By DY_nasty Go To Posti have no clue why people are hyped for doom though. it can't be as good as wolfenstein and the multiplayer is guaranteed butt, soooooo why bother?
Because it looks good on the proper platform?
Seriously the console version looks to pale in comparison.
Doom looks fun but imma hold off til it's cheaper. It's destined for the backlog if I buy it with UC4.
Finally finished Blues and Bullets episode 2 all the way. Such a weird fucking game. My only problem with recommending it is how long they go before another episode releases.
Neo reveal is gonna look so lame duck after that 1080 though.
Even without the 1080, I expect all the consoles of this generation will be cheaply made, underperforming profit traps.

Did a Hardcore (you die, game ends, game file erased) + Veteran (hardest difficulty) run in Alienation and got about 2 hours in. Got too confident and got overwhelmed with multiple enemies on screen. GG.
That screen when you die ;_;

By Smokey Go To PostAlienation is litFuk the Arc Ship tho gets mean on the 4th level
I love the Milton character in Blues and Bullets. After you finish fighting an entire submarine full of Russian gangsters by yourself, Milton offers to stand guard over your captive while you look around
'Without a gun?'
'I always carry one. I just don't like to use it.'
'We could have died!'
'But we didn't. You should be proud of yourself, not mad at me!'

Just played a game of Overwatch. Escorting the payload on Dorado and defending team thinks they're cute with 5 soldier and a mercy. Switch to Reinhardt and slowly move forward. Turn the corner and catch the whole team with my ult, start swinging and wipe out the entire team and we go on to win.
Hot damn this game is good, bout to pre-order. Nothing more rewarding then picking the right hero for the situation and ruining the other teams day. I can't remember the last time a beta got me so hyped for the full game.

Did the same thing! Reinhardt pinning Bastion against the wall just when he turned in a turret is so gooood.
By Dark PhaZe Go To PostSoldier is OPI thought so for a while too, but now I think he's in a perfect spot. If you're good with him, playing smart and keeping the range then you're gonna beast. Against randoms and noobs you'll eat but in more competitive matches... feels like a perfect fit.
just does too much damage
I'm really enjoying Tracer now. I've got a good eye for positioning and target prioritization. So I'm in there making the key plays that hold the team back (that bastion camped against a wall that the team is wiping to everytime, that widow and hanzo providing good range play, etc).
My god is it a fucking THANKLESS job though. You never get props for what amounts to having the entire enemy team completely shook and unable to stay completely camped up.
Her special grenade needs buffing badly too. I swear her bomb has to either stick you or drop right in front of you or it isn't doing shit. I've warped in, dropped a bomb and glitched back out thinking I just got a quad and I'll only end up with a single kill.

Really enjoying playing as Mercy. I need to adjust my thinking on when it's best to use her ultimate though.
Figure I should post a review of the Hori Fighting Commander 4 that I've been using the last couple weeks. It is a gamepad focused on use in fighting games, though I mainly use it for RPGs. It is currently $30 on Amazon and works on PS3/4 and PC.

Pros:
Cons:
It also doesn't have rumble or wireless which can be either a pro or con depending on personal preference. The cord is 10ft/3m, though.

Pros:
- Great fit in my hands. Feels wider than the 360 controller.
- Great feeling d-pad and face buttons
- Absolutely love being able to rotate the d-pad
- Loosening/tightening the sensitivity of diagonals on the d-pad is neat
- Configuration that lets right hand access eight different buttons
- D-pad can also be switched to left stick or right stick input
- Turbo mode for face buttons
Cons:
- Not recognized as an xinput controller on Windows. This means that it won't have it's buttons natively mapped to those of an XBox controller. Have to use something like x360ce or PinnacleProfile and the like to get some xinput-only games to recognize it.
- The d-pad diagonal sensitivity is a pain to change. I had to use a flathead screwdriver.
- Missing input(s) to fully operate PS4 (I read this in someone else's review since I don't have a PS4. Something about the touchpad, I think?)
- Shoulder buttons are kinda 'meh', but it is basically how they feel on just about any DS2/3, iirc.

I played a couple of games as Widowmaker this morning before work. Felt like a God.
Still need to try the game on PC.

Still, in many ways, the future is now and there is no better showcase for what can be achieved on console than Uncharted 4. This is a must-play experience that delivers the rare mix of pitch perfect gameplay and high-end visuals. If you've been keeping up with Digital Foundry over the years and have an interest in graphics technology, you owe it to yourself to give Uncharted 4 a try. In fact, it's such a remarkable achievement that even users that prefer to stick with other platforms should find a way to at least sample the game, just to appreciate the extreme artistry and expertise on display here.
Hmm ok.
My copy should arrive by Thursday from Gamefly. I can at least give the boys @ ND a rental.
By EldritchTrapStar Go To PostReally enjoying playing as Mercy. I need to adjust my thinking on when it's best to use her ultimate though. This is what I need to figure out too. I feel like I always use it at the wrong time no matter what
@PhaZe - pretty much anything is a thankless job in games, mainly because people only look at stats and since you can't see teammates stats (great decision by Blizzard) no one can make a judgement on whether or not their team is useful.
By Retro Go To PostI just use it as soon as it's up because it builds so fast as you're healing people. My feeling with most ults is you risk more by holding onto them and missing an opportunity than you do by using them at perhaps not the best times.

Played Overwatch on PC. PC wins again. Smooth af and that wasn't even on my 144hz monitor. KB+M makes you free.
$40. im there.
Pls forgive me for wavering from PC for a sec, Rob. I know better.

saw a thread on the otherside talking about rampant cheating though
shit got me shook--I've taken a couple of Hanzo shots that had me mindthrowed but didn't think anyone was immature enough to still bother with shit like that

Isn't Blizzard's anti-cheating normally on point?
Its the only reason I can see to play the console version over PC tbh, if you had the option
edit: There's an Overwatch thread now btw

Uncharted definitely looks like a Redbox for me. Never play the MP on those games and never finish them more than once.

and you still like playing Alienation?
We all make mistakes Smokey.
like how NVIDIA is releasing Founders Edition cards first, meaning you have to pay $100 for a shitty reference card or wait awhile. Perfect time for AMD to swoop in with some great cards.

I actually forgot to speak on that..
It was jarring af when I first started it. After about a hour I got used to the cinematic experience, but yeah they shouldve turned down a few effects to hit 60.
The entire open world of Mirror's Edge Catalyst looks like it has the size and depth of maybe one level of the new Hitman
DICE has assured us that a smooth launch for Battlefield 1 is a priority. We're all in a tizzy about the fantastical trip through World War 1, but all the dirigibles and Stielhandgranates won't save it if it performs as poorly as Battlefield 4 did.
"It’s a focus for us," lead designer Daniel Berlin told GamesBeat. "We know it was a difficult launch. We’ve been working on this for a long time. We released Battlefront, which did really well. We’re pushing an open beta to ensure stability. We’ve taken a lot of learnings from that experience, and we feel like we succeeded with Battlefront. We’ll take everything we learned there and apply it to Battlefield 1 as well."
Though its announcement is unsurprising, the open beta will be telling: Battlefield 4's most egregious performance problems were evident in its beta and survived to the live build. DICE has already acknowledged the impact that launch had on player trust. Come October, it will have to win it back.
Edit: I have stealthily changed the title of this flawless news piece to read 'Battlefield 1'. I like to think my inability to remember it as anything other than Battlefield 5 reflects worse on it than it does on me.
Yea anyone that actually believes BF1 will be smooth on launch..fuck selling you a bridge, I have a continent to sell you.
