The reception of the office blocks I work in has a life-size picture of the queen on the door flanked by a cardboard cutout royal guard. They have bunting everywhere and just started playing the national anthem over the PA
A year ago people were wondering how Leicester kept managing to get guys like Soumare under the radar

By Righteous Furry Go To PostRemember Cleff being pretty livid about them getting Soumare so easilyHe was very good at Lille. No idea what happened at Leicester.

Fine with this providing we actually go out and buy another midfielder this summer to bench Xhaka.
By FortuneFaded Go To PostMeier would never be able to fly in the air force.Well played.
By Cleff Go To PostI think this is honestly a horrible job for him -- a completely lose-lose scenario to be honest. They could get promoted with him but even if they did, they'd just be fighting relegation all the time. He either fails with them or does succeed but doesn't succeed enough to gain much out of it in terms of managerial cache. He hasn't done well enough yet at Anderlecht and could probably stand to get more experience managing a big club like them.
With that being said, his wife is from Manchester and I know Burnley is close by so if he's interested in the job mostly due to that, fair enough.

100% agreed

I disagree, and I'd point to Rooney. Rooney took on a club that has...fucking colossal problems and his stock has risen dramatically as a result.
If it wasn't for Rooney at Derby I'd have agreed though
By Laboured Go To Post@YenI've a local story for you:
A Rangers fanatic who slashed car tyres of GAA fans who’d parked in the cemetery his mum is buried in has been charged with urinating on graves.
Sectarian super-Prod Gary McBlain was listed to appear at Omagh Magistrates Court on Tuesday where he faces four counts of indecent behaviour.
The 42-year-old of McClay Park, Omagh, is accused of urinating on graves on four occasions in Greenhill Cemetery on the Gortin Road in the town on June 29, August 17, 28 and 31 last year.
We revealed how McBlain, who calls his house Ibrox, was sentenced to nine months in jail, suspended for two years, for the shocking attacks on the cars.
McBlain – who even has the blinds of his house colour co-ordinated red, white and blue – accused the GAA of being sectarian.
“They [GAA fans] just park wherever they like, and they shouldn’t be allowed to,” he said.
“They think they can do whatever they like but this is sacred ground. It’s sacrilegious. There’s a straight road all the way to Gortin for them to park on.”
When we asked him if he thought it would be okay if Rangers fans parked in the same car park, he smiled widely and said: “Of course it would be okay, Rangers aren’t sectarian, the GAA are, sure they wouldn’t have a Protestant about them.”

I do think there are differing levels of expectations though which will play a big role in how the success or lack of success is viewed. Burnley are just coming off 7 of 8 years in the PL (and the one Champ season being a title winner) so there is going to be an expectation to get them back quickly and that probably isn't feasible with their debts and losing so many players. Derby were in the Championship for 13 years running when Rooney took over so even disregarding their financial plight, if he just kept them where they were for a bit it wouldn't be seen as a total failure.

I think it's quite well known, it's been reported a lot here, that Burnley are FUCKED from this relegation financially. That's got a lot of press, I really don't think people are expecting them to come straight back up. It reminds me a lot of Derby in terms of the direction of the club.
The bookies currently have them about 7th down on the list of teams to get promoted next season whereas Norwich and Watford are 1 & 2. And Burnley got a good few more points than them, I think the expectation is that Burley are in big big trouble.
Lamptey should switch to Ghana. He's a great player, but stuck behind three other great right backs.
Salah is the only real answer, but Almiron winning goal of the season might be the funniest thing to ever happen in the PL so that.
I think it's entirely fitting for how much I have despised this season with my entire body and soul that I cannot remember what any of those goals were.
