I think my favorite aspect of powerlifting is that you get to train with your competition every day, or at least see them on IG unless they don't post but pretty much everyone does in the area.
A couple folks at my gym that did the meet I did in February are also doing the same one as me in December and I can really see the difference in who went hard in the offseason and who didnt. I hated hearing folks whine about "genetics" or "he must be on something" or "he's too flashy with the outfits and the jewelry." I never answer to the chatter I let my work speak so I made a deliberate effort to train harder than everyone this summer and see who could keep up.
You pickup the 70s for a certain exercise? I'll do the 80s.
You do 3 sets? I'll do 4.
Coach gave me accessories on specific days to target weaknesses? Bet we hitting em even on the days they aren't assigned.
You compete a weight class or two higher than me? Bet let's work in together.
Just to prove a point to myself and my competition. Every single day.
So that when I say I'm the hardest worker in the room, I know that they know it's true whether they like me or not. It's all in good fun at the end of the day it's just how I hype myself up and there are enough people that match the energy and approach I bring to it.

Been off the soft drinks, ice cream, sweets, chocolate and milkshake for about a month now. Haven't really missed any of it, but it's either caused or coincided with a general lack of appetite. Don't feel like I have any less energy than normal though.

My right foot is completely fucked up, 100% certain I tore my plantar fascia a few weeks ago, felt a pop on the bottom of my foot then a sudden rush of heat. Now it's a constant dull ache that gets worse if I have the audacity to walk or run for more than 10 mins.
I can't afford to be off my feet for weeks so surgery isn't an option. Basically just tough it out until it gets worse or kills me, the American way.

Don't mess around with the extremities. If they become worse or even evolve into heelspurs, then you are bonafide fucked.
Best see a foot doctor and present your case and hope they can get you on a program that gives you some ability to work with it.

I also was struggling to make gains when strength training. That was probably lack of calories though.

I went on a bit of a spree Saturday night concerning food and drinks. I woke up at six in the morning and projectile vomited everything on the plants on my balcony. Great camouflage btw.

I fall prey to Oreos and Snyder's buffalo or jalapeno pretzel bites every couple months or so. I have no self-control when it comes to delicious snacks. I just have annoying and unsatisfying poops the next day though.
Another thing my body apparently hates is playing full-court basketball for the first time in like 7-8 years in old Allbirds running shoes with a bunch of 20-25 year olds. For 4 hours. I didn't really feel old until that night. Even today, two days later, my hip flexors and feet are sore as heck lol. Definitely gotta get my conditioning back up to par, and I'm thinking about grabbing a pair of Shaqs shoes from Walmart since it's a once a week thing right now. However, they're for little poor kids, so maybe not the best choice for a 32 year old man.

525 deadlift PR on Turkey day. then we rest and lift light until Dec 2nd.

Next week is peak week.

Post I would go for slow bend of your legs for hamstring with lose arms hanging, maybe a quad stretch lying down (if you can as that gives a better quad stretch with the hip flexor towards the ground), some toe flexion and perhaps a pigeon pose for some glutes and piriformis stretch
