By FortuneFaded Go To Postwith Lewis at Ferrari and RBR not at their best in Melbourne past few years, we could be off to a great start in '25.

RaceWeek: R5 Chinese Grand Prix in Shanghai
Probably the most front limited track on the calendar with endless long T1 going right from flat-out to low speed and T12/13, a long banked right-hander from low to very fast. In the past you would add more than enough front end to deal with that, not quite sure if that is as easy with these ground effect cars (to on the nose high speed?), but teams will have to find that balance.
Sprint weekend with new schedule, FP1 and Sprint Q on Friday, Sprint race followed by main Q session on Saturday. One FP session might catch teams out for Sprint, but parc fermé is now opened after Sprint race, so team have few hours to adjust the set-up for the main events.
- RBR, ergo Max probably still the favourite, unless they run in to a similar front left graining problem as they did in Melbourne. Can Sergio be there or there about from the start?
- Ferrari, front limited should suit them more, also low speed corners and traction out of them. Expect them to be close, close enough to trouble Max, not sure
- McLaren hates long slow corners and DRS straights so probably further away from top 2 teams
- Mercedes, over the years always a good front-end and not as much high speed combo's, so should be their best weekend so far. Than again its ground effect Merc so who really knows?
- Aston, not sure about their low speed, DRS effect worked so far (of set closed wing and DRS open --> speed gained) so two long straights should favour them, so can see Alonso behind the top 2 teams
- Midfield, Haas is fast straight line, RB fast slow speed corners so between those two for the remaining breadcrumbs
And 2019 was snooze fest, year(s) before did provide some good races, so looking forward to the return of this track.

FP1:
Sprint weekend so teams doing different things, so do not read to much in times, tires used so far:
- ferrari, one set red
- RBR, set medium and red
- Mercedes, one set hard
- McLaren, Hard and set red (Lando aborted lap, so tires prob be used later)
- Aston, Alonso hard and Lance Hard + red
Surprised RBR used an extra set, as last year they also used one set in Sprint weekends.......probably think they need one less in main Q

And meanwhile in Monza (renovations)

Max, max
Lewis thanks to Fernando, nice in this shit season so far
Sergio just lacks that killer instinct to deal with traffic faster
Fernando lost head a little, unnecessary imo
Forza Ferrari, doubt it's the last time they touch this year
Lando race ruined by t1
Shame we get another Q session and probably a more normal ordered grid :(
