They say this is the best Watchmen episode out of the 6 episodes they gave to the press.

By Not Go To PostDon't watch the trailer if you haven't seen the movie, spoils the whole thingI need to finish too. CNs droughts were ridiculous and hard to follow.
Mandolorian is very mediocre. not gonna bother anymore unless people tell me it's good when the season is done.
I'm quite liking it. It's very straightforward but in a kind of charming way. I love that it focusses on the decaying frontier worlds. SW sucks when its all shiny glass buildings and galactic politics.
i think i'm at the point where i can say that SW sucks no matter what. always has and probably always will.
"See", is a wild show.
Spoilers, but where I'm at, half of this shit was over a damn dick appointment. I'm dead af. Lmao

Mandalorian is okay enough and not painful to watch.
So it's at the very least better than every season of Stranger Things which I hear is one of SLAENT's favorite shows.

All facts. Incredible episode.
HDM spoilers
First Will Parry appearance and a season early to boot.
Didn't expect that at all. But then again they've changed the chronology of things already. Shouldn't be too surprised.

The show hasn't nailed down the importance of Daemons and it's starting to suffer because of it. In the books the discovery of a live Billy Costa/Tony Makarios but without his Daemon shocked everyone to their core. Part of a person's soul was stolen. It also drove home the monstrousness of the Church. They were stealing the souls of kids and leaving them to die. But not as mindless husks like depicted in the show. The kids were fully aware that they'd lost something vital and we're trying everything to fill that void unsuccessfully. It was horrific. It fell flat here.
In the show what's happening to the kids is still bad, but in much more generalised terms. Kids are missing and dying and that's bad. But the real horror of the soul stealing is really downplayed. Failure to establish Deamons and Dust will really bite them down the line. It's the core mystery of the series.
Christ, I sound like a Game of Thrones fan.

My mind is fucking blown. 😂
finally caught up w/ Succession yesterday as well. it very much fills that Mad Men void for me where it's such an entertaining set of characters i love to just see them in random scenarios/combos bouncing off of each other. Kendall is still probably my least favorite of the kids though.
Best shows this year? Mine:
1. Mr Robot
2. Mindhunter
3. Watchmen
4. Barry
5. Legion
6. The Boys
Haven't seen Succession or His Dark Materials, Chernobyl, Primal, or Flea bag yet. If we're including anime, Mob Psycho 100 II and Attack on Titan Season 3 would be on this list.

Haven't seen alot of new stuff.
Some things weren't for me, I might have missed a few hidden gems here and there.
1. Mr Robot
2. Chernobyl
3. Mindhunter S2
4. True Detective S3
5. Good Omens
6. The Little Drummer Girl (only came out here this year)
7. The Kingdom
.
.
.
100. Game of Thrones S8.
Tried the second season of Terror, but that was pretty dreadful. Wasn't really in the mood for Stranger Things and honestly I felt like the show should have ended after S1.
Overall Mr. Robot and Chernobyl are far above the rest.
At least we're getting Witcher and The Expanse S4 soon.

Reading the Alan Moore interview stuff and his daughter's Twitter have really soured me on the show. For all the potentially interesting stuff Lindelof might be doing with Alan Moore's characters, I can't overlook that they were uncaringly ripped out of his hands. He got screwed just like Kirby and the rest of his creator heroes. Imagine being so invested in your work that discussing any version of it that's been removed from your intentions is just too heartbreaking. Especially so evil (comic) and dumbass (TV/movie) suits can just make more senseless money.
The Big 2, especially from the '70s to the '90s, can eat shit
I like this article tho

I really have to wonder if he'd approve of the direction they went in. I wonder if Lindelof was aware of Moore's "Birth of the Nation as first superhero movie" comments before writing Season 1

Truth be told, the tv series has the potential to be better than the book, which has its own problems.
2 more episode to go though.
1. attack on titan
2. chernobyl
3. fleabag
4. mob psycho
5. bojack
haven't seen mr robot yet, and expanse could make top 5. only on s1 of succession. sounds like i should check out mindhunter too.
