Not me.
By Smokey Go To PostBought the Arctis 7 for $99.
Steelseries
Sennheiser
Corsair
Logitech
Headsets from each now :x
The sound isn't the best, but overall good enough if it's for gaming. But man, it just starts feeling horrible to have on after a few hours. Not a fan of that head strap thing they use.

Not a terrible price. But I want that 2tb version, hopefully there is some local deals tomorrow.
I have the coupon to get these deals. Let me know if anyone wants them: https://gaming.kinesis-ergo.com/cyber-vip/?mc_cid=cc5bf19221&mc_eid=f7b483b509
I'm zeroing in on the component list for the "work" peesee.
I'm pretty happy with what I got so far for ~400€ with shipping. Which leaves about 50€ for the case.
Not sure whether I want a midi or a mini tower.

I can hit you with 8Gb of Corsair LPX for less. 2x4Gb, 3000mhz. PM me if you want it.
You don't appreciate how many different PC components at different prices there are until you're given a super tight budget.
By Adam Go To PostWhy not 2200Gon sale for $65 right now
By Adam Go To PostWhy not 2200GI thought about it, but since I can fit the much faster 2600 inside my budget ... Also, I checked a couple of benchmarks and the Vega part is not nearly as appealing as I thought. I would end up compromising heavily on both the CPU and GPU end, which does not agree with me.
We can always buy a used 1060 gtx later on, if we decide we can't live without gaming at work. Saw the 3GB variant going for ~100€ over here.
Was getting some stuttering in Siege, fixed it (disabled fuilscreen optimization and switched to boarderless).
Ooooooeeeeee, this shit feels smoother and looks better now at a capped 100-117FPS/4K than it ever did on my R5 1600 at 140-180FPS/1080p. Absolutely a game changer for me and I don't think I will or could ever play this any other way now.

By Laboured Go To PostAny good pre-built deals?I heard Walmart are pretty good.
Never heard of this title, but the RTX effects look good, and definitely add to the overall presentation. Looks like it's running at 15fps in some parts though.
Definitely interested in seeing what the Metro guys have going with some time for additional optimization after E3.
Wolfenstein 2 has received RTX support too. Well, more specifically, Turing architecture support with content-adaptive shading.
https://techreport.com/review/34269/testing-turing-content-adaptive-shading-with-wolfenstein-ii-the-new-colossus
A small bump in performance with seemingly no downside? What's not to like?
At least in the case of Wolfenstein II—already an incredibly well-optimized and swift-running game—content-adaptive shading provides anywhere from two to five more FPS on average for the RTX 2070, three to six more FPS on average for the RTX 2080, and one to six more FPS on average for the RTX 2080 Ti, depending on whether one chooses the quality, balanced, or performance preset in the game's advanced options. 99th-percentile frame times correspondingly come down as a result at any preset, but the technique isn't going to turn an RTX 2070 into an RTX 2080, for example, or an RTX 2080 into an RTX 2080 Ti.
What's really impressive, though, is that even to my jaded graphics-reviewer eye, I saw practically no difference in image quality at 4K when moving between each preset. I would happily run the balanced or performance presets for this feature anywhere it was available. If there's a catch to having CAS on at this resolution, I didn't see one, and the minor increases to average frame rates and decreases in 99th-percentile frame times are appreciated when trying to get the most out of a 4K display.

it is expensive relatively when a $10 generic mouse can last for longer than a year without falling apart
already contacted logitech, waiting for a reply, but I ordered another mouse till then since I hear they take ages to replace them.
Running 2x 8gb of 2666MHz atm. Worth getting two more and running 32gb? The exact model is fairly cheap the next few days. I do love having lots of shit open, especially doing stuff while playing football manager at the same time.
Going for a Samsung 2tb SSD as well. No m2 though, just not lad enough for that.
Edit: Actually just noticed it's CL16 and my old ones are CL15. Think I am going to drop the ram for now, and just upgrade when I actually really need it.

It wouldn't make a noticeable difference unless you do content creation or other similar work. But it will fill your slots and you like your slots filled right m8?

Started NMS again after the Visions update. I may have to create a new save file, start over, and come back to this one. Shits confusing when you take an extended break and don't remember anything. Still had my presets from when I had my 1060 card running at 1080p (disgusting af, Idk how I did for that long). Basically set at medium settings. I put everything to max and 4k, and for the most part I was getting 60fps. Dropped a few times to upper 50s but would spike back up to like 70ish, so I chocked that up to NMS just being NMS. Really wish they'd give the PC version HDR. Looked so good on the One X.
edit - I think this DF video was right after NEXT hit in July
I had tessellation enabled and at Ultra, wonder if that's a cause for some of the spikes I was seeing.

I did the exact same thing earlier and went through the same thought process. Same perf with everything set to max too,

wow
Didn’t buy much in the sales. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey was pretty tempting for £30ish but I’m putting that off for a while longer.
Ended up buying the Wolfenstein games instead. I enjoyed TNO when I played it on PS4, so got that, The Old Blood and the second game all for about £15.
Picked up the XCOM 2 expansion earlier in the week too.
On an another note, Siege is taking up way too much install space nowadays. The base game weighs in at around 65Gb. The test server is 75Gb on top of that. Absurd for a multiplayer game

Never thought I’d get to the point where I look down my nose at a 1080Ti and consider it a mid tier GPU, but here we are.
Is Asus PG279Q still the way to go, if you want 27" 16:9 IPS 1440p 144hz+ g-sync ... or is there something better / cheaper out there?
EDIT: Yeah, looks like it, which is crazy.

Some nice deals still going on 2080Ti's, mate. You can join the Slaent Elite for just ten ninety nine!
I wouldn't play on low, I believe it can strangely actually put extra work on the CPU. Try medium at least..

Apparently some people are now getting better performance with DX12? Definitely wasn't the case in the beta, wrapper and all. Will try.

It depends, if the GPU is the bottleneck then lowering the settings will alleviate that and put more strain on the CPU as it has to ready up more frames than it did previously. At, 3440x1440p, even with a 1080Ti I don't think his CPU will be getting waxed too hard.
Speaking of BFV, just tried out the free trial.
4K, HDR, all ultra settings. It’s like I skipped ahead a generation or two. It looks incredible. Gonna try out the RTX shit tomorrow.
