By HasphatsAnts Go To Posti didn't know luka modric was in this chernobyl showand now Chiellini...
It's wild that i haven't seen much of the content mill churning stuff out for Chernobyl.
Nice change of pace tho. Don't need that much conversation around it tbh

I just hope they explain how royally they fucked things up in episode 5, don't really need more people afraid of nuclear power.. just IMO.
Gonna take me a while to get over the British accents in Chernobyl.
It was less stark in something like Rome because it wasn't this close to modern times like this show.
However, oh my god the staggering incompetence.

Seriously watch the china syndrome if you're interested in all that nrc bullshot. Its got one of the most tense final scenes I've ever seen
This coal mine scene is terrible but Luka did a good job
EDIT: bruh these hospital scenes wtf
EDIT 2: I knew GoT was lacking in genitals last few seasons but HBO not like this
EDIT 3: This firefighters wife plot is fucking dumb. What's the point of this?

His real-life wife, Lyudmilla Ignatenko, took part in a Nobel-prize winning book Voices of Chernobyl: The Oral History Of A Nuclear Disaster.... and you'll also see next episode.
By s y Go To PostWhy does everyone have british accents in Chernobyl?is the accents your issue here or the fact that Russians are speaking English
I'm trying to watch but this is annoying af
lol spoken like a bunch of people who never heard Keri Russell's attempt at a Russian accent.
British accent is fine. Less distracting than a shitty fake russian accent.

Chernobyl has no sense of nuance. It's so on the nose. The cold open in Episode 4 is hilariously bad.
Yeah, Chernobyl isn't nuanced. It's a horror series based on a true incident with radiation depicted with a demon like presence, and an authoritarian state making things worse.
I love everything about it.

Not to cape, but this. Even some of the elements that seem super out there are based on fact or a composite of it. There isn't nuance to some of it, because The Soviet union didn't allow there to be any.
And honestly, there are some lessons that don't need subtle guidance.
Edit: If this is about the older woman and the cow, then, yes, it actually is. It's a callback to the older gentleman in episode 1. The link to the old Soviet Machine and how it no longer mattered what the elderly went through for country.
Edit edit: Thinking further: there was a strong parallel to the KGB's treatment of the people, with how the animals were treated, running through the entire episode.
I have been watching it today. On episode 3 and just let out a huge no when the wife of the firefighter when the visit him.
The 10th Doctor is the performance that solidified the personality types of millions of young white men
Killing Eve s1 is really really good, just a fun cat and mouse thriller. Not finished it yet but I really like it so far.
Imagine your view of minorities and PoC is so warped that when an Lebanese actor portraying an Armenian shows up you don’t even notice
Would genuinely enjoy the reaction if they replaced the helicopters flying over reactor 4 with CGI flying trans people tho.
Jfc, the KGB managed to be scarier than the damn radiation, this episode.
Skarsgard, Watson, and Harris all deserve awards.

Jesus the Exclusion Zone around Chernobyl is the size of 2,600 sq. km?? Fuuu
Also the archive footage at the end is wild.
Did Legasov actually call out the USSR at the trial like that? Does anyone know?

His testimony only picked up after he committed suicide.
