By Dark PhaZe Go To Postany ps4 pro peoples played it?Looks good but I have nothing to compare it to
Playing high quality mode since I'm all but blind to frame drops
I have to apparnetly download some 7gb patch on this horrific ps4 wifi before I can even play the fucking game?
man
man
By Phlebas Go To PostHearing the PS4 Pro patch is due early December?
p sure it's to try to get a locked 60 fps for lite mode
I don't know if there's been any confirmation of a fix for bad frame pacing

By Kibner Go To PostAre the characters annoying, unlikable, or react in an unbelievable manner? Is the combat and exploration engaging? First impressions on music?yes.
no.
it's decent.
I dunno. FF doesn't stand out like it did around the time of FF7. But game quality overall has gone up.
But there's never been a bad FF.
How did I miss this gem? lol
Man that PS4 vs PS4 pro comparison video sure didn't make me want to trade in my old school PS4 any time soon. I'm playing witcher 3 right now because it was on sale for $25 for the complete game with expansions. Once done I'll probably play this. I think that should hold me over until Horizon hits.
Tbf you can most likely blame the optimization on Square for that one. There's a patch coming in December apparently.
caved and bought it anyway, but liking it so far. enjoying the laid back vibe (at least at this point, one hour in). Not really getting the hang of battling well though, just feels like I'm mashing with a few random blocks in between.

Not really getting the hang of battling well though, just feels like I'm mashing with a few random blocks in between.I've honestly got no idea what I'm doing with blocks. Feel like I'm pressing the button, then a different enemy comes in with a faster attack that knocks me over before the blockable attack has arrived. Can already tell that its too easy to overlevel yourself, unfortunately, unless you want to miss a tonne of the content (even if most of it is by the numbers)
6 hours in, level 10, not even finished chapter 1. Been funnelled into doing story missions now though, the hunts are higher level than me and I've done the sidemissions I'm aware of/can access. Wandered into that mine, got rekt, escaped. Looking forward to going back in. Enjoying the team abilities a lot

The block/parry timing seems relatively straightforward if you're watching their movement, but I'm usually not lol. Figuring out how to trigger the team abilities more reliably would definitely help too.
that Stand By Me cover is the fucking shit.
i cant wait to play this. i hate i gotta wait until Friday.

I legit cannot enjoy the battle system from the demos I played. I'll stop hating though, just not my cup of tea. at. all.
I'm hearing the game can be completed in 10 hours?
what's with japanese devs forgetting their roots smh
I mean like the game looks good, but still...

Granted, I go AFK to cook (IRL) sometimes :lol but still...no way, unless you know your way around and which time-consuming quests to avoid.
i was hearing 25 hours for main game if you ignored sidequests. Which is a good length for my tastes.
By Kibner Go To Posti was hearing 25 hours for main game if you ignored sidequests. Which is a good length for my tastes.that's perfect because I can see myself getting really tired of driving around from one quest to another 💀
I hope the rumoured bait and switch is true
you know what, just make it The Bouncer 2 and I'll be happy 🙈
Honestly these days I don't have time for 80-100 hour RPGs, so relatively short but substantial games are cool with me.
I did just get back into FFXIV though...

9 hours in, midst of chapter 2, just did a really cool dungeon, level 16
Shame they didn't go with a weapon-wheel system, 3 slots (1 for magic) isn't enough imo. Would like to use guns and daggers on occasion, but can't be bothered with switching them in and out through the menu
Loving it

Did a hunt in Duscae and had not only a fucking airship drop in troops to get involved, but another pack of animals wandered in as well. 10 minutes of absolute chaos.
Magic is absolutely not shit Facismo! I wouldn't have beaten the second boss without it
Keep your eye on their resistances though

Public service announcement #2
there's a locked vault in each dungeon, and you can only open them in NG+ so don't bother going around looking for a key

By Kibner Go To PostOh, fucking hell. :(Tabata said they'd do NG+ through DLC, hopefully a free one like TW3
Real shame there's no bestiary

Some fatigue starting to set in now with that horrific bridge to chapter 2. The combat system is...aite. The fact that most attacks are really awkwardly anticipated in combination with the camera leaves you just waiting for button prompts and holding square awkwardly in between attacks.
I'll keep going but eh

Use controller type C. It works the best of all them. Don't forget that holding the left stick in different directions changes what attack you use.

I constantly shift targets and fly from one to guy to another for crowd control, I love it! Hell, most of my points went into melee and now I'm basically a Dante stuck in his demon form.
what I don't love is the dungeons.....the first four were just a typical cave with a different colour palette. My Dragon Age 2 PTSD kicked in
By Hitch Go To PostWandered into that mine, got rekt, escaped.lmao this happened to me as well. Unfortunately my dumb ass didn't escape and got killed by that level 52 samurai dude. -.-
