By Dr3upMushroom Go To PostAlmost done with the temples, switched over to doing the glyph quest. No SS is the opposite. The main town is in the sky and everything that matters is on the ground. It's a great game though, much more linear and puzzle based, some of the best dungeons in the series. It was my favorite Zelda game before botw.
I never played Skyward Sword is this where they get a lot of the sky stuff from? Might have to check it out.
Tried the Switch version of Skyward Sword and just couldn’t do it. The start is too slow and I don’t really like what they did to the combat. Shame because I love the dungeons in that game.

I’ve played most Zeruda games but I was burnout at around the time the game came out.
One thing I do find ironic is how the dungeons in the switch games feel like after thoughts.
Botw was my first Zelda since ♡Wind Waker♡ lol
Were the rest any good? I don't care about the combat and bosses here, otherwise I'd call Tears and all of them mid.

i have put in about 50 hours and I just realized last night that light seeds mirror shrines i feel like a big dummy
Gloom hands are bullshit. Tf am I supposed to do to beat them without bomb arrows? I’m getting grabbed like a cosplayer at a Smash event.

shieeeeeeeet
Now that is bad ass
By Perfect Blue Go To PostI wish i could do this lol, dope

Combat shrines > puzzle shrines >>>>>>>>> tutorial shrines
Losing all your gear and being forced to improvise and use the different abilities just feels extremely rewarding.

christ the water temple was so underwhelming lol, the mechanics and aesthetic were cool, could have been soo good

After 40 - 50 of them, I kinda get over meh no matter what they are tbh
Happened last game too.

Overcome gloom hands thanks to bomb arrows, parried a phantom into submission and finally, I have the master sword.
Also absolutely shat on a Lynel in the depths. Beat the stone off it, then went to town with flurry attacks. Still haven’t figured out armour upgrades so it hit like a truck.
Maybe I should make some progress on the main quest proper. Exploring the desert/Gerudo town is probably going to be my next move. Haven’t been back since unlocking the sky tower in that area.

The Eventide style combat shrines are cool but overall I think the shrines were better in botw. Too many tutorials.
Running about in the depths rn. Not much to it so far. Found kakariko, nice nostalgia hit. Feel like maybe I need to progress some main quest stuff to see some cool shit.

Gotta be at least 40 hours in and I’ve just come to my first dungeon. I was really expecting this quest on death mountain to end with the bad ace combat boss fight. So colour me pleasantly surprised.
Story spoilers: It feels extremely silly that characters are still talking about this Zelda walking around the place and causing mischief as if it’s really her given I’ve done all the geoglyphs and got the master sword. That Taylor Swift wannabe is a fucking dragon. Write it on a note and show them, ffs Link.
Call me crazy, but the game looks good anyway. 900p with a dynamic resolution and FSR should look like a disaster. Yet visually it looks very clean still on my 75 inch tele. The UI elements hold up especially well, I’d expect them to look very blurry given the nature of being blown up to a 4K display from such a low resolution.

Played 50+ hours. Made it to the Wind Temple and called it quits for the night. Otherwise have not completed any main quests.
I thought it was weird that Tulin didn't show up to help me at any point in getting there and I've googled and apparently he was?! So I have leave the temple and go and find him and travel up again. Fuck sake.

Finally done the band quest line to unlock the fairies and upgrade my armour. Suddenly very sad that I sold so much stuff early on because these upgrade requirements are wild.
You don't really need to upgrade anything past the 2nd upgrade, you're not getting gear checked in a Zelda game...
Found a what I thought was a random cave in a remote area that would have been a bitch to get to without my hover bike, ended up fighting a bunch of gloom hands for the first time, then as soon as they were down phantom Ganon spawned in, fused his gloom infected sword to a spear and now it does 90 damage. Good times.

By Punished Go To PostHow do you fight the gloom hands? I've ran away every time.Make a death machine. The music and lightng changes usually before you see them so make it then. The one in the deku tree was a get gud moment cause there is nowhere to run
On that note while Totk is better than botw in pretty much every way but guardians>>>>>>>gloom hands.
Its funny how new central Hyrule field feels in this game, I spent almost all of my time there in botw frantically running from guardians on the way to the castle. Since it's the starting area in totk the vibe is completely different and you can actually take in the surroundings. As soon as I left that area a little bit of the map fatigue I had after playing botw for 300 hours set in, thank God for the sky diving and the depths or I'd be getting burned out quickly.
By Punished Go To PostHow do you fight the gloom hands? I've ran away every time.Bomb arrows from above, takes like 4 or 5.

.
This. Botw fatigue is real lol. Shrines man … Only reason I haven’t just bum rushed the main is I like the depths and the sky stuff and want to unlock shrines for light points lol
I’ve only got one more maze left
Thank god for auto build too. They saw how tedious building shit was and the amount of building they’re gonna require lol
By Punished Go To PostHow do you fight the gloom hands? I've ran away every time.Bomb arrows as soon as they spawn in. Then get ready to parry.
By masud Go To PostApparently if you fuse those flowers that heal gloom to an arrow it will one shot gloom hands.
Ohhhh
So any point to starting up forges in the depths or figuring out how to get into the last mine and beat the igga clan dude?
I’m enjoying the depths but opening shrines to figure out light points is wearing on me. If there isn’t something super special as a result of things I’m probably gonna just plow through the main and be done with it
