- I've been playing halo since 2002
- I create tributes/trailers/montages of Halo and many other things
The last point is one of the reasons I wanted to join HaloGAF. I want to share my creations with people who love Halo and I think this is the best place to do that. Halo 5 is coming and I created two trailers, one (months ago) made of CG cutscenes from games and TV spots and one (few weeks ago) made of ingame cutscenes exclusively from Halo 5. WOOOOOOO, man I never used to love Doritos but when Halo 4 came out idk what happened. I've always preferred Mountain Dew and those two go so well together... except for the fact it gets your hand dirty and I hate touching my controller.

The only issue I had with 4's armor was that his head looked tiny at some angles due to the proportion of his upper body armor. 5's armor tweaks seems to have fixed that, from what we've seen so far. And that gold visor does look suhweet.

I can't tell if the MC he put in is just a bad unflattering shot, uncompressed or whatever. Or if they just shifted in art style, but there is almost no reflection off the armour. Very odd considering how much the lightning has improved.

I agree, I think because it isn't a great shot (something the guy pulled from screenshots). It's because there is almost no reflection off the armour. But the rest is better (proportions, colours, armour design etc...).

I think it's just an unflattering picture being used. Looks super muted there- but in gameplay videos and screenshots it does look fantastic.

I preferred the orange as well, but the gold looks great with the h5 armor!
I actually like how they start you off with blue visors in Halo 5. I might just rep the Recruit armor for a while even though I will have Nightfall and Mark VI unlocked day 1 from getting the required achievements in MCC.
What does everyone think is gonna be the reward for completing the game on legendary in MP? Considering Mark VI is rewarded from the beta. Locke armour?

No it's not true. He's pulling it out of his arse. The Mark VI armor is NOT rewarded from the beta, you can unlock it at any time by fulfilling certain criteria in the Master Chief Collection.
The only armors with confirmed ways to unlock them are:
1. Mark VI - Obtain 'Your Journey Begins' achievement in The Master Chief Collection
2. Mark VI Scarred - Complete 'Cairo Station' in Halo 2 Anniversary in The Master Chief Collection
3. Nightfall - Watch all 5 episodes of the Nightfall video series in The Halo Channel app
4. Helioskrill - Complete all 4 Halo campaigns on Legendary difficulty
Anything else is just a rumor. FollowTheWind is probably confusing Mark V and Mark VI since you could use Mark VI in the beta if you had the aforementioned achievements.
I'm confident Mark V will be in Halo 5 since they have already confirmed even more niche armors like Security and NOBLE and what-not. I think the only reason they skimped on armor in Halo 4 is because of the gigabyte restraints of DVDs on the Xbox 360. Let's also not forget that 343 will be adding tons of new armor to the game post-launch that will be obtainable from REQ Packs.
Yeah got them confused, thought Mark V was Mark IV and Mark VI was Mark V. Still got Halo 4 to finish on Legendary and HELIOSKRILL HERE I COME.

Putting all the armors side by side really reinforces how much I dislike the chastity diaper Chief wears in CE through 3. Cortana was always the dominant one in the relationship.

It's extremely odd. The armour looks they provided before the beta have a totally different texture and style than the actual game seen. Halo 5 gameplay seems to have a lot more of a comic book hyper realised art style going on, which honestly I didn't remember from the beta. A cell-shaded feel to MC's armour.
On the other hand this armour looks very shiny (which I prefer).

I just wanna vent about Split-screen really badly because I got in a somewhat heated argument last night defending the removal of it, but really I'm incredibly heartbroken.
I've grown up in a family of four: three brothers, one sister. Halo was our most played game. However, my sister only loved playing Halo when we were all playing together otherwise she likes Halo, but she won't play it. One brother has slowly weened off of playing videogames, but the one videogame he plays is Halo but in a similar situation only enjoys playing with the siblings. We have two xbox ones and during the beta I wasn't panicking because at the time Halo 5 was gonna include 2 player split screen at least. Literally we would play 4 hours of Halo three times a week during the breaks/vacation time together. So no problem, just move the second TV/monitor close to the other one and it's basically like old times. But then that fell apart too...
People usually say what's the big idea about splitscreen; just go home and play with your friends over live. I'd agree, but people don't realize for families this is a HUUUUGE loss. My brother who has the other xbox said he's not even buying Halo 5.
One other example of a loss is my brother's communal house/dorm/apartment thing from when he was back in College waaaay back in 2004 at Northwestern. They have around 20 people living there but one floor has 4 xboxes and 4 copies of halo 2. The original tenants have since long graduated, but they STILL have xboxes running Halo LAN 24/7.
I really hope the campaign and multiplayer scale is worth the removal of split screen. I'm hoping for it, but idk, nothing I've seen so far really warrants the removal of it, so that worries me. If not, well then here's to hoping Halo 6 will bring back at least 2 player split screen. :/

I'm also pretty disappointed, they should have pushed for it more and found a way. But this is the direction they've selected, and I always will have MCC for when friends come over (arguably Halo 2 is best for split screen).
Honestly if it really is a big deal, and you have the spare money why not invest in two Xbox's? I'm sure you have two TV's lying around and that way you can still have that coach experience (I know it isn't as convenient and cheap).
I just want to say I really despise hardcore try-hards in Halo CE. You know the types. The guys that memorized the spawns and pre-nade the limited spawn areas to force spawn you and your buddy into a corner to get brutally spawn killed repeatedly.
I don't buy the stupid skill gap reasoning for this. No, this a game flaw that is being abused to the fullest. It's a fun gap, not a skill gap. I can even do it myself, but it strips the dynamic/organic flow of a match.
