By Frustrated_me Go To PostZidaneIs going to be exposed the moment he coaches again. Whether it's Madrid again or another team.
He will not do anything of note as a coach ever again. There is nothing tactically impressive that he ever did like say Mourinho, Cruyff, Pep, Michels, Busby or Klopp (or many other Italian managers @shanks)
He clapped and got the team to constantly whip in crosses, with great heading players like benzema, bale, ramos, varane, ronaldo all waiting in the air. Add some luck of the draw, teams in bad forms at right time, some referee decisions here and there, some wonder strikes in the last seconds, and there's your recipe for a bald fraud.

Rooney was a fantastic footballer. One of the best from the Britain I've ever seen.
Haven't kept up with him as manager, but inshallah we see him in the epl

bah and gotze seem like actual possibilities
can't complain
but I'd much rather get rid of all the dead weight we have in the squad.
almerda, grimaldo, pizzi, meite, seferovic and all the other bums.
I pray we can sell grimaldo to barca, but they're so fucked I doubt they can afford even 2 cents and a sandwich for him, which is fair asking price.

By Laboured Go To PostIdk, would be surprised if we got all three. 2/3 (not Frenkie) imoI think we could convince Timber and Nunez to join with relatively little fuss. A Dutch journalist even spoke tonight about his belief that Timber had already decided to sign for us.
Apparently Jorge Mendes is involved with Nunez's representation in some way as well. Could be useful to us considering the Ronaldo link.
De Jong is a possibility if only for his previous success under Ten Hag. But yeah, sounds like he really wants to stay at Barca.
Also, we'd need to sell a couple of players to even entertain the thought of signing the above three. Looking at like £160m for them.
Frenkie only goes to us if (i) Barca says he has to go and (ii) no other good teams (e.g. City) are in for him. Otherwise forget it.
I just dont want us to waste the summer chasing ghosts - that DM position remains worryingly unfilled.

with the hellish slug mendes in the deal darwin is for sure going to patetico or valencia or some other shit
so we can pretend to sell him for ridiculous money, the club gets paid in 5 or 6 increments and all the money is split between 10 people before it even arrives at the club
don't be fooled
I know FF#1 has to be this way and Frustrated the same way but obviously Zidane had tactical skill as a coach from being a complete maestro on the pitch. The added trump card of a career that demanded respect from the following generation definitely aided his man management of the den of snakes that is RMadrid.
So anyways, some personal updates.
I didn't leave because of the 4-0 (grats on the victory FF). Mom got diagnosed with breast cancer but luckily it wasn't spreading at the time. So I needed to take some time off football and other shit to help her, dad and mom divorced some while ago so I was the main man to step up to help and support however I can. She's now doing her radio therapy post cancer surgery. Sheesh that was stressful for us, I can't imagine what it was like for her. I'm crossing fingers she recovers well and lives a long lasting life.
Then, during all that I proposed to my GF, we got engaged! I fast tracked the wedding for October coming up so that my mom can be there with us. Tons going on in this front right now. Y'all won't believe it but we're expecting 800 some people, gonna be a circus. I never thought I'd get married but here we are.
GF is starting to slowly move in with me fulltime, but culture and traditions state that she can only really move in post wedding - I'll respect that, ohh well, gonna enjoy the last few months living alone.
Then the past few months, I've been focused on getting a new job, it's been a hell of a ride - details in the career thread. The TLDR is I didn't get the job the company went on a hiring freeze just as I thought I got the job after 6 interviews.
And so much other shit. So much... Feels like levels of maturity are happening all at once, I'm embracing it all positively.
All in all, health is good I guess, I hope, and that's what's really important. Been working out at the gym as lockdowns have ended again. Just gonna focus on being good mentally and physically.

We know that at various times last season Barca were struggling to register players and there have been recent reports that it's still an issue.
As for the second point, I just don't know. City will be looking for a midfielder to replace Fernandinho and potentially Gundogan as well. Dunno if De Jong fits that sort of profile.
I'd rather we keep trying for Frenkie, but have other midfield targets lined up to sign if it gets later in the window and no movement has occurred.

I read your post on the jobs thread about the hiring freeze, Frustrated. That's shit, but if you were wanted that badly by one organisation no doubt another will find you very desirable to hire as well.
Congrats on your mother's prognosis. Hopefully she recovers well. And congrats on your engagement as well. I was at a pretty big wedding a while back. Not 800 in attendance but still pretty mega. The organisation alone sounds like hell.

Wish F_M very well but mostly just having a panic attack at the thought of organising and being the central part of a wedding of that size.
Is Dembele still leaving Barca this summer? He's a potentially world class talent if he can remain fit. He wouldn't join United in our current state and if he was willing I'd rather we stay away purely because we're fucking terrible at managing injuries.
He's going to PSG. DoF Mbappe wills it.
@Frustrated: Good luck m9. Seems you are in a rollercoaster but I know you and your mams will make it out great. Best wishes.

Cant believe the revisionism around scholes still. Great player but he wasnt as good as lamps and gerrard imo. Not consistent enough, way to many nothing games in a season.
Sorry to hear about your mum but congrats on the engagement dude!
But sorry Zidane at Madrid is like Mbappe at PSG, sure he might be great but no one really knows.

That's a wrinkle. Where would he possibly go in the PL that would pay him what he wants? City and United seem like they'd tarnish his legacy at Liverpool, and Chelsea seems like a weird return

If he keeps up his current form and then asks for £500k per week, that has Man Red written all over it.
In all seriousness, he won’t get what he wants in the PL. Suspect it’s more agent threats, mostly because his agent isn’t very good.
