By Willkiller Go To PostI think it's quite well known, it's been reported a lot here, that Burnley are FUCKED from this relegation financially. That's got a lot of press, I really don't think people are expecting them to come straight back up. It reminds me a lot of Derby in terms of the direction of the club.Yeah, I guess I just don't see the point in it then, you know? He's currently at a team who are often playing in European competitions and he'd go to a team who will probably just wallow at best and even if they don't, you might get fired eventually despite effectively overperforming for a long time. From a sporting perspective, it just doesn't make a lot of sense to me. No big club is thinking hey let's hire Sean Dyche based on his relative success at Burnley. But if it is to be close to his wife's family (since they got a few years near his I assume).. that at least frames it in a way I can slightly understand.
The bookies currently have them about 7th down on the list of teams to get promoted next season whereas Norwich and Watford are 1 & 2. And Burnley got a good few more points than them, I think the expectation is that Burley are in big big trouble.
By Laboured Go To PostI think it's entirely fitting for how much I have despised this season with my entire body and soul that I cannot remember what any of those goals were.

To me I see it as a fairly low risk in on English football, no Premier League team is going to take a chance on him. Championship seems like a sensible level based on his time at Anderlecht, the expectations are low so he has a pretty low bar to meet them. If he does a Rooney and does a very good job despite the very real mitigating circumstances then his stock will rise (Rooney's certainly has), if he doesn't do great...he can claim it's down to the issues at the club (and he might be right). It's only lose if he really fucking bombs, in which case his managerial career in England will be over for a while at least and he goes back abroad.
Salah has had some really nice goals over the years but that Kovacic one this year made me say holy shit out loud. I was like in shock. That's my winner. But if I bother to vote I'll vote for Rodri of course, lulz.
Trying to remember, was our boy Manager also a Feyenoord fan? I wonder how he's doing.

Manager is a Swede, so kind of doubt it. Think he just got busy. Last time i talked to him (to ask if he wanted to play Fifi again), he and his girlfriend were about to buy a house iirc.

By Linius Go To PostWasn't Manager a City lad?He was, but I thought I remembered he had a local team as well.
I'm just realizing I was thinking of confuziz though. Maybe he was Feyenoord too in addition to City. Wonder what he's up to.
By Laboured Go To PostA collective sigh of relief for Anderlecht. He definitely didn't do well there but they did seem to be turning a bit of a corner this season (almost approaching what should be the bare minimum realistically). Saw they're likely to hire the Union SG coach which on the basis of results, looks like a big upgrade. I guess Burnley it is.
By LFMartins86 Go To PostLOVE this.
That's very 90s.
nketiah renewing is good, he's more than enough for europa league and we dont need to go get another backup striker
Nketiah has seemed like a very nothing player for quite awhile but did appear to be moderately competent in the second half of the season. He's probably an okay squad player to have and yeah, it saves them some money. I'd want him to be like the 3rd or 4th striker on the team if I were an Arsenal fan but as a HG player, why not. They've shown the ability to flip someone like him for 20-30m so worst case scenario in a year or two they unload him to Everton or a promoted team and get some cash out of it.
Nketiah actually profiles really well stats wise, albeit on a small sample. Not surprised Arsenal moved to keep him since he could look very good given time.
Eh not as thrilled about that, I don't mind him staying as 3rd choice but I still think we need to bring in two strikers this window.
It is nice that we seem to be moving quickly though getting these two to renew and it sounds like we've already started negotiating for Tielemans and Jesus. Just need to get Saka's contract done as well.

I don't think Nketiah is good enough, but I think it would be really difficult to go into the summer with nothing up front.
Bit of a downer today as we were forced to sign Dajaku on a permanent (he's nee good) and it was revealed that whatever clause activated the extra year for Roberts wasn't met so he is free to talk to other clubs too.
Nkeitah is a decent striker and I can see why we're keeping him on, but I thought he wanted to play more games. He'd be really good for some team like Brighton imo

Hope so for your sake at least!
I reckon he'll sign again for us but would have been nice to have him nailed down already. He's come on so much over these 5 months, just so entertaining to watch him run with the ball. Teams won't play so deep against us in the Championship either, he'll get so much more space to run into.
By Laboured Go To PostWould be quite a downgrade for Palhinha.
Wouldnt mind having Nketiah as 3rd option at best but you just know he'll be first option after Jesus
Him and Jesus as our striker choices is simply laughable
8th place back we go
