Wild. I mean formula ain’t bad and people shouldn’t feel pressured but it’s also 100x cheaper to breast feed. Holy fuck formula Ian expensive
I mean if you have to do formula, then yeah I get it. Not everyone can breast feed for whatever reason, but my wife isn’t struggling for breast milk. We have around 40 ounces frozen for backup but there’s always at least 20 in the fridge. It cost $0 to feed our daughter right now, why add an unnecessary expense? Diapers are fuckin expensive enough.
My daughter doesn’t even like formula. My wife wanted to try it a few times because she was worried she couldn’t keep up with the demand but every time we tried, she would just keep vomiting all night.

That’s what I was gonna ask? Is she getting clogs / dealing with Mastitis … etc.
Yeah you don’t have to breastfeed and shouldn’t feel pressure to breastfeed, but if you can, and don’t mind, why the fuck wouldn’t you?
Just weird
They have sensitive stomach formula but it’s 2x normal prices which are already high as fuck lol
You can also start mixing in rice cereal into breast milk. Depends on age. I think we started doing this around 6 months
Daughter has been having trouble staying asleep the last few days. Instead of putting her down, I let her sleep on my chest while I watched TV as she’s always slept soundly that way.
I somehow fell asleep and she fell off my chest onto the ground. Baby is fine, and I was just playing with her earlier. My wife is an inconsolable mess and I know she blames me.
I wasn’t even sleepy. Idk how it happened, but I feel like shit.

Hope yall had a happy thanksgiving slaent dads. mine consisted of playing monopoly with my wife and son all day. Him being able to read what the cards are saying, counting his money, his reaction to having to pay money, and the real time realization of equating the game's concepts to the real world was pretty great.

You'll get to stage of acceptance that shit happens fairly quickly. Like I'm sure it's not a frequent thing and believe she'll do something at some point too re injuries lol
I remember when I was horsing around with Hana and giving her a piggyback ride with her hanging from my shoulders like cliff hanger. So I pulled her around to my front and didn't know kids have super elastic joints at like 4 and pulled her elbow out of socket.
I was miserable for weeks.
The doctors told me it is a super common thing but it didn't make me feel better lol

My youngest is 11 months now and at that stage where he aint quite ready to walk but is crawling around trying to climb everything even if its not stable or going to take his weight, he is pulling shit down, opening drawers and closing them on his fingers. You can't be there 100% so you just got except they are going to take a few tumbles and try and limit the damage where you can
By FortuneFaded Go To PostDid you destroy him?
Ofc
Even bought Boardwalk off him to pair with Park Place, despite his mom telling him not to do it. The allure of more $$ was too strong . Once he saw the outcome of the deal lots of “this game sucks” , “this isn’t fair” , and thus life lessons were taught 💀
Rob - it happens m8. Kids are more resilient than you think, it’s the adults that gotta be calmed lol
Found out our first is gonna be a boy today. 23 weeks. My partner’s not sure yet. Too many cocks around already.

I call godfather.
Awwwww congrats n8, how you feeling?
Will you let him chose his own football team if he's into footy?
My daughter HATES crawling. She's 7 and half months and stood up for like two seconds yday, think she's going skip crawling. Obviously can't walk on her own but you have to hold her hands while she wonders around the house.

Had to leave work early Monday and take my daughter to the pediatrician bc my wife said she had no appetite and had diarrhea all night into the morning.
Nurse Assistant called back last night saying my daughter has RSV. A little bit after that the front desk calls asking for Mia’s dad (my daughters name is not Mia)
All she has is diarrhea and stomach pain. Those aren’t even symptoms of RSV according to anything I’ve seen online. I feel like the NA meant to call back Mia’s parents and called us back instead for some reason.

My son called me stupid for the first time yesterday. Damn it, it hurt.

Thinking about getting a financial advisor or some kind of help bc I wanna make sure I’m setting my daughter up for the best possible future
Been focused on paying off debts so I feel like I’m already doing a poor job as she’s almost 1, so a whole year has been wasted.

Open up a 529b and put in however much you're comfortable. Target a fund date for when she turns 18. Start there. It doesn't even have to be a lot, maybe auto deposit a $100/mo if you can and up it each year.
You can also ask people to give to the 529b instead of presents.
Vanguard is good: https://investor.vanguard.com/accounts-plans/529-plans
But overall, yes, I highly recommend a financial adviser. Finding a good one is harder though -- if they start off with selling you life insurance for some ridiculous amount ($5,000/yr or whatever) immediately bail.
EDIT: I think Vanguard requires $3,000 minimum to open a 529b.

By Kidjr Go To PostI came to recommend life insurance 💀💀💀lool I'm not saying DON'T get life insurance but it shouldn't be the #1 thing you do and it shouldn't cost stupid amounts of money. Be especially on the lookout for being sold life insurance that's masquerading as some sort of investment scheme -- don't fall into that trap.
You should be targeting a life insurance payout and then browse the market and literally pick the cheapest one. It should be less than 4 figures per year depending on how much you're insuring for, your age, and if in good health.
Yeah agreed it doesn't need to be expensive but I think its one of the cheapest things you can do to really have peace of mind.
I think if in good financial health (as in, you got a lot of extra cash you don't know what to do with):
1. Max out your 401k, make sure to have a healthy balance in what's being invested
2. Monthly 529b contribution
3. Roth IRA conversion
4. Money market fund or CD (rates are around ~5% these days)
5. Managed portfolio (typically minimum $100,000 to start)
With life insurance somewhere between 1 and 3.

How does a CD work?
I always thought it was just you putting money into an account one time and then it accumulates over a certain period.
Had a coworker say he opened up a CD and then just kept depositing money into it.
People be making shit up so idk.

It will help them once they turn 20 because the account will be nearly that old and the age of the account is a significant part of their credit score.

e: my mom did that for me and it also came in handy because i was able to secure a far better rate on a car loan than anywhere else. i think all she did was put like $100 in it to start with and like $1-10 a month or year to keep it "active".

Main reason being is that parents took out a loan in their kids name and saddled them up with bad credit they never paid for. For every good parent, there were some real shitty ones.
