Whoscored stats are legit, but of course they favour attacking stats. Just like everyone in football does.
They rightfully have Berardi as the best player in Serie A this year.
Tomiyasu is easily a top ten signing this season.
Might be the best player in the league compared to his backup, too.

Didn't Whoscored average ratings put Mustafi in the team of the season one year?
By LFMartins86 Go To PostYeah, Porto's best player, considered the best player in the Portuguese League this season, joint top scorer of the Copa America 2021 with Messi, part of the team of the tournament. And yet, Porto still winning the league 🤔

If you can prove that then I will gladly walk back what I said.
But as I said they favour attacking stats. Should have added that it is hard to judge defensive players. How do you rate a defender who doesn’t need to make a tackle because he has already snuffed out the danger.
Fuck Mustafi was shit. Ruined my night remembering that name.

By FortuneFaded Go To PostDidn’t realise how small he is5'8.5" supposedly. Kind of tall compared to a lot of forwards (or at least typical). Many of them are more like 5'6" or 5'7" -- bunch of shorties, probably lends itself to being quick.

The numerical metric is pointless in this case. The guardian writers could have easily come up with a better top 10 using their experience as football journalists.
The season is over at this point for Man United. Given how things went can anyone actually say that Ronaldo is a good signing? It’s at best a lifetime achievement type of recognition.
Rashford’s career has been interrupted by it and his inevitable transfer to Everton has been pushed forward at least 3 years.
Greenwood raped a girl in anger.
Cavani took a sailboat to Malta.
Okay he scored some goals when it didn’t matter. Shrug.
By Daz Go To PostLol, he's in the same shot with Rio and crouch.I was comparing him to Owen.
He's gonna look wee.
Also Jake Humphrey is 6’4.
By Lunatic Go To PostHis ability change direction on a dime didn't give that away?Us big guys can be nimble.
Wouldn't put Ronaldo high in any of the top signing lists because anyone high up imo should be there based on the impact they've had on achieving titles/qualifications for the club.
Ronaldo's individual achievements this season in term of the number of goals he's scored is mad mostly due to the age he's playing at (37) in the hardest league. Highly doubt there's anybody currently in this league that would put up these numbers at this age in this particular United team.
Think it just adds to the GOAT debate since he's now come back to the PL and putting up the numbers he is. Imo it's clear he's somebody that would thrive in any league whereas Messi has seemingly struggled away from that Barca set-up in a far easier league and a team vastly better than the competition.

Real are gonna do it, then get done by Liverpool in the final. Think Liverpool have everything they need to exploit the same issues real had against city but are more composed in front of goal
Not sure why these journalists put out PR pieces for players like that. It’s not a reliable source if it’s from the player themselves.

Why are we getting dragged into all this nonsense.
We dealt with Athletico’s shit housery and brushed it off yet we’re letting 5’6” Luca Modric get the better of us.
