A few decent midfield battles, so many Ferrari brainfarts and a safety car towards the end.

Start was great, amazing they get through there without accident, Lewis on the inside braking latest probably did help (no locking). Vettel squeezing his teammate of track and Max taking that cue to pull one on Vettel was great and another quality race by Max. Ferrari team tactics were so Ferrari.
Midfield did provide some cool stuff, Danill outside T4 and silly, Gunther must have been one happy camper, stuff.
Mercedes utterly dominant in all expect Ferrari power, but the rest of that Ferrari car lacks to much. Seeing how good they were in the final sector it is hard to look past another 1-2 in Monaco, unless something silly happens or Max gets rid of his Monaco demons. To save this season from utter boredom at the front, RBR/Fer please pull something magic out of some forgotten desk, otherwise its Gute Nacht for 2019, as I cannot see Valteri keeping it up for an entire season.
Lets hope the next Merc boss lessens their F1 budget for the good of the sport ;)

Yeah it's the worst. Just a tiny bit of sun and this country goes crazy over it leading to major traffic issues. Organizing this is gonna be straight up hell. I remember going to the Paas races back in the day with my parents, this one time I only saw the inside of our own car moving trough traffic, they locked down Zandvoort at one point and we never got to the races.
By Linius Go To PostFormula 1 coming back to Zandvoort, the Netherlands is official right now. First race in 2020.Would be tempted to go but I heard transport there would be difficult - like Paul Ricard.
Yeah, if you have to go by car, you either go extremely early and have no hurry leaving, otherwise it is a clusterfuck. Two years ago during "paas races/jumbo dagen" we went there by train and it was bad but doable as we had no hurry leaving Zandvoort, but that was with 1/2 the people you can expect during a race weekend, you just have to except what it is.
Curious what they will do with the last 1/3rd of the track to try to create some kind of more possible overtaking option in to the Tarzanbocht and were they are gonna create space for all the paddock stuff, behind main stand?

Yeah it's a narrow track and a lot of stuff needs to happen to accommodate all the teams and their gear. Looking forward to seeing how things will pan out.
Last time I was at the track I was there to run 12km across the track and the beach, good stuff.

By Linius Go To PostWell it's a beach town with only one access road. Both by car and by train. So you do the math.I suggest parking your car at Bloemendaal and walking through the dunes.
He's been a bit of a salty old man these past few years, but one of the biggest legends to have ever graced this sport.
RIP

One of the few that without hesitations you call a true legend of the sport and an iconic figure also outside our sport. Someone that made us always remember that modern F1 safety came as result of what happened to those in the past and he was lucky to survive his horror crash at the Nurburgring.
Wouldn't call him salty(old men yelling at the clouds), more incredible direct/blunt in his comments and I loved that and one of the few I will actually miss having around in the F1 paddock.

I was hoping he would return to the paddock one day. Always enjoyed hearing his thoughts on everything formula one because he was a blunt character and hit the nail on the head occasionally.
This weekend it's Monaco and don't forget we start on Thursday with FP1/2 and continue with FP3/Q on Saturday. Cannot see past Mercedes, unless the RBR15 in max downforce configuration (+ Max) and on the softest tires is better than what we have seen so far. Ferrari no chance as their problem is the lack of downforce, so expect them to fight with Gasly for 4th.

Still as amazing as ever to see cars go through the swimming pool chicane.
RBR little later on track, so probably bit behind the Mercs (track evolution), surprisingly faster in the final sector. Teams that get enough temp in the front tires for the 1st sector will do well. TR and RPFI used harder tires on the 2nd run, so they would have looked better.

FP2
Merc dominant, only Max could get reasonable close (2/3tenths), but technical problem meant he did no 2nd quick run. Ferrari struggling and need to find something to not get thrown into top midfield battle.
Last years RBR14 backside still does the trick on the TR and expect Haas to be up there as well (black flagged in 1st session due to telemetry/radio issues and hardly ran))
They mostly behaved, some action from today:

Leclerc quickest, surprisingly, but they were the only team who could get the tires in a good working temp in the first lap. Other teams kept improving in their 2nd/3rd/etc fast lap, but the tires are the best in your first lap, so food for thought for Merc/RBR (warm-up lap?).
Midfield close and Q2 will no doubt be, "he blocked me" a lot, Racing Point and McLaren look a bit of the midfield pace this weekend.
LeClerc out at Q1 after being fastest in the practice sessions. Ferrari didn't out him out for more quali laps.
Why are they such fuck ups?

Midfield is close, Grosjean and Hulk out
And there is still hope for a non Mercedes pole......................................start engine mode 1 and 1-2 again :( . unless tire temp 1st lap pace is going to be determining factor.

Leclerc is throwing Ferraris race management under the bus. Saying he told them he needed to go out again, but they insisted it was fine.
By Spengo Go To PostIt's obvious Ferrari is using the soul stone at this track.

LEEEEWWWWWWIIIIIIIISSS
last lap wonder when it was needed again, Bottas again fast 1st run and struggling in 2 nd run. Max looks like he had traffic in outlap, not enough temp but doubt it would have mattered.
Kevin best of the rest and DannyRic deserves a better Renault, also both TR in top 10
