Classic American stats lad. Needs to update the list though, Lampard doing it now.
That's true. It's time for the grand return to Chelsea.

By Batong Go To PostMonday, ladsI finished semester last week. No teaching this summer, just getting paid the same amount to do the research I would be doing anyway.
Speaking of Gerrard, he's been out there today saying they deffo want to keep Coutinho
But why? He had a couple of very good games at the start and been extremely underwhelming since, he really is James Rodriguez

Marsch?!?!?!

A good run no doubt but the only real surprise result there was the Wolves win, Norwich/Watford and Southampton being 3 of those 5 games makes that run not quite as impressive as it seems on paper.
I mean he hasn't done a bad job, but there has been a good few really terrible performances in there (and some good ones). And they're ultimately favourites to go down now, so I don't think calling him the THIRD best managerial appointment is accurate
That article
Everton have been worse under Lampard than they were before they hired him.
💀
Incredible. Pickford single handedly keeping them up

Yet more points per match, and with clearly tougher fixtures if you look at the matches, after coming in on the last day of the transfer window in January. Really makes you think.
By Andrew Go To PostElneny contract talks 💀I think I'd be ok with him staying, you won't find many other players about that are as good as he is and is happy to play a bit part role in the squad. The Athletic said we're trying to sign Tielemans as well which seems to suggest we're going to be signing another first choice midfielder regardless of Elneny signing on anyway.
He’s been good lately, but still.

I can't help but remember his poor performances though - hope it's not a contract play.

lads, is this a penalty or not?
most people over here seem to agree that it's not, but… it's clear that he's sticking his elbow out, is it not?

But in slow lo everything is a pen

Half an hour ago United tweeted about ETH and Ajax keeping a 4 point lead in the Eredivisie. Deleted it 5 minutes later when they realised how awful it made the club look. Just so fucking tone deaf.

Lots of journos posting today about Haaland. Announcement is definitely looking eminent. Thrilled. If City were smart, they'd officially unveil the new shirt for next season alongside the announcement and put it up for sale. We usually wait until way later than most other clubs to put out the next season shirt but this is the time to break that tradition.

Going to need resuscitating when City start trying to convince everyone that Haaland is only on £200k p/w.

Incredibly corrupt sport lol why aren’t salaries and alike easily attainable public knowledge like in American sports?

By domino Go To PostOne day I hope city are exposed for the under the table paymentsIncredible how everyone in the league and football in general just carries on like Manchester City is a normal club.
Everyone hated United so much they were willing to accept anything to stop their dominance of English football.
Now journalists and pundits just drool over City and everything they do.

Haaland is definitely an upgrade for City. But in bringing him in, they’re going to have to sacrifice some of the control they have with their 8-midfielder setup.
I have some hope that they struggle to adjust, but realistically they’ll just end up being even more dominant, won’t they

Yep yep yep
Think Chelsea got more heat, lol. I guess they were first.
Fuck City, fuck PSG and fuck Newcastle. I know their fans don’t deserve that for the most part (Will has been incredibly good at acknowledging the conflicted feelings he’ll have because of the takeover), but sportswashing means I’m never going to root for them in any scenario.

Which is sad, but completely fair. I don't think it's an insane opinion to say at least in the late 90s early 00s that Newcastle were a very popular team for football fans around the country. That certainly disappeared to an extent over time but I think a lot of sympathy remained that perhaps didn't really exist for other clubs that were going through difficult periods. That I'd imagine has largely vanished now with yeah a "fuck Newcastle" position, which I get.
I mean I'd feel the same if another club had been taken over by the same people, but that's just how it is, the reason I can't just walk away from Newcastle is very complex but basically boils down to a very deep emotional connection I've had with the club all my life.
Sportswashing is an incredibly effective tool.
