By Laboured Go To PostUSA are leaving the UN Human Rights council. Seig heil boys.
Because they have the audacity to call out the political state of Israel on their bullshit, and we don't also want them calling us out on ours.
(Plus they may as well have some bullshit of their own.)
Why I let Domino’s fill my city’s potholes
While some streets are maintained by the state, the majority are the responsibility of this 10,000-resident city. A street maintenance backlog meant that while about half of Milford’s streets were in good or satisfactory condition, the rest were rated fair, poor, very poor or serious.U.S. in a nutshell.
Delaware prides itself on being a low-tax state, a policy that has attracted residents who expect excellent services with few, if any, tax increases.
It's hilarious how jobs are going away but there's plenty of infrastructure that isn't and is crumbling.
American priorities.
American priorities.
When WWIII kicks in you guys will have "other people" to build your infrastructure for you, tax free. Don't sweat it.
I hear there are some Central and South Americans looking for work but somehow bypassing Mexico's border and missing that booming economy on the way to America. I wonder why that is? Hint: Mexico doesn't want that shit either.

I’m glad you’ve taken this up. God speed.
By Randolph Freelander Go To PostIt's appalling to think people might come here and grow our economy.its weird how we go from housing, schools, employment issues, etc for weeks at a time then somehow say "more people would make things easier"
we don't want to pay for the social services and whatnot as is.... the obvious answer is that the median drops faster than it already has.
edit: these title changes give me life

I haven't once suggested leaving the fiscal policy to the idiots (both sides!) as we increase our immigration numbers, if you'll note. Particularly troubling when coming from the left. The next Democrat to lament about "borrowing from China" or "putting it on the national credit card" can stuff it. (Includes Obama and Clinton talking points, I might add.)

Which is ridiculous. This is one planet, we are one race of people, and not one of us had any agency regarding the circumstances of our births. Nothing on this rock is ours for the keeping, certainly not the land below our feet. I don't care where you were born, if you want to be here, then come!
For a "nation of immigrants" that calls itself "a shining city on a hill" and says "give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free," for it then to turn those people away, it's fucking outrageous. Let them in. We'll work together to make it work.

Only as a deterrent, though. Against what, I don't know.
"nation of immigrants" is about as accurate as us "spreading democracy and ending tyranny"
yes, in the broadest strokes both are true. but in actuality this nation has stomped minorities and immigrants into the fucking dirt every step of the way and continues to do so UNLESS you've got the money/skills/overall value to hit the ground running (in which case you didn't even need the US in particular). currently its easier for one side of the isle to deal with new downtrodden than the existing downtrodden that's evolved past short memory syndrome because they can't hand out another crack epidemic and blatantly kill off community leaders.
how grateful the new cheap labor will be. unlike the old, ungrateful cheap labor. huzzah

This is a nation that basically exploited the fuck outta even more vulnerable immigrant groups the moment the current one talked of organizing and doing more for worker's safety.
If you're suggesting that all the platitudes we hold true about America are actually bullshit, then I don't think anyone is going to disagree. (It's like "MAGA." Point to just one damn time in history this country was "great." You're going to have to ignore a whole lot of bullshit to name one. Though we know it to generally be a dog whistle, obviously.)
im just saying its not fair to suddenly drop the realism we apply to other issues then act like this is some holy duty no matter how you cut it. whether you want to be a racist knob about it or consider it a weird moral obligation, fact remains that this feeds into a machine of exploitation that is wholly unchecked and won't ever be addressed until the process slows. there's only so many repairs you can make to a vehicle while its in motion.
and that economy stuff is either bs or is built by people with blinders on
-teachers don't even get paid and have strikes in a different state every month, our teachers need to be a priority. bigger classes fuck it
-there's a nationwide housing crisis looming, we need cheaper housing. add more people
-automation is a direct threat to employment in many sectors. *shrug*
that's not even everything, but what's the sum of all these parts?
there's a host of issues that people in this thread complain about, and open borders immigration policies directly conflict with them all. i'd be more inclined to roll with the "families are separated!" bit, but between the fake news fuel with a random kid in a dog cage and a broad disinterest in acknowledging that arrests in general break up families i'm just not inclined to jump out of my seat.

hey maybe if people focused on how the executive branch got this powerful in the first place and what's needed to dismantle it, then maybe they'd stop acting like trump is the origin and you know.... be progressive or something

Stopping immigration isn't going to fix any of those other issues, either. You're still going to have NIMBYs and conservatives against spending a dime on anything (except the military) and misguided (charitable choice of word) liberals ("how will we ever pay for it? heavens to betsy...") fighting against all those other goals.
But the least we could do is stop being such obvious hypocrites.
Note: one way out of the hypocrisy is to ship the Statue of Liberty back to France. I mean, I guess there are several options on the table.
