Anyone watching Mania?
Opening match spoiler.
Becky/Ripley was really good. Hope it sets the tone for more good matches to tonight. Ripley retaining was the right decision. She's young, incredibly popular and will be the star of the division for years. But her title reign has mostly been pretty boring. She needs to be part of better feuds.

By domino Go To PostThe Rock having his own fake ass belt is killing meit looks dope
By Lupercal Go To PostLol, talk about a shit finish.finish was solid, start was bad though.
I imagine it'll be Perry getting out of the chokehold easy or something. But fuck me Tony Khan is possibly even more insecure than Punk is over this whole thing. AEW are getting late stage WCW desperate to generate a good tv rating.
It's probably also a pretense to induct Jack Perry into the Elite. Which is fine even though I do think he's incredibly boring.

Saw the finish for last night's main.
Is it safe to assume they'll have Rock cost Roman tonight without Cody realizing and then build for a match at next year's show? Seems risky.

HAHAAHAA
McIntyre beats Rollins for the title and gloats in front on Punk. Turns his back, Punk attacks him and Damien Priest cashes in his mitb to win the title.

By Dr3up Go To PostThere’s two women’s belts?
yeah there's 2 of the mens, womens and tag belts because of the brand split
The main events for both nights went EXACTLY as I thought they would. Cody/Seth lose. Cody has to overcome crazy odds and wins.
Weeks ago, I figured Priest would cash-in but in the midst of the crazy with CM Punk, I totally forgot about him. Seth has done justice to the title and I hope he gets it back. Poor Drew, though. LMAO. The match was noticeably short, which Seth deserved and hopefully he takes a break and recovers. He's getting beat up.
SPOILERS BELOW:
Rhea is the queen.
The Seth/Cody vs. Rock/Roman tag team match was full of botch after botch. It was slow, and pretty boring.
The tag title match was okay, but WWE needs to do something about those fake ladders. They were breaking and bending left and right with minimal contact (I can't recall referees holding up ladders back in the days), and you can see what looked like some kind of wood and foam inside.
Anyway, happy that Awesome Truth are champs. Not happy that Theory and Waller are tag team champs too, but it was time for the belts to be separated. One set belongs to heels, the other to faces.
The main event with all of the cameos at the end was hilarious and amazing. Jimmy/Jey match was boring, they didn't seem like they actually wanted to wrestle each other. Maybe it's just me?
LA Knight is going to be a future champ and rightfully beat down AJ Styles. I think Logal Paul will lose the title to him in one of the smaller PPVs, especially once he didn't drop the title to either KO or Orton.
Street fight was meh. But for the most part, the Triple H era is off to an absolutely rocking start. It's obvious that Hunter is splitting titles up between heels and faces, and might not be very interested in just keeping one belt with someone for years. But now I'm curious what does this mean for Roman? Didn't see he say he'd retire once he loses the title?
Also, it was pretty obvious that The Rock and Triple H started cursing A LOT more over the past few weeks, especially as they gear up for Netflix.
Hunter just confirmed that Vince turned WWE into a G-rated show, even during their PG days, and that it lost impact.

There’s been times where we, as a company, say we’re PG and we’ve been G. Like, way G-Rated. I believe there’s a time for things to work.”
“There’s a time for everything, but its got to be done in moderation. It’s got to be done when its right. If everything you say is cussing, who cares? You just tune that out and it doesn’t matter. But right now, we’re so clean on it that Rock says something, given his position and ‘disruptor’ and the guy coming in from the outside, it’s believable that he has that leeway and doesn’t care. He can do those things and it’s shocking, because it’s not been that way.”

By Lupercal Go To PostNight 2 saving it because night 1 was (besides the women's championship match) pretty mid.night 2 is supposed to be better in general, kind of like the "save the best for last" saying. the womans match with rhea sucked, the 6 man ladder match was the best match. overall wm xl sucked, it didnt feel like a wm.

Rock's entrance night 1 was awesome though, even had the attitude era name graphics.
If this is HHH Mania style, it doesn't differ much from Vince's except he does let the right People win at the end.
6/10 Mania all in all.
By Lupercal Go To PostIf this is HHH Mania style, it doesn't differ much from Vince's except he does let the right People win at the end.It was genuinely shocking and refreshing how many crowd favorites won. I'm too used to Vince booking and kept waiting for the bottom to fall out and see somebody lose just for the shock value.
There was a couple duds in there (the Usos, the Philadelphia street fight), but the show was fun overall. They finally used the two nights to tell a story across both nights and Cody finishing the story was perfect.
Feels like roman might be done. He was talking the other week about how he's still heavily medicated for leukemia, there's the shot of him hugging Heyman after the match, there's not much for his character to do after this and I think that's part of why rock carried the storyline and promos so much
Crazy to think how much this changed everything

I think Roman is just going to take time off and will be be back for Summer Slam. He still has unfinished stories like how he's never beaten Seth.
By unknown Go To Postthat would suck and be a big L for wwe. they already gonna lose ratings with him taking a break. Why would they give a shit about ratings if they're already paid and going to Netflix? Or is that just Raw?
Anyway, who is lined up for Cody? I don't understand his appeal, but I also didn't understand Cena either, so I'm obviously just out of touch with the product over the last two decades.

they should stall Gunther out a bit and build him up over the next year as a euro monster instead of feeding him an L to Cody this summer

Cody is the quintessential baby face that the WWE hasn't seen since Bret Hart. He's easy for the crowd to get behind, he's approachable, loves the fans, has the legacy, decent on the mic (better than Bret, at least), and is pretty solid in the ring. It makes total sense.
Roman is probably done for this year atleast. He'll go with Rock to shoot a movie, test the Hollywood waters.
With the heavy medication, he probably can't do a fulltime schedule anyway and now would be the perfect time to branch out.
If it doesn't pan out, he can always go back for a limited run anyway.
Cody will be a great babyface IF they can deliver on his opposition. He's great in the chase and a great babyface but we've seen what can happen to champion babyface Cody if he stalls out on the worthwhile feuds.
He can always heel turn but it doesn't seem to be something he wants to do.

Ricochet don't know how good he has it. She is amazing.
Wait...the new WWE intro is a Marvel intro ripoff ? LOL
Hunter no.
Edit: Christ, the first hour of RAW was just promo. I wonder what Rock gave Cody.
