The hope for a blue wave taking control of the Lower House is really the only counter-checkmate we have to Pence? Damn, we went from having Obama to barely having anything at all. We're barely hanging on. Ain't that some shit.
By DY_nasty Go To PostThat really got you bothered when they still can't even get on the same page internally about something as easy as protecting Mueller lol
But if you want to apply full spectrum perspective to an article you quote that says "trump should be doing much better :3" after the best year long trainwreck in most people's lifetime then like I said, sure.
I mean, when I respond seriously and you just go “lol ok” ...
The article doesn’t say what you’re claiming here either. You’re removing the economical context of our argument and paraphrasing. Again, he’s the only POTUS since Johnson to poll under 50 while having good economy. It’s not shocking he’s not sub 30.
By Fenderputty Go To PostI mean, when I respond seriously and you just go “lol ok” …the economical context would maybe kinda sorta work if you had a president that wasn't hiding his first lady in a secret bunker, putting unarmed national guard troops to defend a wall that's only there in spirit, popping shit with nukes, and doing barrel rolls every time he opens his mouth, etc and so on

All of that stuff is why he’s not polling in the 60’s though. A first term potus with a hot economy being sub 50 and into the high 30’s is literally unheard of. Which is why I said it’s remarkable. Acting like he should be sub 30’s of not for those shitty Dems is silly
I even agree with you on the depressing part. Reality is often depressing
By Smoke Dogg Go To PostI didn't watch the interview, but apparently Comey said that impeaching Trump would let Americans off the hook.
That's some weird masochistic shade being thrown.

Yea.............
America does kinda/sorta deserves to have its ass shown like this. We put in overtime for this chaos ending. We already put down the $60 on this no mans sky. Now we gotta endure this trainwreck........
By blackace Go To PostGrowing? Been shrinking for quite a time… which is why they have resorted to importing labor. The problem is they still don't seem like they want that labor to stay
:'(
So I’ve been reading some speculation that Cohen knew he didn’t have privilege with Hannity but tossed it out there as a hail marry. If the judge agreed then that ruling could be applied more broadly to what Cohen considers privileged documentation. Of course this speculation assumes that Hannity is telling the truth lol

Conservatives will now hate Gorsuch for all of time.
Out of everything, wasn't immigration the one area he wasn't in lock step with conservatives?
By Fenderputty Go To PostOut of everything, wasn't immigration the one area he wasn't in lock step with conservatives?
I don't recall, to be honest. Though my general working conspiracy theory of the conservative illuminati is that they always need to maintain a 5-4 court split, often enough in favor of more liberal views. What they most certainly cannot do, for example, is completely overturn Roe v. Wade, and do so with a huge majority, as what would then motivate white evangelicals to vote? Their best winning campaign is still having white evangelicals hopping mad over "murdered babies."
The conservative justices are in on the ruse and act accordingly.

They're saying this looks like Brady. I don't really see the resemblance.

Unrelated: Someone get protective detail for Maggie Haberman in case Trump starts testing the fences.
In case you hadn't seen it, two men were apparently waiting at a Starbucks in Philadelphia, bothering no one other than one wanting to use the restroom, when a store employee called police on them. You know, "waiting while black." There have been subsequent protests.
(The employee is no longer employed by Starbucks.)
Pretty quick response from the company considering the scope of the shutdown. Calling the cops against that black man goes against everything Starbucks tried to do with their communal / WiFi for all approach.
That being said. One day of internal bias training doesn’t seem like it’s going to have much effect. Firing the employees responsible might

yeh you're never going to deprogram people with a day of training. He might never call the cops on a black guy again, but inside he'll still have his racial bias against them.
By Lunatic Go To Postlol like Starbucks cares. They just want to get ahead of the story. They know their market.i ain't even mad. good on them lol

Right? They built this community feel. Where else does one go to drink 3$ of coffee and get 8 hours of free WIFI?

If they want to do training to make sure all employees are familiar with the code of conduct i.e. in which circumstances they should/should not phone the police, then go ahead but bias training is a buzzword that accomplishes nothing.

A store in the same area of Philadelphia was hit with an armed robbery recently, the official said....

They were waiting for someone, and wanted to use the restroom, which I'm assuming is password protected. They didn't buy anything and the policy is likely that the password is for paying customers only.
This is a clear case of one piece of shit on a power trip. I saw the dudes, they were not bums or troublemaker looking motherfuckers. I'm sure they were taken aback by the absurdness of their request and then things escalated from there to where the cops were called.
It's the garbage police who should be in training. Showing up and throwing bracelets on dudes who are clearly not worth their time. And then their commanding officer going to bat for them talking about how they followed the letter of the law. Get the fuck out of here. Starbucks has fired their employee already, the city should do the same for all the cops involved.

Breh, I've walked into plenty Starbucks to take a piss without ordering anything and they hand those bathroom codes out like it was nothing. Literally only thing I came to do was to use the restroom and it was fine lol
By Randolph Freelander Go To PostBathroom codes are a thing? I go to many a Starbucks and have never seen this.I've seen it in many places and not just bucks, it's just an easier way to do it than a key. When you're right by a well traveled area or street it probably comes in handy. One of the places I know of that has one is right by a bus stop and a liquor store.
In SF, especially any Starbucks near Union Square (there's so many) you can find plenty of bums just hanging out and not being kicked out as long as they aren't bothering anybody.
I'm wondering just how long those dudes sat before that manager (which I've never seen in my fucking life at any coffee shop) came over to ask them to order or gtfo.

Y'all need more trust in your retail establishments. I've never been to place where you'd need a key to get into an unoccupied bathroom .. at the very least, not one that's inside.

Yeah, that's my only frame of reference, even then, that's mostly for restrooms entered from the outside, and who the blue hell wants to use one of those anyway.

(McConnell believes Trump and the GOP by extension will be able to get away with firing Mueller.)
Why hasn't he done it yet then? Part of me thinks the GOP upper brass is telling him not to, or else? What else could be stopping him? If he doesn't fear his party he should have no fears at all.
I don't know, I just don't think Republicans will do anything should it happen. They'll end up on Fox News expressing sadness that it came to this, while adding they've been troubled by the process and reports of bias within the FBI, etc. At every turn, they've buckled, and they'll do it again.
