HDM spoilers.
First mention of the Parry's, and a season early no less! Looks like the guy sent to keep watch on Will and his mum is the one that's killed at the start of Subtle Knife.
Lyra uses the Alethiometer for the first time as well. Next week if the introduction of Lee Scoresby and Iorek Byrnison. Things are going to start picking up now, I hope. Been a very slow burner for three episodes.

By Flutter Go To PostAnother absolutely incredible episode of Watchmen. Apparently the next one is the best.
By /sy Go To Postthe last episode of mr robot is an all timer. jesus christ.
i really wish I didn't watch Watchmen after Mr Robot.
TV just can't get as good as Mr Robot.
I havent watched Mr. Robot after the first season, saving them all up when it finishes.
Same with Shingeki No Kyojin.

By Laboured Go To PostGood lord Watchmen is so good. So many moments that make me grin ear to ear.
I'm not sure they did a good job selling why Looking Glass sold Angela out at the end, but it was a good episode non the less.
Watching one of the FyreFest festival docmentaries. Jesus Christ.
Can't wait for a Star Citizen one soon.

Maybe it says so in the trailer, but I refuse to watch trailers for things I care about, but when is season 4 releasing?

Just spent 20 minutes with a giant grin on my face watching The Ember Spirit Players episode
What a lovely way to recap the events and characters leading up to the end, and the joke about Jet was brilliant
Can't recommend Avatar enough, I've bounced off of every other anime I've tried watching. If it even counts as anime, not sure what the technical distinction is between it and a regular cartoon.
Only 3 episodes left :(

Avatar is in a class by itself. Everything about it is unprecedented and unrepeated, especially in American kids' TV
By Hitch Go To PostJust spent 20 minutes with a giant grin on my face watching The Ember Spirit Players episodeTLA is fantastic and the finale is amazing. Don't even bother watching legend of korra either.

as far as anime is concerned, if you like Avatar TLA, try Cowboy Bebop, only 26 episodes and a great english dubbing. Full Metal alchemist Brotherhood, also highly regarded and a great english dub.
People really like Death Note too.
TLA has far more similarities to anime than it does with other american cartoons. Especially visually.
It's over. What a ride, not a single minute that I didn't enjoy.
Great plot and setting, fantastic characters and performances, very touching, very funny, absolutely beautiful to look at. It's basically perfect from episode 1-61.
Will give Cowboy Bebop another go, fell off it after four episodes or so when I watched it a couple of years ago. Is Legend of Korra one of those sequels where it's good by its own merits, but feels a bit shit because it's dropped all the characters you've grown to love and seems unnecessary?

I'll never not recommend Yu Yu Hakusho which is a straightforward action anime with great characters and an excellent english dub.
Legend of fucking Galactic fucking Heroes Hitch. Watch it.
Although if you want something like Avatar; Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood, My Hero Academia, and Hunter X Hunter.

Not good. It was promising, but it's very wishy washy. Pretty much tried to make Avatar for an older age range, but failed terribly in the execution.
I'm particularly not a fan of the ending, that got shippers happy, but damn, it felt really tacked on.
By Not Go To PostYeah but it was the beginning of the LGBT watershed in kid's cartoonsYeah, I was only annoyed over the execution. It could have been done better.
Tacked on or no

Is it on any streaming service?
Korra ranges from great to terrible. Season one shows off some really solid potential. Two is abysmal. Three is fucking amazing and holds up with better TLA seasons. Then 4 while good just kind of happens.
I liked it at least, but most who gave up on Korra did so early on. They can't be blamed either. Season 2 is awful.

Might give Avatar a go after all, though I'm inclined to distrust anyone who dropped Cowboy Bebop after 4 episodes. I made the mistake of randomly watching a couple of episodes of Legend of Korra and it seemed so mediocre that it turned me off giving Avatar a chance.
By Laboured Go To PostIs it on any streaming service?Avatar is on Netflix here, might be the same in the UK.

Season 1 (up to the end) and 3 are excellent. 2 kind of sucks but mainly because they didn't expect to have a season 2 to begin with. Nick jerked the show around a lot. 4 is good but not as good as 3. You can definitely feel Nick yanking the budget on S4 too. Definitely worth watching overall though

Season 3 was one of the best seasons of both shows and people didn't even know where the fuck they could watch from week to week.
From start to finish, Korra was Young Justice/Teen Titans status with Nick
Well, Airbender, Korra aren't merchandise sellers, which is a problem for Nickelodeon. It sucks, and that's why animation on US television generally stick to 'safe' shows directed to children.
Oh yeah Hitch, Young Justice is legit good, especially season 2.

By DY_nasty Go To PostBest villain of the entire series. Free.I agree. It’s just that every korra character fucking sucks. Bolin, mako assami, tendon bleg
The villain in season 1 was great too.
Series finale of Man in the High Castle was good. All around decent series that starts slow and doesn't really pick up its stride until the end of season 1 and into season 2. John Smith was easily the best character arc for the series. His wife Helen, who's roll was limited at first, became a major player and her role in season 4 was amazing. The smith family arc was the best. They're endings in season 4 are the most impactful of the series IMO.
Juliana Crane's arc was clearly supposed to the main arc, but it just wasn't as enjoyable. There were some good moments with her arc. Joe Black and her had movements.
The other enjoyable arc is Inspector Kido. The ending with his son was an apt closure for the series.
I wish they would have made the black communists more prominent in earlier seasons.
It was an interesting series in that it's a period piece sci fi drama, but the first season lacks almost any sci fi until the very end. It evolved further and further as the seasons moved on until the final season 4.
