By Facism Go To Postfuck man I need a regime that shakes off the stiffness after football. First few games back I was rapid and limber, now after every game I'm creeping down the stairs like an old lady checking for an intruder.usually after games i'll stretch and hit the bike at a low resistance when i get home
shower
stretch again
eat dinner
and then hit my thighs/hammies w/ the rolling stick
after basketball i never have to do any of this. i get like a weird 24 hr body high off it.
By Lupercal Go To PostWarm Up / Stretch before is enough or?
Also what are you doing after the game to recover?
just stretches tbh, definitely not enough of them though.
Cheers batong i'll add them in. I also have a foam roller that I've been neglecting. Far past the days of being able to bang out hours of activity and still be ok the day after :(
By data Go To PostI just can't fuck with Oatmeal. I've tried multiple times.
throw in banana slices. or raisins. or cacao powder.

I moved and I'm getting my gym membership restarted today. I don't know about all you casuals, but I'm a beast in the gym.
My girlfriend is getting her membership today too. We gonna get sexy by Christmas.
Ok, real talk. I haven't been consistent with the gym at all in 2020 and I'm gonna struggle to get out of bed tomorrow, but it's time to really get back on it.

Good for you jar155. I would advise to start slowly though and let your strength and stamina build up over time.
By domino Go To PostAight I was too ambitious with bench but now I know where I stand. I felt like I was going to burst pushing 245 yesterday. I can see from here progress is going to be slooooow245 moving smooth now
Hyperextended my knee playing soccer the other day. Hoping it’s something that’s just mildly annoying for a couple days and not the 2-4 weeks it said on google,
I think I can finally start doing top end rep work at that weight rather than just a 1RM
Kind of surprised because I’ve felt physically like shit and exhausted since Monday’s squat/DL workout. Took the rest of the week off
By data Go To PostThis is really where I'm trying to get toChrist that's at least 3 years of hard lifting and stringent diet.
By domino Go To Postcan he touch his hands together over his headDefinitely looks like he needs a yin session or two
copped a Theragun today
Figured it’s the same as 3 of my massage sessions and could actually be a more permanent solution

6 plate deadlift done. And I can do manual hamstring raises with no bands now . The hammy's and my shoulders are catching up to the rest of my body
I really just want to get a lot stronger in 2021. My mango(is to blow up and act like I dont know nobody) is to give back and help other people the way i've been helped over the last couple years.
That'd be pretty cool.
That'd be pretty cool.
At my biggest and strongest, I was around 275lbs, had a 48" chest, 18.75 and 18.5 arms, could rep 150lbs dumbbells each hand on bench, shoulder press 120lbs each hand, deadlift 585....and the attention I got was mostly from other dudes asking me about my routine, if I played football, remarking about how swole I was, some asked me where to get roids......
All that to say, it wasn't even remotely worth it. I've leaned out a lot since then, and the women who knew me at the more jacked size like how I'm built now a lot more. But if you just want to be a monster, forget all the starting strength type programs and use a bodybuilding one instead, I got to that size and strength about a 2 years after starting, while people who were doing that starting strength shit were way way behind me. I didn't really mess with barbell bench outside of warming up, mostly went with dumbbells cause I could just drop them if I pushed too hard.

315 deads are definitely feeling more than doable now. Just hit a 5 x 5 of them without too much struggle and surprisingly minimal back pain.
Goals for this next year are looking like(5rm ish. I don't do 1rms because I don't like having to be spotted )
Bench 255 (currently 205. Slow progress here but my db press is getting really good)
Deadlift 495
Row 285 (currently 235 but I feel like my back progression is really good. Might swap to a t bar row instead of bent over which has been my main back movement)
OHP 155 (currently 105. This is definitely my weakest lift. Strictly ohp not push)
Squat 305 (currently 245. Need to work on going deep more regularly )

I start getting lean it looks weird and makes my body look smaller . Plus I've always preferred that middle between body builder and power lifter. Not a big veiny/cuts guy

Maxed squat today, 300 lbs @ 160 lb bodyweight
Been a real successful 12 weeks of the program there compared to where I was at when the gyms opened back up in September. 75 up on my pre quarantine max, at the same bodyweight

ngl while i am bigger, and MUCH stronger now i'd kill to be in the sort of athletic shape i was last August. def focusing on that more in the new year and scaling back the powerlifting a bit.

yeah it does lol. thanks breh
this dude is my goal physique -> https://www.instagram.com/russwole/
i'd kill to have a tight core like that but still all the size in the chest/arms/back
Is that even attainable?
I just want to get back in 2019 shape lol, that's 10 years of discipline, perfect genes and a dietician.

OK so slaent is literally a community of elite. Lunatic out here sculpted like a Greek god. Data gains are insane and domino have great bods

probably not since i do way more cardio than him from soccer/basketball. my goals and hobbies are kind of in conflict but the variety keeps it all fun for me.
im down to try and be satisfied w/ wherever i land. the only thing i really judge myself hard on is numbers.
i want the 1K and I'm at 245 bench (that might be close to topped out), 300 squat (i think i have a lot of room for improvement here) and 315 deadlift

Put on a few more points myself over this covid and the years of being in an office working long hours. Going to try and get back to that next year though. Hopefully by the end of 2021 I will be back to my best.

im only strong bc lifting is the easiest part of my day. in and out 45-60 mins, 3 days a week rn, maybe a 4th if im free on a Saturday. no preworkout since September.
its been so good for my mental health to be back in the gym, on a strict plan for once, and be around folks dedicated to self-improvement. especially at this new gym the folks are really experienced and super nice compared to Planet Fitness. i was just focused on getting the job done there.
to be almost 30 im still one of the younger people in this gym by about 20 years. made a good amount of friends at this spot and brought some of my peope in. im good about pushing myself but i have to give the oldheads there a lot of credit they push the shit out of us younger folks. its very refreshing to be in a community of dedicated lifters. i cant wait for the courts to open up tho. im ready to get back at it and ball everyone up.
