By rodeoclown Go To PostToday I learned that the high school teacher that basically ruined my senior year is now an Amazon Flex driver and I feel great. That's great. But what a shit heel.
I can't believe a dude that once told me he couldn't help me because he had to go to tennis practice isn't teaching anymore.
By giririsss Go To PostThat's great. But what a shit heel. He's a piece of shit. He made fun of me in front of the class a couple of times, used to report me for skipping even though I'd attend class, told me if I wanted a better grade that I just needed to work harder. On one occasion he once called someone a "homo." (This wasn't me. I did report it, though, and basically got shrugged at by my assistant principle who I'd find out later was in the process of being investigated for hitting on a student. Yikes.) Why do I still have high school nightmares 10+ years later? This fucking guy.
One of us is now in their mid-40s delivering packages instead of having a real career and it ain't me, bitch.
By giririsss Go To Post500 or 600 count?
Wait till you crack 1000.
Learn what ELS (egyptian cotton) is, what a sateen finish it.
from some quick googling a 1000 count sheet costs more than my whole set
There’s a good article I’ll look for, but essentially thread count has become a marketing gimmick. Companies don’t list the quality of the thread. The reality is you can only fit so much cotton into a single space. So you want to look for materials before thread counts. Organic and Eygyptian cotton are the keys to look for.

By Random Ass Username Go To PostI think I might be starting to have real issues with dairy. Damnit.I had to switch to lactose-free milk a year or so ago after finally coming to terms with it being an irritant.
By Random Ass Username Go To PostI think I might be starting to have real issues with dairy. Damnit. On the positive side, it's easier than ever to eat things that don't have dairy, since gluten-free and vegan diets are so much more popular.
I say this as a person that has not had any dairy in 12 years.

And yeah, schools can be a cesspit if the adulting at the top goes wrong.
When you reconnect with people from high school and you notice most of their friends are from high school, they mostly talk about them and high school and thats almost entirely who they still keep up with

I am so disconnected from my past that I wasn’t even invited to the 10 (or this #20) year reunion. I’m not on social media and my small circle I run with are all post HS. I have two friends from HS I stayed connected to some. One I stopped communication with because he’s a Trumper (friends since grade school) and the other I talk to once a year or so.
I have different middle school, high school, college, and post-college friend circles I hang with. *shrug*

WOAT is when they still thirst over women from HS that wouldn't give them the time of day then or now (9 years later).
have some self respect innit

It’s really just a matter of random circumstances for me. My lack of desire to reconnect via social media just compounds things.

By Fenderputty Go To PostIt’s really just a matter of random circumstances for me. My lack of desire to reconnect via social media just compounds things.Yeah, for me, the middle school friends have always been close and I'm in a fantasy football league with some of them, the local high school friends I meet up with weekly for tabletop games while I hang in a discord with the ones that moved across the country, college friends are similar to the high school friends, and post-college are bandmates former co-workers that I still talk shop and hang out with.
I think only one of them is on social media, non-facebook division, and he only joined twitter last week. Most of the ones I keep in touch with moved off of facebook and on to discord.
e: i did have one girl from elementary school that lived in the same neighborhood reach out to me a couple years ago on facebook and we talk once a year or so; that's about the only one I've reconnected with over any kind of social media
I haven't spoken to anyone I went to school with since I was 18 (barring one guy I just remembered).
Today was a hard day.
My kinder students graduated.
Teaching some of them for three years has been so fun.
Going from barely being able to say happy, to having mini conversations with them about all types of things.
A lot of them will move to our elementary section, but some of my favourites are leaving. And it is never the same when they become elementary students. I go from feeling like a superstar to just feeling like a normal teacher.

Am I wrong for not inviting people to things after they bail on me or decline multiple times (lunch, hangouts, games, dates, etc)?
I think at a certain point you should ask me. I don't like feeling like I'm always making the effort. But then I end up looking like the bad guy cause people flip it on me like "why didnt you invite me" when I leave them out.

i used to but i got tired of it after hearing enough of "well im a busy person" level excuses (lies). in that case invite me to some shit when you know you're not busy

By domino Go To PostAm I wrong for not inviting people to things after they bail on me or decline multiple times (lunch, hangouts, games, dates, etc)?Totally normal to feel that way. One of my good friends stops inviting people if you bail on an invite three consecutive times without a good excuse. He's been pretty spot on about it, too, because those that kept constantly bailing decided to never hang out or reach out to him again.

I can't make it to many things my friends invite me to, but I am always sure to ask them to please keep inviting me because, yeah, it is normal to stop inviting people to things if they decline or no-show a lot.

so this dude i work w/ proposed a hypothetical to me yesterday.
say a woman passed out and needed CPR right.
and only him and I knew CPR (i dont) in the whole building
i'd have to give her CPR because he's worried she'd come back after the fact and claim sexual harassment and he doesn't want to take the risk
why.
