We literally have waited almost a year to finish due to cryptocurrency BS.

Don't know the best place to put this, but I want to share because I'm proud of myself doing a simple thing. I am doing something actually server-like with my home server. I just finished turning it into a local DNS server so that I can access my devices with a simple name instead of IP address without having to modify the HOSTS file on four different computers.
I am also forwarding all non-local requests to the Clean Browsing malware-filtering-only DNS server. They offer other DNS servers to filter out adult content and such, but I just wanted that first layer of protection against things harmful to my computer instead of things harmful to impressionable minds. If anyone wants to try it out, the IPs are 185.228.168.9 and 185.228.169.9.

The QBX next to it is around 20~ litres in volume (178 x 291 x 384mm), the A4 is 7.2 litres (205 x 112 x 327mm).
I'm sacking a lot of CPU overclock performance, but fuck it. Shit looks dope and I'm happy with that. Gone with an NH-L9a for the cooler, hoping to mount a 120mm fan on it somehow and see how far I can reasonably push it (hopefully around 3.6Ghz).
By Laboured Go To PostIf they make custom length/super short ones, I'm down for buying some.
Edit: They're cable extensions, not full custom cables? I'm out.
they were on yesterdays GamersNexus video and it sounds like they are interested in consumer feedback, probably not for sure going to market yet.

lots of cool stuff at Computex... 32 core Threadripper 2, crazy ass 28 core 5.0ghz Xeon, Novec based cooling in the PC market, and tons of new products for just about everything. This is way better than E3 for me.

By Kibner Go To PostYou were there?oh lol no i wish, i just mean its more fun for me to read about new stuff from Computex than read about games from E3. Sorry, i didn't word it well.
It's been over two years since Nvidia launched its current generation of GeForce gaming GPUs powered by the Pascal architecture, so you could have been forgiven for expecting the successor to have surfaced around Computex this week. According to CEO Jensen Huang, however, there's still a while to wait. Speaking to reporters at a roundtable in Taipei, Huang answered a query about the next GeForce GPUs by saying that “it's a long time from now.”.

i think i'm more interested in those things, too
i didn't realize it until a couple weeks ago, but the usb standard is a mess right now. current 3.0 used to be 3.1, current 3.1 is trying to do so much stuff and isn't widely supported, yet.
By RobNBanks Go To PostWhy what happened
Prices are still artificially high. Going on 2+ years of the same tech. Next revisions aren't coming anytime soon. 4k is being pushed, but the GPU tech isn't quite there because of the above reasons.

Proud moment
CallsignVega who I deeply respect when it comes to displays, has the Predator X27. His thoughts...

People are starting to get these monitors in. Going to go through and read some more impressions.
The FALD speed is actually very snappy in "Gaming" mode. It is basically unusable in "desktop" mode unless all you are looking at is pictures. Playing some, Resident Evil 7 in HDR, the blooming/haloing is quite significant. My C8 OLED just destroys the X27 in dark games as to be expected.
If you turn off the FALD backlight in SDR, the X27 panel has basically the worst IPS glow/BLB I've ever seen on a monitor. You are basically required to keep the FALD on at all times. It does work though, as the contrast ratio and picture richness appears far greater than without it.
This chassis fan though... boy... as I sit here in the morning drinking my coffee and listening to the fan. At least it is a steady sound and it doesn't spin up and down/change pitch that would be super annoying. My biggest worry is what happens to these monitors in a couple years when these fans fail? I assume they have some fan rpm/sensor or temp sensor. Will the monitors just shut down until the fan is replaced?

Interesting. Looks like I'mma wait atm.
For £2000+ it would pretty much have to grant me 3 wishes on top of being best in class in almost every metric. Seems far from it thus far.

But are they RGB?
They should've renamed it Caseputex this year because they've all been fire.

By diehard Go To PostYeah i wish they hadn't shown that Evolv X. Makes my Evolv ATX look cruddy :(
Although a bit bigger, that Ophion case with metal panels on does make me regret my DAN case a bit. Just for the added CPU cooler clearance alone, the extra size is worth it. Plus it's cheaper. I reckon it and the bigger version will be really popular cases in the future. Good layouts, small, nice look to them.
-Uses tech called MiniLED
-1000 zones of local dimming
-Achieves HDR10 compliance, HLG, and working on Dolby Vision with 1400 nits of peak brightness
it's about time HDR starts really cooking in the PC monitor space
A RGB PSU WITH A SCREEN ON IT
The Evolv X looks gorgeous. I think it's about time to move away from my Air 540.
Digging the Corsair 280x too. A smaller case that is still able to house a powerhouse is super appealing to me
MiniLED, eh? OLED on monitors is a pipe dream, microLED is at least 3 years away, probably more. Sure, I'll take it, price permitting. DENIED.
Not really a super fan of the Evolv X aesthetic, not anymore. It hasn't aged all that well.
The batteries on my Logitech G613 lasted about 4-5 months.
