I don’t like it that much but mainly cause I didn’t wait all this time for Jayz to be on half of it

Some bar of Jay-Z’s on the Jays album is supposedly about my photographer friend that designed the Roc-A-Fella chain. Homie died last year
Not sure which song but I saw his homeboy on IG post about it. Jay-Z called the photographer’s dad (who is a very famous photographer himself) and told him about it

By /sy Go To PostNot even the last track? It’s so heart breakingIt’s not bad lyrically. It just doesn’t sound right. Song to song, the mixing is off, Jay Z’s voice sounds distorted as if he recorded them over a phone.
It sounds rough, scratchy. Not in an intentional way, in a quick and dirty mixtape kinda way.

I think they mixed it like that on purpose tbh

Haven't listened to any of his albums since IDLSIDGO.
I'd say a similar sound would be Her Favorite Colo(u)r by Blu, but even the vocals on that sound consistent.
By data Go To PostBeen relistening to a bunch of Geto Boys and old Scarface. Any similar artists?might peep UGK or old 8Ball & MJG
By domino Go To PostProbably haven’t listened to anything off it in 5 years eitherit aged like fine wine

Came back to kind agree with this, I cant get over this mixing. Its fucking awful, its the kind of thing you'd mix down in fruity loops

By /sy Go To PostMinds made up. New York is way better than the uk at this drill shit
By /sy Go To Postin for the 2 or 3 songs that will be good. I liked the title track/single.Once again psy was wrong.
Whole album slaps
Only really care for that middle chunk where he starts mining trilogy era vibes. Snowchild into Escape from LA into Heartless into Faith is basically the perfect Weeknd EP for me.

I was going to say I love everything up to Save Your Tears, and then After Hours. But that's the whole album. Well done Abel. Well done.
After Hours sounds a lot like Kiss Land to me, and I'm not complaining at all. It's fucking great. Makes me wish I could go see him live again someday. Remember going to his first show in Manchester in 2013. Tiny as fuck event, bought the tickets on ebay for 3X the price and it was fucking incredible.

Kissland without all the guilt and shame for the shit he was singing about.
