By Laboured Go To PostNot convinced a Europa Conference win is going to suddenly undo the entire last half decade of Mou's career, but fair play to you boys for being more forgiving than me.Let's be real. Anything less than a 3-0 today is straight up not good enough. Apathetic display from Roma against a far weaker side.
but hey trophy hurdur
:( Bud and Bacon
quality cup run, without the cherry on top.
Bit to "lets not loose" in the 45 mins but good comeback in 2nd. Roma did nothing but bus parking for 90 mins, had two 1/2 chances and scored one of them.
next year europa League as consideration

Then I can say Ten Hag and Mourinho are shit. Win win.
By Perfect Blue Go To PostHuh? Did you not see who/what I was replying to. How is that not a snarky comment lol
Ninja is never snarky
Curious on the xG for this game. Didn't see the first half but Feyenoord clearly significantly better than Roma in the second. Couldn't get it done but a valiant effort.
By Fergie Go To PostMourinho has won all levels.🔥🔥 Pep would never coach in such low standard cups/clubs

United fans scrambling to explain why Mou is shit, actually
You’ll find out soon enough. When he crashes and burns after inevitably managing your club, you’ll be longing for the days Howe had an identifiable attacking structure and non-playing Dwight Gayle didn’t kick up a fuss because some cunt hadn’t alienated him.

If Mourinho delivered our first major trophy in over 50 years...do you think I'd care?

Is the Europa Conference League a major trophy?
Isn’t it just the new Intertoto? You won that
By n8 dogg Go To PostIs the Europa Conference League a major trophy?Who said anything about him winning specifically that with us?

It's probably considered as one yeah, Intertoto was pretty different (and during the summer). If Bud had won it tonight, would you be telling him it's not a big trophy for a club like Feyernord?
It's Roma's first trophy in 15 years, they seem to be pretty excited about it.
Look at what the media has done to my fellow United boys, a bunch of bitter boys who no longer even remember that football is about achieving collective success. Roma fans are out there having a party, filling their stadium with positive energy, what else could you ask for?
By Willkiller Go To PostIf Mourinho delivered our first major trophy in over 50 years…do you think I'd care?I'm saying lol. Roma haven't won anything in 14 years... do you think they care right now if he leaves in a huff a few years from now. What manager doesn't leave on bad terms at this point?
I guess my mentality as a supporter of North American sports first in my life is a little different. If someone came in and brought the Blue Jays or somehow, the Maple Leafs a title, I wouldn't give a shit what happens after.
I simply don’t care enough about winning trophies and enjoying one night over the weekly enjoyment of watching my football team play well with likeable players and a likeable figurehead. The most miserable season of my United following life (privileged, I know, because of their historical success) was the year we finished second under Mourinho. Turgid football every week. Miserable, unlikeable manager who everyone turned against. No semblance of joy in any game we played until the power of smiling arrived.
Well, it was the worst this year.
I don’t believe Roma ARE a club like Feyenoord. They spent more money than any club in Italy. They don’t play in a smaller league like the Eredivisie. They have enough clout and money to hire one of the biggest names in coaching. Cool, they won a trophy - congrats. Good for them, good for the fans.
Doesn’t mean I think Mourinho is particularly good anymore, or that winning European football’s equivalent of the Carabao Cup against the likes of Zorya Luhansk and Vitesse is particularly notable for a side that spent £100m last summer. It’s the bare minimum. If they or Leicester did not win, it would have been a failure.
If football was purely about winning trophies, then 99% of fans wouldn’t enjoy the game.

Ralph took one of the most expensive football teams in the world, made them play absolutely radioactive football, kept talking shit in the media blaming everyone but himself, and I ask where was that energy?
By n8 dogg Go To PostI don’t give a fuck about Roma either. Two kids sucking wolf titties on the badge. No thanks. All this hatred and misery
n8 has been lost to the great darkness
I like to shit on these smaller trophies but was ecstatic when United won the Europa League and League Cup under Mourinho.
I don’t know about the Conference league though.

Ralf did a shit job as manager. Fortunately for him the players did even shittier.

100k a week are you fucking mental Arsenal.
This club is beyond saving.
Mourinho got Tottenham to a cup final. Should we ask Usho, Scum, Jesal and dearly departed Bungo if they’d have him back?

By your own admission though you're a bit of a weird football fan in the sense winning is secondary to...the style of winning and the people that bring the wins. Maybe it's because you enjoyed so much success for so long but I'm telling you now most football fans have never had the privilege of watching their team play beautiful football, never mind winning trophies I've spent 95% of my footballing life fucking dreaming of it. Winning comes first, always.
England's Euro final was the closest I've really been properly aware of one of my teams coming so close to a trophy, it was fucking magic and if it was Newcastle I'd have felt 100x stronger.
Whoever delivers that, whoever, will be a fucking legend forever. A proper legend.
Leicester didn't win the league destroying teams, they ground it out. You think the Leicester fans give a fuck? You think they care that Ranieri nearly took them down? Of course not.
Mourinho can still just about work as a quick fix manager. He'll make signings to strengthen in the short term and win a couple of trophies. Saw it at United and now Roma. But it comes at the price of overall stability.
He's not a particularly innovative, or even modern coach. He leaves his players to get on with it in attack, whilst he sorts out the midfield and defence. But at United, Spurs and even Roma, we've seen that he isn't as good at that anymore either. Then he starts picking at things, falling out with players, behaving utterly toxic and then fucking off. Since he laid no foundations at the club you're then starting from scratch.
In hindsight, I'd rather we had never appointed him.

I am Roma fan. I lurk this forum really often, know how hash football banter could be, so I dont care to post bc fan such smaller club.
