TLOU Part 1 looks real nice. It’s the only Pro Enhanced game I’ve played so far but I guess I’ll boot up Demons Souls soon

Unless they’ve obtained them illegally, which wouldn’t be all that surprising.

Booted mine up last night to try it and I could barely tell the difference for Hogwarts Legacy, Jedi Survivor and Resident Evil 4. FFVIIR2 and Spider-man 2 I could tell looked better but it does leave me wondering if I've just wasted 700 starmers on this thing.
Hogwarts has the fancy RT in the castle, no?
I though it looked too shiny on PC so I turned it off, but shadows and AO really did improve the image a bit.

Yes
It has also dropped to £660 at Argos and a few other retailers for the black friday sales.
Demand (in the UK) most be pretty low given the price cuts.

I really am regretting buying this thing, I noticed it with Jedi Survivor straight away the image just looks unstable and pulses even when you're standing still.
Horizon Remastered is the best thing I've tried out so far and that doesn't even use PSSR so I dunno what that says about how bad a state PSSR is in.

The pro definitely wasn't made for games that came out last year. some games will benefit, others wont.
some patches will be good others will be meh. For every FF7 Rebirth and Stellar Blade there will be an Alan Wake 2. Over time, the rough parts will be smoothed out.
its the games built with it in mind that will give the real value.
PSSR is brand new and its not magic, if your game is poorly optimised, there is only so much leeway available to make it work.

The overreliance on PSSR to achieve outcomes was probably not ideal for the price point that Sony is asking. I've felt a little eh about it in pretty much every game including FF7 Rebirth (golden standard) and TLOU Part 1.
To be fair, it's still really good for the latter two titles, but I do think there's a "quirkiness" to PSSR that is really troublesome as the primary feature of this costly of an upgrade. PC users will have a good understanding of the limitations of the A.I upscaling, and have far more customization in adjusting settings. For console players, paying this kind of money for something that's introducing weird image quirks is something I don't think Sony anticipated enough and I think they should have.
Frankly, it needed to be as good as the best A.I upscaler on the market given the context of the situation. It's a lot to task, but when it's the primary focus of the upgrade, it's got to be at that level. If it the tech boost was a lot beefier and PSSR was just one other part of the kit, then the current level would be acceptable. But it's not.
I definitely regret my purchase atm. That could change in a year and probably will, but I think the growling is going to become louder from the community as more people purchase the console.

I'll get one before the Trump tariffs hit, pro will be the best way to play GTA for at least a year.
Yeah I wasn’t expecting much for already released titles. Internal studios would probably be smooth but I don’t see what real incentive a third party company has. Who’s really buying a Pro to play Jedi Survivor?
I mean this thing barely supports many games as it is so I'm not sure I'd be advocating that it supported even less games (poorly or not).
The implementation of the PlayStation 5 Pro AI-powered PSSR upscaler isn't perfect in all titles due to some games reportedly using an older version of the upscaler.
Commenting on the ResetERA forums in a thread discussing the disappointing Star Wars Jedi: Survivor PS5 Pro update, a developer going by the name of Koralsky commented on the poor image quality produced by PSSR in certain titles, revealing that the difference in image quality between different games is caused by the different versions of the upscaler used. In regard to the latest entry in the Respawn series, the developer confirmed the game is using SDK 9, being an Unreal Engine 4 game, so the team couldn't implement the latest up-to-date version of the upscaler that requires SDK 10 or higher, and has possibly used the very first version, hence the bad image quality.
While Koralsky couldn't provide more details on how many iterations of the PlayStation 5 Pro upscaler are already available and how each version improves on the previous, they could confirm that users should expect IQ improvements in the second and third batches of PS5 Pro-supported games using PSSR. In a game the developer is currently working on, for example, one of the later versions of PSSR, but not the latest, is giving much better results in comparison to TSR and FSR, and, as such, they expect the upscaler to get in a much better state in six, twelve months, compared to the state it is in the first batch of PS5 Pro supported titles.
Rebirth is a UE4 game as well. So IDK. It seems like PSSR is having problems fixing sussy games and is shining mostly on the extremely well done Sony first party titles that didn't need any help to begin with.
DF with their third in a row "PSSR fukt" video, conveniently the bad news is coming consistently *after* release. Shit was all good prior to that:

By Plasma Go To PostThey should just drop it down to 480p and let PSSR work it's magic.Maybe they did, I mean who are DF to tell me the internal resolution?
