By s y Go To PostBeen burning through the MHA manga. Kibner was right, lots of good material for the next two seasons at least.I stopped reading shortly after the big battle. That next arc seemed really boring to me and I haven't read more than the first eight or so issues of it.

Anyone watching Made In Abyss?
Holy fuck. The presentation and art style makes the fact that it's so insanely dark and brutal hit that much harder. Easily one of the best shows I've seen in years.
Makes me want to read the manga, and I've never read a manga before.

By DY_nasty Go To Postmy friend told me to watch rwbyI watched most of the first season and had mixed feelings about it. I heard it gets better, though.
is that really my friend?
the first season has the best action imo. not much plot.
2nd season the story starts to come around.
3rd season the action takes a small step back because the creator died in the making of it but the story starts to payoff
then i never got around to the 4th season when it started back up so im way behind
if you like flashy, largely inconsequential action and tropes you'll like it.

By Apollo Go To Postpsy how was the manga My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness? I know your weeb ass has read itit's good. Think anyone with mental health issues will find it pretty relatable.
Much better than what you would expect from something that started as a pixiv web comic
Is this where I go for my weekly Japanese cartoon hot takes? Was basically the only thing I used gaf for
anime is wank this season i just read manga for now i guess
i mean it'd be cool if characters weren't 5 year olds tho

God I'm getting old...
I mostly read mangas, dabble in a little anime.
Did watch Irresponsible Captain Tylor a few weeks ago and boy does it holds up. Was made in the 90s but the world building, characters are pretty good.

I have not historically been an anime person so I'm going through Death Note at the moment for the first time (eh, starting with the popular things) and have two episodes left. That's been a ride.

It's not the same as Death Note of course, but when it comes to well written plotlines and characters, it's probably the closest to it. (well that's not a seinen or josei manga)
That and Hunter X Hunter.
By FlutterPuffs Go To Posttry reading Finding Neverland after. Thanks for the recs! I've been wondering what to tackle next and you gave me some good ideas with that. Evangelion was the first complete series that I've gone through, which I loved in spite of its flaws, but I'm interested to see and read more from across the spectrum.

By Richter1887 Go To PostAnybody knows a good anime like Beelzbub with delinquent fights and characters?
The only anime that I can think of being similar is Great Teacher Onizuka but that is mainly because of the comedy. There is some delinquents, mc is a former one, but not much fighting iirc. The prequel manga would fit the bill.

Anyone's watching Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou? (Girls' Last Tour).
Really great stuff. Good balance of comfy and melancholy. Kinda like a good counterpart to Made in Abyss (characters are going up in this one).
The OP is really cute.

Yeah Girls Last Tour is great, love the atmosphere. Also something that's pretty cool; the ED was animated by the author of the manga!

By FlutterPuffs Go To PostI mostly read mangas, dabble in a little anime.Yeah, that's been one of my long time favorites. As for revisiting 90s anime, I just finished re-watching Outlaw Star, Gundam MS08th team, and most of The Big O and they are all still pretty dang good.

Will be easier to give recommendations based on that information.
Started watching MHA a few days ago. It's pretty good. I'll come back to this thread for recommendations once I'm done with that.
I need some recommendations too, need a good shonen that’s not too violent or weird or too silly like one piece or JoJo.
I prefer generic shonen or high school dramas. Watching elite classroom right now. Watched Fairy tail, DB, and MHA.

If you haven't seen it yet, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is amazing.

Anybody wanting to watch something different/weird, the show my avatar is from is pretty great. It's called Humanity has Declined.
Garo: Vanishing Line is a stylish action anime airing right now. It's fairly reminiscent of old school 80's/90's bloody OVA's.
Best part of the show is the strong character art, in my opinion. Actually has Takashi Okazaki, the guy who created Afro samurai, doing the character designs.

I'd recommend 3-Gatsu No Lion tbh. It's a slice of life show about a Shogi prodigy that doesnt go as you think it would. Funny, insightful and bittersweet.
Also for something out of the norm, Koe No Katachi. A story about a boy who had to contend with life after he bullied a deaf girl when he was a kid and octracised for it. Some great voice acting, good animation and pacing. I'd put it as a must watch.

By Kibner Go To PostDoes… does Yu Yu Hakusho count? Thanks for the suggestion, It looks similar to the formula.
By Richter1887 Go To PostThanks for the suggestion, It looks similar to the formula. It's definitely a classic. It goes on for a long time and the last arc or two aren't great, so don't feel pressured to "complete" it.
e: also, the dub has wonderful voices. i don't remember if the actual acting is good or bad, but the voices are terrific.

By sunshine and gasoline Go To PostIf you haven't seen it yet, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is amazing.Yup forgot that one, I’ve actually seen tons of anime. Most of the popular ones and have a Crunchyroll sub. I just don’t have the time to keep starting and stopping ones.

Yu Yu Hakusho is as shonen as it gets. Really, really good shonen, but Yusuke being a delinquent only factors into his personality. It's not an anime about banshos, if that's what you're looking for.

By TheMikado Go To PostHmm that’s looks like a winner. Thanks! If you haven't read up on it, basic gist is professional gamer gets expelled from his team due to *reasons* and starts up a new character on a new server and slowly builds up a new team to go pro with once his non-compete clause in his contract is up. It's got some wonderful characters in it, along with some good humor and action.
It is also a Chinese anime, so many of the tropes may be brand new to you!

By Rumblebones Go To PostBoruto shits all over Hero Acadamia.
Don't @ me.
FTFY
By NovemberMagnus Go To PostTbf the show forgets about Kuwabara tooI will never forget his dub voice. It's rare that a voice so perfectly fits a character.
By NovemberMagnus Go To PostFTFY
Boruto been fun but it ain't Naruto.
Part I of Naruto was dope af. Make the next generation look soft.
By Richter1887 Go To PostAnybody knows a good anime like Beelzbub with delinquent fights and characters?
Sakigake Otokojuku anime is fun. Rokudenaishi Blues, Rookies and Worst are good mangas.
