Scan and OcUk have stock for the 2080Ti now. Asus Dual on Scan and the Gigabyte Gaming OC at OcUk. There's 10+ cards in stock of the latter, I'm feeling these aren't going to be super scare or hard to get a hold of.

Would you say this is as powerful as a 1080ti?
By Laboured Go To PostWould say this is as powerful as a 1080ti?It's slightly behind an Xbox One X, so should be roughly equivalent to the 3090Ti that's coming next year.
I did love the Strix design. It would've been a close call if it was available day 1 with the EVGA 2080Tis.
My 1060 will be a great backup card going forward.

My backup card is a 560Ti, m8. Not worth using, not worth selling. Fucking stuck with it.
Lowering settings are for those who have yet to achieve Ascension, but I will take a look anyway. Fully maxed out, with HDR, and with settings enabled beyond the Highest Preset, I'm still ~65fps with my OC.
Fuck it, I'm putting my 1080 up for sale. If anyone bites at 400€, I'm getting a second hand 1080ti.
Overclockers put the price up to £1400 on the lower end 2080Ti’s as soon as they came in stock. Absolute scumbaggery.

I really need to buy a cheapo backup graphics card for times like this. Used to have a couple of them lying around, used them all when building or repairing computers for family members and relatives. I really should start charging these fuckers.

By HottestVapes Go To Post2080Ti purchased lads. Went with the dual slot Gigabyte card.
Welcome Vapes!
When does it arrive?
By diehard Go To PostHey Adam if you haven't purchased that PSU, the 850w G3 is $90 right now in most places.
Just ordered from Newegg. Thanks. 👍🏼
By Smokey Go To PostWelcome Vapes!Tomorrow. I camped the Nvidia reddit for stock updates yesterday, eBuyer hit me with that goodness.
When does it arrive?
Gonna be an adventure getting it inside my case tomorrow. Crossing my fingers it won’t require a full disambly to get fitted.
I'll be honest though, it's a redundant purchase until I get a 4K monitor to go along with it.
My 1080 is already choked in some games at 1080p by my Ryzen 1600, I'm fully expecting the 2080Ti to sit at 50% utilization in some games without down-scaling from a higher res.

Thoughts on blower style cards, lads? How much noisier are they? Never had one. Don't really care about overclocking headroom.
There are a couple of MSI Aero 1080ti OC cards up for sale around my parts, as well as some FEs, and the price is ... tempting.

Which is not the fucking point. You don't release a serious pc build video and then wave away criticisms

They’re great if you get them cheap, take the blower cooler off and slap an Accelero 3/Morpheus 2/Kraken G12 on them.
Other than that, ask Laboured since I’m sure Scan fobbed him off with a blower 1080Ti

If the difference between a blower and dual fan is only like 20 raheems though, I’d say there’s no reason to go for the blower.
I was pretty tempted by the Asus blower 2080Ti since aesthetically, it looked great and the original price for it was significantly cheaper than the other dual slot and dual fan cards.

That fan sounds like an afterburner tho, so idk. Aftermarket cooler might not be such a bad idea after all.
Found a Gigabyte Gaming OC with 24 months of warranty left on it for a reasonable price. Not the greatest or the quietest cooler, but it might just do. I'm a bit weary of Gigabyte these days and in general tho. The only PC components that ever failed me were Gigabyte products. Still ...

You could trial the blower card, and if you're not happy with the noise and temps then the aftermarket cooler is an option. They're girthy tho, keep that in mind.
The Accelero IV is even worse with that massive passive heatsink on the back side. I'd have to check, but I very much doubt it would fit under my massive BeQuiet Dark Rock Pro 4. The III would. Great cooling and sound performance tho. You can pretty much run it at 1000rpm and stay below 70°C.
Slaent I need help. All I do is play CS, I love the game but it’s just not fun to play anymore since I have no one to play with and the community is terrible.
I told myself to never install CS when I built my PC a few months ago and it worked for like a month but I fell into the trap.

I'd recommend PUBG, but the trajectory will be the same.

All about the same for ease of installation, but the G12 will give you more PCIE clearance since it'll only take up around 2 slots.

All good products, I'm just not convinced it's worth it, when I can get something like the aforementioned Gigabyte for ~40€ less than what a cheapo 1080ti + accelero III would cost me. And I wouldn't have to worry about voiding the warranty and such. I'll sleep on it.

If you put it back to stock, the warranty should be unaffected, but other than that I can see why you'd be put off since it is undue hassle. If you wanted the absolute best for temps and noise levels, then it's worth it but it comes at a cost (heatsink plus two quality fans is around £100).
If you want something that's just good enough, go for dual or triple fan.
I'm in camp "just good enough", that's why I went with the Gigabyte Windforce 2080Ti. Dual slot, triple fan. Shit will do me fine.

Idk. When it first came out I loved it. Installed it when I built my PC and I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much.
