Someone is making a landing / take off mod that keeps you with your character view.

I had no idea the game was gonna turn my character into a fucking dragonborn .
I’m not mad, honestly pretty relieved to see the main story is going somewhere because I was beginning to worry it would just be collecting artefacts for the sake of it with little pay off.

Went to a space station for a side quest (Ricardo Bosch) and found these insects locked up. Then opened the doors and realised there were 3 level 40 versions one of whom launched my carcass across the room in one hit.
Anyone else have the random static noise every so often? Annoying as fuck and seems to be getting more frequent
I shot a guy and he just laid on the ground for a minute and got back up

Oh my god, it's beautiful!
By Hentai Samurai Go To Postalso why doesn't the game understand that if you're talking to someone a random npc shouldn't barge into the screen?Because you'd miss out on the bethesda magic (tm)

By inky Go To PostShould've visited Gagarin so early. There's a bunch of stuff to do here.
Ah piss.
Got a weird bug last night where a UC ship was trying to scam me but I wouldn't pay so they attacked me. I disabled their engine, boarded, and killed the spacers on board. I then undocked and started to blow up the ship because it's empty anyway now and my crew went ballistic at me. I then reloaded my save and undocked and left and yet my crew were still pissed at me, and I had various Freestar ships attacking me too.
Fixed it with a 24hr sleep and some persuasion on my crew but yeah a weird one.
Early days (and worth bearing in mind the Halk guy fro th Witcher 3 retexture project is doing a texture project too) but this looks like one of the better texture upgrade mods going.

Crew gets pissy over anything.
I threw a couple of grenades inside a base and Sarah got mad at me... turns out there was a civilian in the next room hiding behind a closed door that maybe caught a bit of the aoe.
When you first meet, she's all like "what you do is your business, be your own conscience" but accidentally pick up something that isn't yours and the wedding she was planning without asking you is suddenly off smh.

I think Fallout 4 had a better variety of companions, in that you could pair up with people who wouldn't mind you stealing or shooting people. But in this all the companions seem like goody two shoes.
Going to make it hard when I do another playthrough as a cutthroat pirate, I guess I'm just not going to be able to take any of them with me on my ship.

Vasco doesn't care, I think. But if you're doing any stealth, companions are out. Even Andreja gives herself away too much.
I've actually not done any real crime other than smuggling, and they don't judge you for that. It's not that I'm playing a good character or anything, I joined the fascist faction after all. Just investing heavily into science leaves little room for rping the other factions ideally.

By blackace Go To Postjust hire bumsDo they have their own companion quests though or are they just for the constellation members?
Played it again today, still impressed by how well it works to stream from my PC to Steam Deck.
I am at start, went though the research building with the pirates but decided to explore the planet more instead of going to New Atlantis.
Came face to face with a level 10 alien beast, Vasco went down early but I kept fighting, taking cover behind buildings, it wasn't working so I ran to some small construction that I could jump to but alien couldn't.
Wasted almost all of my ammo but took the beast down.
It was a 15 to 20 minutes fight that had nothing to do with any quest but it was fun.
I think I am going to like this game.

The Starborn killed Sarah, I gave her jacket to the superior Andreja.. Red is more her colour anyway.

Been playing as much of it as I can honestly, but that’s about 30 hours in game since I started playing on release.
Weirdly, I feel the pacing of the main quest feels very off. Very fast introduction to Constellation, then it felt like 10 hours of collecting artefacts and busy work until the
Now it feels like I’m already very close to the end game.
Like most Bethesda games, it feels like the side quests absolutely clear the main quest in terms of being interesting and fun.
To me it was only the introduction that's weirdly paced. It didn't need 3 fights back to back, and two very similar looking moons right away, before giving you the keys to a ship and landing you on a city where the first landmark they point you to is the train fast travel system in a city that's actually seamless. The "out of the vault" moment was a bit underwhelming too with how striking vistas can get in other locations.
The UC Vanguard questline I think it's what most other games would build the critical path around (and it's a very good introduction into the universe and excellent on its own), but I appreciate how chill it can be to treat artifact collecting and temple visiting as ancillary to your own goals. I spaced it out enough in between other stuff like planet hopping to avoid it feeling repetitive and give each new artifact some breathing room in the story, but the main quest really picks up and focuses later on.
...
Using the push power today in some locations like labs and facilites, I only just realized there are a bunch of stuff like cabinets and drawers with stuff inside that you can't open manually but can use physics to get into. It's mostly ammo and crafted materials, but it's incredible they even put stuff in there.

About 20 hours in. Still in Sol, just clearing stuff and scanning planets. Did get arrested and forced to infiltrate the Crimson Fleet tho lol

No.
There are mission board quests that are stuff like: provide this planet with X resources by linking outposts, but like surveying, transport or bounty hunter missions, they are optional.

Yeah I'm currently thinking outposts is probably the one thing I won't be bothering with this playthrough.
Todd got so scared about angry nerds shouting at him due to the settlements in F4 that he decided not to incorporate them into the quest lines at all smh.
Was thinking it would've been nice to at least have a quest with a pre-fab basic outpost that asks you if you want to take over it or just let someone else do it for you, but the ghost of Preston Garvey weighs heavy on his soul.
There are so many abandoned structures in this game that would be great to build on top of and make an outpost outof.

Do think we'll get a fully explorable planets mod at some point and it'll just set down and record the POIs as you go around. However, I can imagine that system being very taxing on RAM / save sizes and not all that exciting. I suppose mathematic precision becomes a problem at that scale too.
Terramorphs really ain’t shit. I was expecting some deathclaw levels of inciting fear in my arsehole on the first encounter but nope. They’re fucking push overs. Tanky, but push overs.
I think I need better guns too. My current go tos aren’t cutting it at level 27 vs level 30 plus terramorphs. Just mag dump after mag dump.

The 'talk to Vasco' one you get early on, or something I totally missed?
Vasco does point you towards the outpost building which consists of tutorial pop-ups, but I wouldn't call it a quest.
