Congrats bruh!!
You'll gain an even higher appreciation for women after going through a pregnancy.
Hearing the heart beat for the first time loud and clear almost broke me.
Yup the moment you hear the heart beating it stays forever. Two years on and it still rings in my ears. Beautiful sound man.
By Smokey Go To PostAce gon gain them 15 pregnancy poundsfinish this... I want this oh I can't eat it...
I'll be lucky with 15
We 7 months fam
My son is definitely teeting. You can see (and feel) his bottom two teeth coming in. Lots of crappy diapers from what my wife tells me. "Talking" alot more. Wife is hyped for Halloween and what costume he's gonna wear.

Our daughter got her to front bottom teeth in, but that's it. We started feeding her some cereal at about 5 months and have increased amount and variety of foods since. Her craps are well ... pretty crappy now. When do we start potty training? Because the sooner the better. By lack of luck I ended up changing every shit diaper last weekend.
My little dude is about 2.5 months now. He's been smiling for the past 3 weeks, which is crazy. He's getting his vaccines today for polio and hep and I'm going to cry seeing him in pain. :'(

He was eating a variety of foods from a spoon....and just stopped. Like he doesn't even want it anymore. I'm wondering if that has to do with his teeth? If it's not in a bottle he doesn't want it. Been mixing his food in with his formula in the mean time.

You might be fine. I was the EXACT same way, and he didn't cry at all until the last shot. Dr solved that by giving him the oral medicine last and he went to focusing on what the hell am I tasting lol. I think as they get older tho and realize it's coming...that's when it's gonna be a battle.
By Kidjr Go To PostSame on the bottom two teeth, yo, I'm kinda itching for another one.
I kind of wished we had twins tbh. Double the work, but they would've both been knocked out at once. Done and over. Everytime i brought it up to the wife she got extra touchy lol "it ain't your body" etc etc 😂. Eventually I just started trolling her whenever we went in for sonograms.

LMFAO mine is EXACTLY the same,
"your life hasnt changed"
"Its not your body"
and the list goes on. Ima give her a break for a year but I'm soooo ready

The first batch of vaccines weren't that bad because our daughter ended up sleeping A TON the next two days. The 6 month shots were hard though. She doesn't nap well and was fussy and had a fever.

Mine did until the day our girl was born. The instant rush of emotions makes them forget the hell they just want though. It's remarkable. We're game for two, but we're waiting until our girl is about year before trying again. Taking care of a newborn while pregnant would be a disaster.
I probably ain't getting another tbh
We'll see in 1-2 yrs tho
Our problem is we are both kinda old.. lol I am 39 and she is 38
We agreed to two before we started. We both love our siblings and don't want to have our child miss out. My wife more so than myself. I would probably be fine with one but agree that two would be better for our daughter.

Yeah, it wasn't terrible. He cried for about 30 seconds and we calmed him down quick. He started smiling again. But he was still confused about what the hell he just experienced and why. He's feeling a little groggy, I can see it. He's not being his playful self, but we can still get a few smiles out of him. Hopefully after a day or two he is feeling like himself. I hate that he has to get more shots for his 4 month, and then again for 6 month,
:'(
We've got two kids, one that's 6, the other that's 3. My wife is getting the itch for a third and final kid, but man, two is so good. One more and they outnumber us.
By blackace Go To PostI want 2 as well but don't know if it's in the cards
Pull out game to strong?
Co worker told me at work that he sed to work with a guy with 8 kids. He said he walked by his desk and wondered why he still had a picture frame with the stock photo in it, he asked o buddy and he said "that's my family".
😂
😂
My 9 year old son has started to become touchy-feely lately. Always wants to hold my hand in public or sit near me on the sofa or sit on my knee (but I usually have my laptop). I would have liked if he did this when he was younger, but this is making me feel uncomfortable.
You feel he's too old to be doing this or? Maybe he has something going on that he's not telling you. Have you tried talking with him about that?

why does it make you feel uncomfortable, not judging btw because I dont know how I would feel when I started thinking about the same situation just curious as to why.
on and off topic here as it's political in nature but also related to the family. Clinton wants to double the child tax credit yo.

I have not spoken to him about it, but I suspect it has something to do with me working 2nd shift for 2 years and now I'm on days, so my kids see me every day now. It's only been 3 months since the change.
Talked to a friend at work about this. Won't benefit me, but it's good for the US long term.

My son is rolling all over the damn place. Also semi crawling, he'll probably fully be there in two weeks.
Dude thinks it's a game. Set him down and when I go get him he unleashes a special combo of speed rolls that's actually impressive.
He gets into EVEEYTHING
I imagine Hard Mode begins now

My daughter has been crawling for two months and crawling well for 1 month. She started pulling herself up to her feet a month ago too. I was SOOOOOOOOOO pissed when this started. Everyone has told me "hope they get mobile late" and they were so right. She'll crawl right over to credenza in the living room, pull herself up and start reaching to lots of glass things. We need to baby proof things badly. I was hoping she wouldn't crawl until next month. I feel like I basically put her down and follow her around so she doesn't kill herself and have been doing this for an entire month.

Somewhere along the line mine decided rolling was the best and most efficient way to get around. I'd put something on the ground and just watch him. He'd present himself in a way where he was 2-3 rolls away, even if he was originally racing the opposite direction.

My wife and I have realized this last month that there's not one baby safe spot in our house and it compounds the issue.
Ace how's everything going?
We dropped our son off at his gparents house for a little over a week and picked him up yesterday. Got a much needed break. We'd FaceTime him everyday and his face would just light up and he'd get visibly excited. During this time he also leveled up his crawl game x100
I get home from work today and he's playing on the ground with my wife. He looks at me and crawls across the room, around the couch, pulls himself up on my leg and smiles for me to pick him up. That was a cool moment

Everything has been going great... still no word on the gender but feeling it might be a girl! Last ultrasound was neat because you could see the kid's jawline in profile...
Wifey's mom has been so awesome... she maybe more excited than we are.
We live pretty close to grandma so she going to get a lot of those drop-offs lol

When do you find out the sex? What's your due date?
Also ... Smokey ... nothing better in my life right now than to get home and see excitement on my child's face as I walk through the door. She just lights up.
We just had our 9 month check up. Everything is good. Normal weight and above normal height though not super tall. She's not got 8 teeth in so we're having to advance her on foods faster. In 3 months mothers milk needs to be an afterthought in her diet which is kinda wild. She's standing and balancing on her own now. She can walk with the assistance of a table too. I'm fucked ...

That's a good time to have a child. Being 9 months pregnant in the heat of August is not fun for the women. My wife and I are trying for #2 right now and she's almost hoping it takes 3 months to get her pregnant because November at 9 months is better than August at 9 months. Keep us posted man.
Yeah! It's been a fulltime job making sure everyone is in the loop.. But as soon as I find out I need to brag on my son or daughter here!

I'm 35 going on 36 and my wife is 32 going on 33. We don't want to wait too long as I don't want to be 60 when my kid graduates HS and 70 when they finally move out. We would also like the kids to be of similar age growing up together.
That makes sense
We wanted to wait until 30...made it to 29. Considering we've been together since HS, I'd say we did good.

Been meaning to post in this thread for a while, Jordan is one today, he's so happy. Dont think hes aware of everything going on but knows knows he doesnt get new paper and boxes to play with everday (very little interest in actual toys lol) . He's walk is so cute just love him to bits man, teething is a bitch and when we left him on honeymoon he picked up some bad habits from grand parents.
Whoa Smokey you been with Mrs since high school, whats that like? Are you married?
Yep. Been married for about 2.5 years. We had "breaks" during that span, but yeah we went to prom together and all that fun stuff.
might have to start dating younger, I want kids and marriage but I know I'll be a late bloomer for both--I'm thinkin 36/37, but I tend to date older
My best friend and godfather to my son REALLY wants a boy. He married his wife years ago who already had two boys. They have one child together (a girl). He wants a boy of "his own" . While the two boys basically know him as their dad, he wants his name to continue...
Problem is wifey went and got her tubes tied or whatever ....without telling him or discussing with him ahead of time...
👀
I got lucky and had a boy on my first try...but that's some shit

As a newly wed, whats your secret?
By Kidjr Go To PostAs a newly wed, whats your secret?
Talk it out. Whatever "it" is. Especially if it's about money.
Realize there are some battles you just aren't going to win.
TBH it's not THAT much different. But for us we've been together and known each other for so long, marriage was more of a formality. It was more of a celebration for our families. We were thinking about the honeymoon in Hawaii the whole time lol.
I want a boy and a girl and so I would like a boy on our next. That being said I love my girl more than I could imagine so if I end up with two girls I'll be just as happy. At least until HS. A wise man at a restaurant told me to plant rose bushes outside their windows and I think I'll do just that.
It's a real concern for a lot of these younger gen people. My parents were done having kids by the time they were 34 and they started late for their time. My wife's parents are 10-12 years younger than mine. After age 35, pregnancies become a higher risk for the female. For some people getting pregnant is easy and for others it isn't. My cousin and his wife had their first child about a month after mine and his wife is 40. She had to have surgery to make getting pregnant easier too. It's going to be their only child. My aunt waited until she was 37 or so to have her first and regrets not starting sooner and having more. Think about it this way, if you have a child at 37 and they do something similar and wait until 37, you'll be about 75 when you finally get to see them married and may never get to meet your grand kids lol
Society changes but our biology doesn't. If you know you want kids, it's more about being ready financially IMO. Setting up the town you live in, the home, the income etc. You're never "ready" for kids though. No matter how much you think you are, you're not.
My daughter has been wonderful though. Wouldn't change a thing.
