By Switchpro Go To PostPhilly got Embiid, Simmons, Fultz and Saric after 5 years of tanking.
LA 'bout to enter year 5.
Yeah, but aside from Saric (who's probably not going to be an all star) who knows with any of those Philly guys though?
By Switchpro Go To PostPhilly got Embiid, Simmons, Fultz and Saric after 5 years of tanking.Philly wasted a number of really high picks too tho...

I'm as surprised as most that Philly not continuing to draft Centers with their high picks has eventually led to good results
By livefromkyoto Go To PostYeah, but aside from Saric (who's probably not going to be an all star) who knows with any of those Philly guys though?Yeah, Embiid has played 31 games in three years, Ben Simmons missed a complete season already and Fultz has had knee issues himself. I really like what they did if those guys can stay healthy, though. I think.
Supposedly, the Rockets don't want to pay what it would take to extend him and so are going to try to trade him for whatever they can get.

Don't feel down. If Morey put him on the table he'd probably be the best offer Indy has heard for Paul George.
By blackace Go To PostThey got the best of the trade talent wise but D'tectitive must have been hated in that lockerroom so for him and the team it was a move that needed to happen just that they got shitty return for it
Yep. Given the Nets situation it is a come up.
Five minutes passed, and Howard answered the first question from a fan, seemingly unaware that the Atlanta Hawks had traded him to the Charlotte Hornets in a three-player swap.
It was the only question that Howard, 31, would respond to as people immediately began sending tweets about the ironic timing of the news. It's safe to say that the fan interaction certainly did not go as Howard planned.
So apparently the Pozingis trade stuff may have been a made up story by Porzingis's camp to try and get Phil fired.
im gonna need the NBA to chill on the fuckery today. my group text w/ my college buds was annoyingly busy yesterday.

hawks looking to sign and trade sap
i'd give them a first and mahinmi/filler but there's probably too much bad blood and ted is cheap

Lol what a shit storm. FYI Joe Cowley from the SunTimes is a hack and gets riled up from fake rumors all the time. He's probably just walking back his initial rumor of Butler pushing to go to CLE because Aldridge and others said Jimmy doesn't wanna go.
Thibs told reporters today that he wants a rim protecting center.
His best guy plays center.
Thibs as GM has felt like years.

to be in the midst of the greatest span of Cavs basketball ever, GODDAMN it's rife with fuckery lmao.
depends on which cavs players--I'm sure a number of those guys know they'd be included in such a deal and don't want to go into tank hell in Chicago
@WolvesRadio Thibs wouldn't comment on specific players but when asked about Markkanen he smiled & said "shooting is one of our needs."This is it, the darkest timeline.
By rodeoclown Go To PostThibs told reporters today that he wants a rim protecting center.Y'all could probably get Tyson Chandler by doing a pick swap with Dallas since Cuban wants to snag that French kid before the Knicks.

By DY_nasty Go To Postnothing about Lauri says defenseNo, but he can shoot and plays the 4, our biggest need. (Nevermind that I don't think we should be drafting for fit. We won 31 games.) I actually think the idea that shooting is expensive as a free agent commodity is correct and that should be a thing you draft for, but...
He'll go after a shot blocker in July and get another shitty free agent in the vein of Cole Aldrich and we'll have a bazillion dollars on the books for guys he doesn't play because they're behind Towns on the depth chart and he has to be out there 40 minutes a night for us to have a shot.
He has zero idea what he's doing.
By masud Go To PostHey thats whats being reported. Seems just as plausible as Phil trying to trade him.
Didn't like 4 different reputable guys report on that story? You're telling me none of them confirmed with a front office anywhere?
By masud Go To PostY'all could probably get Tyson Chandler by doing a pick swap with Dallas since Cuban wants to snag that French kid before the Knicks.
Thibs just needs to get on the time-o-phone to 2014 Cuban. Also, rodeo, tell him to warn Mark about that Trump character.
By livefromkyoto Go To PostDidn't like 4 different reputable guys report on that story? You're telling me none of them confirmed with a front office anywhere?Hey didn't those same 4 report on the Ricky Rubio/Derrick Rose rumors? DAMN THOSE NY PLANT REPORTERS!
It seems the Mavs have moved DSJ ahead of Frank. So not sure what Mavs are doing now. Seems DSJ hasn't moved up either unless the Lakers do that trade with Kings?
By Kabro Go To PostSame. My work productivity takes a nose dive receiving all these texts i got yesterday.I got lucky in that I just finished up my two current projects and am in a lull before starting on the next.
Thibs signed Cole Aldrich last summer and the Wolves still owe him $14M over the next two years and this dude wants a new backup center now.
How is this not an admission that you can't properly evaluate talent.

any GM that has Frank Nickels over DSJ should be fired rn.

By livefromkyoto Go To PostDidn't like 4 different reputable guys report on that story? You're telling me none of them confirmed with a front office anywhere? If you looked past the sensationalism the only thing that was reported was that front offices were contacting the Knicks about possible KP trades since there seems to be some friction there. Which is the exact same story that came out a month ago after Phil refused to say that KP was off the table at that end of season press conference. I doubt anything new actually happened. It is funny though that ESPN reporters broke this "story" and talked about it all day yesterday leading up to their KP documentary... Just saying.
By joefu Go To PostIt seems the Mavs have moved DSJ ahead of Frank. So not sure what Mavs are doing now. Seems DSJ hasn't moved up either unless the Lakers do that trade with Kings? There is zero chance that both of them are available at 9th.
By domino Go To Postany GM that has Frank Nickels over DSJ should be fired rn.Yeah, just pointing out that the Mavs don't really badly want Frank lol. Just Knicks I think since they are babysitting him? Lol
Lemme just say with the stuff that's coming out now about Phil I could kinda see where KP's camp would do that... but to do it would mean a massive power play for a 3rd year player. I will say he has been very tight with Carmelo doe, during exit interviews when Phil blasted Carmelo saying he should go somewhere else Carmelo responded with:
KP and his teammates liked that post right after he blew off exit interviews LOL

By reilo Go To PostIf only there was a way for Phil Jackson to speak to the media and tell them that the rumors are false or something.Oh for sure. Phil's a jackass for letting this shit fester. I don't think he's going to trade him though.
By reilo Go To PostIf only there was a way for Phil Jackson to speak to the media and tell them that the rumors are false or something. You mean the same dude who wouldn't say for months he and his buds were shitting on Carmelo until after the season ended?
By joefu Go To PostYeah, just pointing out that the Mavs don't really badly want Frank lol. Just Knicks I think since they are babysitting him? LolThe Mavs had scouts on Frank well before Knicks did.
Doesn't mean they can't change their minds. Mavs have DSJ in front after his workout last Thursday it seems.
By reilo Go To PostIf Miles Plumlee can be traded, so can Aldrich.I'm not saying he can't, but his ability to flip him later is immaterial. Thibs gave Aldrich a 3/21 contract last summer and then decided he didn't really want the guy a year later. If his opinion about Aldrich as a player changed while he coached him, isn't that on him for not being able to properly scout him from afar? There was a lot of evidence that Aldrich is a replacement level player.
Even if Thibs is able to jettison Aldrich by paying some other team to take him, that's bad asset management. I have zero faith in Thibs' ability to run the franchise and things like this make it that harder to believe he'll pull it out of the doldrums.

By joefu Go To PostDoesn't mean they can't change their minds. Mavs have DSJ in front after his workout last Thursday it seems. It doesn't really matter though DSJ is not gonna be there at 9th. Only way they have a chance is if he falls to 8th (not likely) and the Knicks take the Frank over him (oh God no)
