Speaking of Ferrari, there special edition cars seem to hold there value much better than lambos and McLaren.
For example the 360 vs the 360 stradale and compare that to a Gallardo vs Gallardo superlagerra. The price difference is huge on the Ferrari.
The stradale and superlagerra are both raw and have carbon fiber fetish. But I think the stradale is on another lever, even though I dislike the base 360.
But for the price of a used ferrari 458s, used McLaren 650s or new nsx, would anyone crazy enough to get a stradale?

By reilo Go To PostI can't remember, was the Berlinetta a replacement for the 612?
No, the FF was - 612s were 4-seaters, the practical Ferraris.
F12 replaced the 599GTB.
Had a go in a Suzuki Alto Works yesterday, what a hoot. Incredibly spacious, way more than I was expecting. Plenty of room in the footwell for decent heel-toe shifts too. First time driving a RHD car for me, so the gearbox was a total mindfuck at first.
(the above one isn't the one I drove, this is the actual car I drove: https://www.instagram.com/p/Bb8g51RFPfC/?taken-by=mcc4130 )
The noises on the thing were hillarious, with the insane turbo woosh and blow off valve. It felt like driving an inside joke, except that it actually was spritely and fun. Guy is going to be fixing a number of things on it that are a bit iffy at the moment, can't wait to try it again when it's all finished.

By Smokey Go To PostIt is done. That's still a long time to keep a first model year 335i! You did well and probably got out at the right time. Get your other vehicle paid off and do some saving and then maybe it might be time for something new and exciting in the garage again.
The journey ends at 118,059 miles. She gone. 😪
The interior has also been updated for more refinement, particularly on the new Signature trim model. The sleeker interior design on all Mazda6s is joined by redesigned seats Mazda says are more comfortable. Those seats are now available with optional ventilation. A windshield-projected heads-up display, adaptive cruise control that can bring the car to a stop and resume accelerating, as well as an instrument panel with a configurable 7-inch screen are other options. The Signature trim also adds Nappa leather seats, UltraSuede accents on the doors, dash and seats, and real Sen wood trim.

Yeah, I'm generally pro Mazda 6, and that turbo 4 fixes the main complaint I had with the thing. Now if they can just stuff the thing in the CX-5, too...
@Smokey:
Volvo launched its new Care by Volvo subscription-based leasing service Wednesday at the L.A. Auto Show, making its brand-new 2019 XC40 the first vehicle available under the program, in which customers make a flat monthly payment that covers insurance, service and maintenance for 24 months, then exchange the car for a new model.
All-inclusive pricing starts at $600 per month for the XC40 Momentum package, before taxes and registration fees, and $700 per month for the R Design. Under the program, customers can go online and make an order, then drive away with their new car from a Volvo dealer without having to negotiate price, make a down payment or set up insurance. The program is launching nationwide in the U.S. and in seven European countries.

What the fuck. I need to show this to my mom...
Cars as subscriptions is going to be the new thing from luxury automakers. Porsche is doing something very similar here in Atlanta. I like the idea as long as everyone is comfortable with the idea of basically renting their vehicles and never having any equity in them. Luxury cars are such a huge money losing proposition anyway it might be time to forget the whole equity argument entirely anyway.
By rossonero Go To Post$700 though and that's just for a XC40.
$600 covers "insurance, service and maintenance"
Think about that.
By AlphaSnacks Go To Post$600 covers "insurance, service and maintenance"Sounds like the best thing for drivers that want an always fresh vehicle but leases don't work for them (high mileage, mainly).
Think about that.
Yeah, I totally see the appeal of that Volvo program. As optioned, the base unit winds up being close to 40K probably so the car payment would be around that much, anyway and the lease wouldn't be much cheaper. Add in insurance and maintenance on top of that and it's actually a pretty good deal if you don't intend to keep the car the whole time. Does make me wonder if there are cancellation fees and what those look like though.
Was getting gas earlier today and a porter from the nearby Mini Cooper dealer gave me a nod of approval...

Well, this is essentially a lease.
And it's also a high mileage one, 15K a year. Usually best lease deals are 12K. So I wonder if there's wiggle room on that $600

I was just going off that quote and now I am kinda disappointed that it is for "only" 15K. Still not enough for someone in my position and driving habits. :(

E; it's like 90% highway and interstate travel without stop and go traffic so the hours behind the wheel aren't quite as bad as it may seem at first glance
E2: my car says the average speed over 95k miles is 43 mph
Not quite as exciting as some of the cars here, but my wife ended up getting the 2014 Lexus ES300h from her parents. It's a steal for 20k no interest and 22k miles.
Not my exact cup of Lexus tea, but I don't mind. Whenever we go anywhere I drive so at least it will be comfortable for our daily commutes, especially compared to her current 05 Prius. And also especially in Bay Area traffic. Will get pics later.

Yup, anybody who hates on the regular Lexii have never fully experienced it imo. It's not S-Class or whatever, but they comfy af. If I had the option of keeping my Miata, I probably would've picked up an old GS for daily and then fulfill my dream of VIP'ing it lol.
Lmao what do you think I am? A lowly Scooby vape bro? Nah man, I'm classy af.
Joking aside, nah. I like to think the kid knows enough to recognize a performance package GTI lol. I wasn't even doing anything weird either... had my windows up and everything coz I was jamming to some K-Pop lmao.

Now it's back by my 86, in a new color and a body kit.. wonder if the wife will notice.

I just noticed, but did those american cars actually come in RHD, or is that a custom conversion?
Excuse the shitty Instagram pic but...
Awww yisss!!
Calling the shop first thing on Monday to see if I can get it installed ASAP.

As far as those Trans Ams go, I'm 99% sure GM didn't make any RHD from the factory. A few small companies probably had them imported, converted them, and then sold them. I've got a book with a bunch of old magazine articles that shows a new 77-78 T/A in Australia that's RHD. It doesn't say anything about who might have done the conversion, but it does say that the car cost about $25,000 when they were selling in America for around $10,000. I've also seen a few guys on a forum that have dealt with them and apparently some of the conversions can be pretty sketchy...

Yeah it's only been a few days but it's been great. I've always dreamed of importing a Toyota Crown and this is close lol.
Just a really relaxed, comfortable drive.

I just wonder how hard it would be when you don't have specific RHD parts to use and have to make your own. I figure some stuff like a steering rack could be gotten from any GM product. The firewall could be tricky as you'd probably have to heavily modify it. But it seems like the dash would have to be custom made.

Yeah I'm not sure, they might have swapped in something from a Holden but a mount would still have to be fabricated to bolt it on the inside of the right frame rail. Some precise cuts in the firewall could probably swap out the area for the steering column and where the brake booster mounts without too much trouble. But I can definitely see the varying degrees of quality in doing such work.
Changing the subject Shogun, are the fenders on your S13 made by Origin Lab?
By Bandit1 Go To PostChanging the subject Shogun, are the fenders on your S13 made by Origin Lab?
They are. They were not painted by me though. I bought them from some dude who was upgrading to even wider fenders, and the grey was close enough so I just left it.
My silvia fenders I had on before were origin as well, which I still have. I sold the rest of the front end though and went back to pop-ups
I saw a Model 3 in person yesterday in a very pretty white.
But man, that front end is a mess. The car just looks like its been squished length wise.
But man, that front end is a mess. The car just looks like its been squished length wise.
IDK what I expected but that's about as good as I thought it would get, and that style just doesn't work with a traditional SUV shape. Whatever, I'm not the target demo anyhow.
Yeah, trying to style an SUV like a sports car, bad idea. You always wind up with way too much grille. Keeping it truck like is the way to go wherever possible. That interior is horrifying, too. 900 virtual buttons you have to take your eyes off the road to operate like that is just dangerous and stupid at best. I definitely understand the design intent but it'd work so much better if they lowered the thing and just made a damned wagon instead. The whole thing should be stuck in the dictionary next to the word "overwrought."
I still haven't seen a Model 3, and there are Teslas all over the place out here. I'd really like to check one out and see if they've actually built a 60-65K car. The performance is certainly there.
