This seems abnormal. I mean, if something positive comes from this, sure. But like, secret meetings between trumps CIA stooge and NK wouldn’t be the vehicle I would assume delivers peace.
what about missiles not flying over japan anymore is bad
ffs its the cia director doing things in secret. if he can't who can wtf

Like I said, if something positive comes from this, sure.
It just seems like an odd channel of communication and I reflexively don’t trust any of Trump’s right hand men.
You think this meeting is why missles aren’t flying over Japan? You think that bodes well for future talks? I don’t think NK ever negotiates in good faith.
By Fenderputty Go To PostLike I said, if something positive comes from this, sure.Neither does Trump, tbh. Guy seems to back out of any deal he's involved in for no reason whatsoever. The North Koreans probably think the same that the other side isn't negotiating in good faith and have shown they can't be trusted.

and if the move is denuclearization and a shift of the pacific theater then something that's pretty uncommon, then you'e gonna have to wing some things here and there
the huge positive even temporary is no more missiles flying over our allies. why downplay that. it was a kind of a big deal

I’m not down playing anything. I asked you in complete seriousness if you thought the lack of flying missles is a result of this meeting. I ask because I hadn’t considered this until you brought it up and would agree it’s a positive.
The move to decnuclearization is the part where NK negotiates in bad faith.
Are we happy with that? Like isn’t short term gaps of relative peace while NK gets sanctions loosened and plows along as always how we got here? Nobody really thinks they’re gonna stop, do they?
The irony is that I’ve always been against a preemptive strike because I don’t think NK is stupid enough to use them.

INSTANT UPDATE: I have to move.

Charlotte City Council Member LaWana Mayfield questioned whether the 9-11 terrorist attacks were real in a social media post Monday, saying she is "still waiting for someone to produce pieces of the alleged plane."
Mayfield, a Democrat who represents west Charlotte, linked to an article on the website Awarenessact.com that stated: "It’s Official: European Scientific Journal Concludes 9/11 Was A Controlled Demolition."
The first sentence of the article states, "Ever since the moment that the towers fell, people have been saying that it was a controlled demolition. Now we might have academic evidence to prove the theory as fact!"
In her link to the article, Mayfield stated, "I am still waiting for someone to produce pieces of the alleged plane that opened the doors for US Citizens to loose all privacy rights (from the conspiracy theorist in me)."
Mayfield was first elected to the District 3 seat in 2011.
Last month, Mayfield sent a tweet that suggested a candidate for public office had posted photos of his genitals on Grindr, a cellphone dating app for gay men.
“Question for You all. When candidates and those that are extremely judgmental have a @Grindr page with pictures of their private parts should that be fair game? BTW #grindr is a same-sex site #knowwhoyoumaybevoting4.”
Mayfield said she wasn’t talking about anyone in particular. She said she was upset at what she believes are hypocritical public officials, and that the tweet was hypothetical.
How's Seattle these days? Sonics still any good?

The shitty thing about SS is that it’s mostly boomers who are voting for the party that wants to privatize SS. In the meantime, the boomers are undersaving for retirement. They’re also the first gen that won’t create a pyramid like structure with regards to age. So the younger gen will have to figure out how to take care of a larger percentage of old people than previous gens. Well do so with less upward mobility because boomers undersaved and are working later than they should be too.

Breh 2008 was good for me. If the crash never happened I would have never bought my first house here (bought FHA). I would have never had the equity to continue to upgrade as prices have gone up. First house was in Ontario CA for 262k. Sold that for 333k. Bought in Chino Hill for 446k and will be trying to sell this summer after the remodel for around 575k. Prices in Tustin / Costa Mesa are 750-800k for me and I will be married to that mortgage even with the 20% down

I was reading about this earlier. Seems like it could be a positive for future US / Cuba relations? What market changes are they talking about?
If any attempts at housing do not prioritize low income and long time residents specifically then fuck 'em. Without provisions to ensure that housing remains affordable and goes to those who need it you're just going to get overpriced condos, airbnbs and vacant foreign investments.

And all the literature and research dedicated to the effects of the 07 housing bubble collapse show that recession and recovery almost always funnel even more wealth toward the rich and the 1%.

It was just a personal anecdote and that's it. I realize investors made the most money of the 08 crash and I realize a lot of people suffered as well. Most of my friends that own houses all bought in that time frame though. It's just a reality in California. One of my friends bought a condo before the crash and they are still upside down. One of my friends was a loan shark during the boom. He lost his house, job, car etc. He was able to buy again but only with massive family help.

Honestly how do bubbles keep happening if the wealth is supposed to be so super concentrated?
Sorry for ignorance.
Sorry for ignorance.
Because systems of credit and loans are bound to be fucked especially if the loans created were gonna be defaulted on.

The current bubble in California has little to do with this. I mean I suppose this bubble is the result of the 2008 crash that has to do with this, but that’s about it.
The bubbles themselves are over inflated valuations of things but shit gets further compounded and crashes because of fraud and defaults. And then we just do the same shit over because it makes people money and lets others trade up. We're going to come to a crisis where we're actually going to have to come to grips with credit/debt and the continuation of basic housing as investments.
By Fenderputty Go To PostWere not “doing the same shit over” in Cali. Loans post 2008 aren’t bad.I wouldn't go that far. Mortgages definitely aren't going to be the issue now but Consumer credit has been bad for a while now. (ask Lending Club, lol) But looks like it's stabilized a bit recently.
