So 2 out of 3 stores where I have an order for 3900x, delayed it again. If the last one doesnt ship monday, I am going to remain #intelsheep and get that 9900k. Hopefully they havent removed all the good chips from 9900k yet.
I wouldn't mind paying 100-150€ for a binned CPU on (the rare) occasion. I wish we had a Silicon Lottery equivalent in Europe. Do we?
I see Caseking.de are still selling der8auer binned chips, but at 750€ for a 5ghz 9900k (vs. 580$ on SL) it's gonna be a no from me dawg.

Go the eBay route like me instead. 5Ghz 9900K at 1.3v, delidded with the IHS replaced with a Rockit Cool copper IHS. £430 delivered. Bargain of the fucking century.

It'd be nice to have a reputable, reasonably priced non-eBay EU source for binned CPUs, though we're fast approaching the dreaded diminishing returns territory with silicon, so it probably won't matter for much longer.
The struggles of Denmark being tiny, and people generally not all too bothered to sell their shit online. PC hardware market online is so fucking tiny.
That's how I feel about the slovenian market as well, and yet I'm somehow always able to find great deals on used GPUs.
I've had my 1080ti for like a year now and I paid considerably less that what most are getting sold for even now. Bolha.com forevah.

so... ehm... how should i cool this fucking 9900k?
and now i have to find a new motherboard and shit also, reeee.

NH-D15, BeQuiet equivalent (DRP4?), 240AIO or larger.
I am most likely getting the be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 Rev 2, so shouldn't be a problem. Nice. I never messed around with liquid cooling, and kind of dont feel like it, even if it's all in one stuff.
Can't say my experience with AIO CPU WC was been especially magical. Probably wouldn't bother again.
I’ve been pretty happy with the AIOs I’ve used, and the custom loop. Still love the complete peace of mind and simplicity of chonky air coolers though.

Great mounting mechanism as well. The one of the DRP3, which is what I have on my 7700k, is kinda clunky.

I'd still take the D15 over it, but yeah they're very comparable.
For AIOs, specifically I would go with a 280mm Asetek variant, or an Eisbaer LT240/LT360.
I had the Eisbaer LT240 and I was really happy with it on my 9900K. The tubes are ugly though and the fans are shit ( I replaced them). but in return you get a very good and quiet pump, a full copper radiator, ease of serviceability and a gateway into a "cheap" custom loop. I torn the whole thing apart in the end, but I'm still using the radiator off the LT240.
Think my setup is going to end up looking very similar to this one. Dark wood desk, black mat + mouse pad, black & white keyboard. Might as well go with a black & white cable. I'm set on drilling a hole, have the cable disappear down in the middle of the desk, so that only about 30-40cm of it is exposed, mostly the coil. Don't think I'll need more than a 1m long cable. I'll use a cheapo extension under the table, saves me a bit of money.
I found this EU custom cables guy, seems to be well regarded, the waiting times are apparently 3900x-tier though. Hope I don't get Wooden'd.

Fuck, you're right, I need some colour in my setup life. I love how techflex looks and feels on paracord. Mechcables' selection is vast, I just wish there was a photo available for every possible combination instead of having to rely on reddit.
I posted it in the Audio Gear thread, but this company also lets you design your own USB cables, in addition to AUX cables:

I don't know how shipping works for them outside the US, though. They also have a thing where you can take a picture of your setup and they will help you choose a color/design to best match it, if you'd like.

I am looking for an entry level budget PC. Looking to tp play CRPGs and a couple mmo on med-high settings. Also BL3 on low med.
How much are you looking to spend? Are you okay with buying parts and building the PC yourself or are you going with a Cavalo(tm)?

Pretty much the ideal set up for that particular case. AIO intake at the front, exhaust via PSU and otherwise positive pressure. Hard to fault it.
Alternative would be to with an air cooler, using an SFX PSU in that case gives enough clearance for a L12S (IIRC), but AIOs perform much better than any low profile air coolers.
By Wahabipapangus Go To PostThey actually sent me an email saying they expect the ryzen mid week, after i mailed them telling them to idi nahui…. why does allah keep giving me hope, and then taking it away again? Not much to say, really. Top-shelf-yet-reasonable stuff all around, regardless of Intel or AMD.

Add a 3080 / 3080ti in a year or so and you're set for the foreseeable future.
By HottestVapes Go To PostPretty much the ideal set up for that particular case. AIO intake at the front, exhaust via PSU and otherwise positive pressure. Hard to fault it.Well, Kuma, check out that build for your $900 budget in a tiny case. If you go with a standard sized case, you could save money on the cooler and PSU to get a 2060 GPU which is about 10-15% faster. If you are just doing 1080p and 60fps, either card will be sufficient.

e: i have a hard time recommending anything cheaper/weaker than a 1660 TI because of the great 1080p performance and it having all the currently available GPU-encoding codecs in case you ever want to stream

Generally speaking, I don't like to recommend SFF builds for someone with a modest budget. They're a bad value proposition unless you really need the smaller size due to limited space, travel or just like the aesthetic of it all.
ATX motherboards and PSUs alone can net roughly a £/$50 saving. A cheap tower cooler will fit inside a larger case and cool sufficiently too, and a CM212 is like a third of the price of the CM AIO. I priced up a minute ago, and yeah. Jumping to a 2060 is doable within $900. I'd take that over a smaller build if I was budget limited.
I'll have to take another stab at it with a standard mid-tower design sometime soon (hopefully later tonight?), then.

The Crucial P1 is $100 instead of $30, but you get much faster speeds and four times the capacity. 240 GB really isn't enough for your only drive, imo.
Is this a good build?
e: also, you are having to hope that that motherboard ships with a bios compatible with the 3600. If it doesn't, you will have to ask AMD for a loaner CPU to update the bios: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/pa-100
<x>570 boards are the only ones guaranteed to ship with a bios compatible with the 3000 series Ryzen parts
Also, don't buy parts while saving money. It is 99% of the time better to wait until you have enough money to get everything at once due to possible price drops.

Yeah thats what I am going to do, just putting it aside so I dont spend it lol. I might go with 500GB Crucial since 1TB seems to much for me.
Also thanks a bunch.
I still highly advise going with the 1 TB. Especially with modern games (usually ones that are also on console) taking up 80+ GB each.
