someone might try to steal your megahertz or download your RAM.
By Smokey Go To PostThe Asus PG27UQ is delayed again until Q3, which means 2019. Ridiculous. By the time it releases, it will have been 2 years since it was unveiled.
Incredibly triggered by this.
can chose between cloth or hard texture for the surface.
so logitech, corsair, and razer all have solutions that charge your wireless mouse, with corsair's requiring you to place it in the upper right hand corner for charge, which i don't like.
the razer is the only one that charges and provides RGB to the mouse pad :)

kinda tempted to go AMD solely for the sake of free sync monitors which tend to be cheap AF compared to gsync
AMD is only competitive in the low to mid-range GPU market right now, and thats ignoring that their prices are probably even more inflated than Nvidia GPU's.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postkinda tempted to go AMD solely for the sake of free sync monitors which tend to be cheap AF compared to gsync
i've thought the exact same thing. there's way more options in monitors with freesync.
but then i look at amd vs nvidia benchmarks
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postkinda tempted to go AMD solely for the sake of free sync monitors which tend to be cheap AF compared to gsyncIn my experience, g sync is pretty meh. On a 144hz monitor and playing anything at over 100FPS I don’t even notice any tearing without g sync.
Even with it on, frame drops are still noticeable anyway. Feels like such an expensive and excessive feature for PCs. The only use I’ve found for it is if I cap a game to 60FPS and only have minor 1-2fps dips, it makes that smoother. For the most part I could just play without the cap and have generally the same experience.
By Dark PhaZe Go To Postyea, I may just get a non g-sync 144 hz monitor and stick with nvidiaWhen I eventually upgrade, that’s exactly my plan.
By Adam Go To PostIs there a good 1440p 144 hz G-sync 27-28 inch monitor out there currently?Yeah lots of those, even 165hz IPS ones.
By dIEHARD Go To PostYeah lots of those, even 165hz IPS ones.
Ooh, got some links?

You can save around ~$200 by going TN, but if you use it for desktop stuff very much or games besides shooters i would still say its worth it.
Looks like Intel announced a consumer friendly Optane 800P for $199 (112GB). It's by far the fastest SSD on the market but it sounds like it's coming down in price.

The 900p trades wins with the 960 Pro, just depends on the scenario.
The 800p is weird, i honestly don't know what market they are going after, I don't know if i would recommend it in any situation really.
By reilo Go To PostSorry, I meant the Optane line was the fastest, not the 800P specifically.Ahh yeah it's not quite what Intel was hyping it to be but it's at least becoming an legit option for the enterprise and should probably be one soon for consumers.

God yes.

Should I have waited?
The final piece that was missing from my Corsair ecosystem
I'm back on my Corsair setup, but was still using the Logitech G533 wireless headset. That required me to have two pieces of software running in the background, Corsair CUE and Logitech Gaming software. Now I'll obviously only need to roll with one piece of software. Whenever I want to go back to full wireless, I have my Logitech G900, G613 Keyboard, and G533 headset.
One more piece to the Corsair RGB setup too :)

It's RGB, so it's automatically better than the G533.
Ended up impulse buying a complete system that a local store had seemingly mispriced, needs more ram but hey.
ASRock Z370 Pro4
i7 8700K
Random 700w psu (will switch for one of my spare 1200i's)
16gb ddr4 (will add more at some point)
GeForce 1080TI FE
500gb Corsair SSD
4tb Seagate HDD
Was priced at 110,000 yen, which works out to roughly $1030, which considering the spec was too good to pass up, still in the market for a higher end rig for work, but for a spare for gaming or to node for future renders and such, nice.

It was brought up a few posts ago, but with the news that the One X will now officially support Freesync/Freesync 2 displays, I'm seriously considering getting one. My One X is often hooked up to my monitor in my office (it is now), and there seems to be way more choices available to you when going with Freesync vs Gsync.

So many games with wonky frame pacing, or drops from 60FPS will see a benefit from it.
The Corsair does seem to be a bit more comfortable on my head than the Logitech G533.
I love the RGB on the outside too, than you'll never see when playing. The only time you see it integrated with everything else is when it's on the (rgb) stand lol

I don't want to derail but this might have some RGB tech in it somewhere,
Philips seems to be focusing the Brilliance 492P8 for productivity, rather than gaming; there’s no mention of support for either AMD’s FreeSync or Nvidia’s G-Sync, or what the response time or refresh rate are. Philips is offering some information on specs, promising a 1800R curvature, up to 600 nits brightness, and up to 5000:1 contrast ratio. The port selection is also promising, with DisplayPort, HDMI, USB-C, VGA, USB 3.0, and Ethernet all supported.
Just messing around on Pcpartpicker, it would cost me about $1,500 to move to a z370 i7 8700k system, and that's with 4 parts: 8700k, Maximus x code motherboard, Corsair 32GB RAM, Evo 960 500GB m.2 ssd.
The fact that the 8700k is only 6c/12t, something I've been on for years, is somewhat pushing me to the x299/i9 range tbh. If I'm going to upgrade if at least like to go up in core count vs making a lateral move but onto a newer platform than what I'm on.
e: x299 rig with 10c i9 7900x, rog strictly x299-e, and 32GB RAM, but no 960 is $1,700.
That looks more intriguing to me, and I have 2 ssds and a HDD already, but looking to move completely away from mechanical drives in the next build.

$1,000. :v

Nvidia next you, Turing, won't hit until Q3

https://www.tweaktown.com/news/61177/nvidias-next-gen-turing-gpu-mass-production-q3-2018/index.html
NVIDIA will be launching their next generation GPU architecture in Q3 2018, with a new report from DigiTimes and their sources saying that Turing will "not enter the mass production until the third quarter". NVIDIA is currently expected to unveil the new Turing GPU architecture at GTC 2018, but there could be a few months between its detailing and public roll out.
DigiTimes reports that NVIDIA will be "forbidding" AIB partners to "publicly promote cryptocurrency mining activities or actively sell its consumer graphics cards to miners". NVIDIA wants to move the focus away from cryptomining and back to gaming, which has been in a very sore place for the last 6-8 months.
