It's worth noting spurs finished 3rd and then 2nd, challenging for the title both seasons, with a squad the same age as Arsenal's this season. I think youth has some bearing, but can't be an ultimate excuse.

If Arsenal actually had more youth and less Cedric, they probably wouldn't have lost those 3 games on the bounce to Palace/Brighton/Southampton

I mean, it can be "worse" than the Athletic piece and also be mostly exaggerated nonsense
I absolutely believe it’s all true. What reason would I have not to believe this shower of cunts are anything less than a shower of cunts?
“Leaks” this season have said the squad is baffled by Lingard’s lack of game time, and the fact Elanga has been getting so much. Also mentioning he’s a teachers pet etc.
I think it’s clear where these stories are coming from, if not the players themselves then their relatives, but the sooner Jesse is gone, the better, and hopefully it’s just his negative influence on Rashford that’s been affecting things.
Henderson has also been rumoured. I think the English players are too close with the press, you can see Vardy and his wife were feeding stories to them for a bit of cash on the side. I remember one World Cup the press were embedded in the England camp, spending every day with the team. It’s a weird situation.

ben white ain’t cutting it and neither is gabriel.
arsenal need a strong, ball-playing cb, but that’s easier said than done of course.
top priorities should be a new cb and a new cf.

Remember when the press were coronating Henderson as no1?

That's not really what I was implying at least, obviously United have huge dressing room problems, and no doubt the stuff that has been reported by more reliable sources is true.
But of course the shit journos are going to jump on the biggest story in the club and embellish and exaggerate. Trust the good sources, the bad ones aren't automatically credible just because they're giving their take on the story.
It's Samuel Luckhurst, the United reddit sources guide has him down as
Tier 5 (Aggregators, Known Shitposters and Banned sources)

Samuel Luckhurst writing style and the way he says the things he says....he embellishes. I find him incredibly toxic as a Man utd reporter.

Every club has them. If Lee Ryder wrote something for us, I wouldn't believe it just because I wanted it to be true because he's shit at best and an absolute fucking clown plonker at worst. I'd wait for George Caulkin's take on it and trust that.

Tricky one. Every club wants and needs CBs like these. It isn’t any coincidence that the top 3 teams are the only ones in the league who really have CBs who are both good defenders and good ball players.
Sometimes I wonder if it’s great recruitment (Klopp) or throwing enough shit until some sticks (Pep), or if lesser players at lesser clubs would look just as good if they were in those teams, playing for those managers.
Obviously not as extreme as that, but I just feel like United could have signed John Stones, Ilkay Gundogan or Luis Diaz and they’d have looked like complete shit for us, as almost every player does.

I think if Pogba played for Liverpool or City, he’d be enjoying status as one of the best in the world. You can definitely smother a player’s excellent ability by having them in a bad team with no leadership, and the reverse is definitely true (Cleverley under Ferguson, for example)
Big up Milan on the scudetto.
But its not a fair comparison.
City, pool and Chelsea would run rampant in serie A.

By recon_zero Go To PostMilan won the scudetto with a very young squad. Arsenal having a shit season is not commendableAnd they had serial winner Ibrahimovic in their squad. Giroud added so much to the team too, you absolutely need that balance between youthful exuberance and experience.
Even Real Madrid would not be anywhere near trophies without their older experienced core players, because when things get tough the youngsters look toward them for guidance, support and inspiration.

I thought about making a Pioli/ Rolf post a few times the last few months, but I thought it would be a bit pathetic.

Brighton pls release Dan Ashworth from his shackles
Hoping for Father Edwards to leave us with Carvalho, 2 first team CMs and a young RB to replace Origi, Chamberlain, Minamino, Milner (probably).
Afternoon, lads. Has Conte left yet? Has football been abolished yet??

This might sound like a weird question, but is Zidane a 'real' manager? Or is he an ex-player than has managed and happened to be very successful

Wondering whether RM have a serious plan B in the short to mid term now the Mbappe thing is gone.
Stick with Benzema and instead buy a new midfield?
