As self indulgent as that caterpillar shot is, it takes on a second life when the KGB pulls out the receipts on Legasov. I was shook af, when THAT bomb dropped. Had to put even more respect on Boris' name.
I'm probably reading to much into it, but that last shot with Boris and Ulana was amazing. Legasov walking out of that room alive said everything.

The first season of Marco Polo on Netflix is still GOAT.
I'm still pissed that Hundred Eyes was so OP and that the cricket minister and Song dynasty couldn't long live.

By reilo Go To PostNot sure I like this Barry S2 finale. It was such a strong season though. It wasn't as much of a cliffhanger/gutpunch as s1's but it was still a doozy because the show seems to be saying that despite his and the ppl around him's best efforts...Barry isn't a good guy
By reilo Go To PostJesus the Exclusion Zone around Chernobyl is the size of 2,600 sq. km?? Fuuuwhile Fukushima is like 780 sq km
Also the archive footage at the end is wild.
Did Legasov actually call out the USSR at the trial like that? Does anyone know?
The weirdest thing about the exclusion zone is that some scientists say the overall effect on wildlife was actually positive, because its essentially a huge nature preserve now.
"Actually a positive" is really ignoring the tremendous human costs involved in the disaster.
I know people like to find something positive to cling to but imagine if anyone ever thought of looking for the positives in the rwandan genocide.
Or maybe I'm being over sensitive.

a positive for wildlife, based only on the fact that humans don't live or visit much there. Just a curious observation about it's ecology, definitely not really meant to be a "finding a positive in the situation" type thing.
By blackace Go To Postwhile Fukushima is like 780 sq kmLA is 1,300 sk qm, for comparison.
I held it together for the majority of the episode, but
"She now lives with her son in Kiev" broke me. uncontrollably sobbing

Swamp Thing has been canceled by Warner/DC Universe after only 1 episode aired. The rumor is that Warner wasn't happy with the direction of the show, even though it has been well received by the critics and the audience.
Edit: or maybe this is the reason

AT&T’s WarnerMedia streaming service to cost “between $16 and $17 a month”Ugh. That's either DOA or a supreme deal given it comes with HBO.
These media mergers last few years are killing us.
McNulty: Well, if every time, Snot Boogie stole the money, why’d you let him play?
Kid: Got to. It’s America, man.
GDLK opening. Haven't seen The Wire in over a decade. Rewatching the series, now that Chernobyl is finished.
"Girl, you can't even call that shit a war."
"Why?"
"Wars end."

south park season 22 started off strong, pretty meh by episode 10. Turns out I didn't see season 21, this reveal caught me off guard lmao
Just watched all 5 episodes of Chernobyl in a row. Jared Harris is going to win all the awards when the awards season comes round.
Gonna binge it on Saturday if I can
Brother said it's too downbeat to do more than two episodes at a time so we'll see.
Watched all of S5 of Line of Duty in a block last week, thought it badly ran out of steam around episode 4 after being brilliantly set up to be as gripping as ever. Not a fan of the way it contrived to ask more questions than it answered at the end, the sudden Morse code bollocks used to create them, and the happy enough endings for the antagonists.

By Hitch Go To PostGonna binge it on Saturday if I canYeah I agree. Would have liked to see Stephen Graham stick around for longer, he did amazing work as that character.

Finally got round to finishing off Black Sails and it was a pretty decent way to finish off the series I reckon.
Next up: Justified's final season which I've struggled with in the past, which is weird since so many people rave about it.

I don't remember much of the season but the actual finale/epilogue is great Laboured. Or at least the ending felt "right."
Too Old to Die Young is out on amazon now too.

I liked black sail, never finished it, took way to long to get good tho
If you got the patience for it you're gonna love a lot of...moments in Too Old to Die Young @laboured

Tough going. Absolutely glacial stuff atm.
Watched a couple of episodes of The Planets
It's great, but clearly supposed to be watched weekly. A lot of repeated shots, metaphors, comparisons and phrases.

I absolutely refuse to watch a single minute of it without a joint in hand, you will love it.

Glad we are back on Axe vs Chuck.
By reilo Go To PostI had no idea the new season of Top Gear has started airing. Welp.First episode was on last night. It was OK, not great but not a disaster either.
