So i really like the OnePlus 6t. My only complaints are that by stock it doesn't have the Google feed on the launcher, and for all the attention the lack of headphone jack.. it's the lack of LED notification that bothers me.
The on-screen fingerprint reader works just well enough to include it, but i think i'd still prefer it be on the back to unlock it as im pulling it out of my pocket. I'm thoroughly convinced that anything over the ~400ppi res the screen has is unnecessary.

A portable dac/amp that lets wired headphones connect wirelessly to the source over bluetooth: https://www.fiio.com/btr3
11 hours of battery life on a full charge is pretty good.

No notification led?!?! Well, that's a real bummer. I was thinking of getting the 6T but now I won't. Maybe it's best to wait until the on-screen readers get another revision anyway.

There is also the ES100 from Radsone that has different advantages/disadvantages: https://www.radsone.com/earstudio

Got the Apple TV 4k. Started the process of manually inputting the digital codes that have come with my physical UHD movies. Some of it is a clusterfuck. Certain movies redeem in 1080p despite having the UHD discs. Been using Movies Anywhere along with primarily Vudu for redemption. With Vudu you can watch the high end version of the stream if it's in 4k, along with HDR. Movies Anywhere is more for convenience as it brings together all of your movies from various serviced. But Infinity War for example in the Movies Anywhere App is 1080p. I have to go to the Vudu App to watch it in 4k and HDR.
There also seems to be a problem with iTunes with Movies Anywhere, which is important because if you already own a movie, you will auto get the iTunes 4k version which also has Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support. Setup wasn't as smooth as I imagined either. I had to go into the options and turn things on that were off in order to get the ATV to not display HDR by default, and to get Dolby Vision enabled content to properly show in movies and Netflix.
Overall I am pleased with the device. $19.99 4k movies 2 weeks ahead of physical release, and $4.99 to rent 4k movies is great. Its really fast and responsive too. I've downloaded most of the network apps I watch. Picture quality seems to be a step above cable, probably because the ATV is outputting at 2160p vs 1080p on cable. I've got a 30 day trial of Sling that came with it, and I need to try Vue as well.
Haven't experienced any stuttering or anything. Overall so far so good. This guy is gonna be my one stop shop for 4k movies and entertainment moving forward. First Apple product I've bought for myself too

By Kabro Go To PostNvidia Shield>>>Mostly depends on what you want. Apple TV supports Dolby Vision and has automatic color space switching, also iOS just has better app support than Android TV.

I am redeeming my entire physical 4k library to digital. iTunes is by far the best service for digital 4k movies.
Anyone want my Superman 4K code? Also have a bunch of other codes for redemption that I don't need lol, not sure if they'll work in the US tho
$5 for them

Blade Runner (1982)
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon
The Dark Knight Trilogy
ET
Get Out (unsure if this will redeem in UHD)
Ghostbusters (1984)
Goodfellas
The Matrix (I remember giving this code to LFMartins a while ago but am not sure if he redeemed it)
Superman
Unforgiven
Westworld Season 1
Trying the out trial of both, but so far to me Vue > Sling TV. Sling just seems unresponsive at times, and more buffering. But seems to have more channels available.
My favorite was DTVNow, but now I use FuboTV since it offers nearly all the same channels minus ESPN/ABC but has every other sport imaginable
By Smokey Go To Postthe FUK is FuboTV
For us by os TV
By Smokey Go To Postthe FUK is FuboTVIt’s like those streaming services but focused on sports. Do you really need the Hallmark channel or OWN, or would you rather have access to every sports channel. For me it's mainly that I get to watch soccer now, I always liked it but as an American the only thing easily available was MLS, and that's like watching college sports.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostThinking hard about getting a Pocophone F1. Anyone as any experience with it?Phone is great, superb battery, superb storage (support up to 2TB sd cards) camera is good but no image stabilisator yet. Screen is only LCD which is the biggest draw back but for 300$ it's a steal.

Not too bothered about the screen and I have a Zhiyun Smooth 4 on the way that I got for 90€ during Black Friday and that will help with image stabilization.

I'm married breh, the answer is yes. Them hallmark Christmas movies are not a game .

By Facism Go To PostFire 10 doing everything i need it to. cheers Kibner. There's a way to side load the android store on it, too. Just Google it. It is as simple as changing one setting and downloading a file.
Just moved yesterday, and got ATT Fiber 1000/1000 at the new spot as well. But this time the way the room is configured, the modem/router is on an opposite wall, away from where my desk is setup. That means I'm going to have to use wifi on my PC. Luckily my motherboard has pretty good wifi built in, and a dongle antenna that gives even more coverage.
First speed test I ran I get 471/455. Router is in the same room as me. That's actually much better than I was anticipating. Downloaded a 4.7GB Digital Foundry 4k video in 4 mins .

Has 1000/1000 fiber with the modem in the same room, uses wi-fi. Smokey once again showing disrespect for the world we live in.

It's literally on the wall a bit behind the chair. Clean Wiring would be more trouble than it's worth.
And I have a 2 yr old. Anything on the ground is a chance for disaster in ways you haven't thought of.
What about those powerline adapters (I think they’re called) that you can plug into sockets and connect an Ethernet cable into them
By Smokey Go To PostIt's literally on the wall a bit behind the chair. Clean Wiring would be more trouble than it's worth.you can get flat ethernet cables now, should be okay to run a long one along the wall?

By reilo Go To Post450 is all wifi can do. That's the AC spec.
Ahhhh ok, makes sense. I know there's newer, faster proticols out, but ofc you have to get new equipment in your ecosystem so everything's matching up to take advantage of it.
By rerixo Go To Postyou can get flat ethernet cables now, should be okay to run a long one along the wall?
I'd have to run multiple cables to my systems and PC. At least 3. Meh. Don't really want that look.
By Lunatic Go To PostThey are shitHad no idea, just always heard people mention it.
There are other standards like 802.11ad that would work because you are in the same room, and 802.11ax should be faster.. the problem is actually finding the NICs for devices and anyone that has any experience because nobody is out there trying to get 1gb wireless.
By Smokey Go To PostLooked it up – AC max (theoretical) wifi speed is 1.3Gbps. The 450Mbps max is for 802.11n.Ah yea that's right. So you're bottlenecked somewhere either your router or wifi node on your computer.
By reilo Go To PostAh yea that's right. So you're bottlenecked somewhere either your router or wifi node on your computer.
I'm using the router that came with the fiber, arris bgw210, which I was using at the other spot too, when I had everything hardwired.
Although I'm not getting near the shit performance this guy is in the video. I think the bgw210 is actually a newer model. The separate router I was using was originally a backup that I called into action after my main got fried during Harvey. But it was older anyway so I decided to go with the provided by att for the time being.
I've been mostly satisfied with the performance of their router/modem, given that when I had Comcast and tried to use their combo setup, it was legitimately awful.
