By DerZuhälter Go To PostJust the fact that Pep wanted to get rid of him is something so unfathomable. Don't get me wrong. Jesus is amazing and the future, but damn Pep. Getting rid of him? Why? I just don't get it.Pep relies on great players working together in a great system. Agero is fantastic but he relies more on individual talent than on a team awareness. Look at Mou, he's getting great players but hasn't figured out a way to make them gel together.

It doesn't matter if that player is Zlatan, Agüero, Schweinsteiger or Contento. Is not a matter of quality.
A great coach can adapt the system to fit the (great) players he has available. Pep can't.
Pep's goal was obviously for Aguero to be a little more involved in all facets and you can see it in most games. I think he's pressing a bit less right now because he has to conserve his energy with no back-up. If he thought that he couldn't get the most out of him, he'd have told them to sell him immediately in the summer of 2016 (r.e. Hart), but he knew he could be a "Pep player", or at least more of one, with some pushing. He'll probably never be a totally ideal fit, but he's an amazing striker and obviously Pep can recognize that.
Sort of quietly at 28 goals in 32 games and definitely on pace to have his best scoring season ever. It's a "good problem" to have, but I'm almost not looking forward to Jesus getting back whenever he does because it's been nice to see Aguero get to play regularly.

This is one of the oddest things about management in football. Managers always seem to want to implement ideas rather than build systems around the players.
By Kidjr Go To PostThis is one of the oddest things about management in football. Managers always seem to want to implement ideas rather than build systems around the players.
Why is this odd? What if they don’t rate the players they have? What if they want to do things the way they think it’ll work, especially if - as Pep has proven time and time again - it will work?
Elsk saying only great coaches work with the players they have is incredibly, incredibly reductive. Pep has been getting good performances out of Otamendi and Delph. Pep trusts in youth and develops raw talent in players like Busquets and Pique. Pep realises the best way to utilise players like Messi, De Bruyne, Sterling. Look at the way Sterling has improved since Pep came in.
Quite why anyone would listen to Elsk on matters involving football, I’m not sure. He’s routinely proved himself to have contrarian, unpopular opinions - which would be fine, if he wasn’t so dismissive of everyone else’s which makes his look even stupider in return.
Sorry but if you have a player of the quality of Agüero and you can't adapt your tactics to fit him, you aren't a great coach.
And when was the last time Pep promoted a youth player and he became a starter for the club? Busquets? If you want to talk about someone who developed youth players then you should be talking about LvG not Guardiola

Aguero has scored 28 goals in 32 games. He has worked out. Pep still feels he can improve because he isn’t satisfied.
Van Gaal just failed at United. I am not going to talk about him because he did nothing much of worth. Rashford was a happy accident.

Gravel asked him straight up if it scared his that his daughter is dating a sports figure.
“What do you think, Steve? Your daughter is dating a professional athlete, does that scare you?”
“It did in the beginning,” Harvey answered. “But then I had him followed.”
The crowd laughed and clapped and he added, “She didn’t know. She knows now. But when she found out she was upset.”
He said he asked her, “What you trippin’ for? I’m trying to help you. You think he cute, I don’t. You find him attractive. The boy is just a boy to me.”

This is one of my favorite team goals we've scored in FIFA. A very Pep-esque counter.
This was a bonkers cup game -- other team got a goal in the 90th minute after we were a man down to tie it 4-4 and send it to ET. We scored this to go up 5-4 and then ended up winning 8-4 somehow. Don't remember ever seeing this many goals in a game before.
By Plasma Go To PostI thought Liverpool were supposed to have the best record in the top 6 table.
Christ.
Cuadrado, Matuidi and Dybala out for JUV - TOT, Douglas Costa at half service, if that. Basically the four dynamic players we have (plus Bernardeschi, but I doubt he'll start tomorrow) that are capable of making us switch gears. We are already dead.
Congrats Scum.
