By scently Go To PostRonaldo's overall play these past few games has been so much better, even excluding the goals.probably realized he gotta twerk for a cl team
I'd forgotten what perfunctory victories felt like. Dodgy opening 10 minutes but after that we sailed through.
Would have like to see Garnacho and Fernandez play, but it's fair to bring in Cavani for his final OT appearance and potentially Jones's final one as well.

Shanks/LFM, can you guys ask reilo to give Hixx his avatar privileges back? I would ask but he would probably just do the same to me.
By Hixx Go To Postm8 i literally asked reilo myself and he called me a terroristThat’s why I made the post. Maybe a third party could help.
Maybe these players should look inward as to why the club and fans have fallen out of love with them.
Jesse should know he was adored any time he played even slightly well for this team. Messi Lingard will be missed, Jesse won’t.
No idea if thats real. Even so, shit player complains and leaks to the press and is suprised he doesn't get a farewell. Clown.
Another masterstroke by the club for not selling him in the summer off the back of a good loan. He's exactly the type of player this club needs rid of this summer.

Fifa trialing a pretty fucking major change to offside, Mbappe is going to get 60 goals a season

By n8 dogg Go To PostThat is huge. I think it’ll lead to deeper defensive lines tbh.
I'm pretty sure it's the same proposal that dumb fuck Wenger came up with a couple of years back which was spoken about quite a lot at the time.
Didn't realise it was all the way though intro trials though, has FIFA support so pretty likely to get voted in.

Sounds like a good change on paper at least

Not for me, teams are going to drop deeper and deeper. How to you defend against Liverpool with that rule? More and more teams will be parking the bus from minute 1.
There'll be so many bullshit goals as well, from set piece scrambles where a player luckily has a part of his body 'onside' even though he could literally be 2 yards + away from the last defender.
I don't even see what problem it's trying to solve...
By Willkiller Go To Posthttps://www.reddit.com/r/soccer/comments/uh91j5/new_offside_law/I would be ok with this, some of the offsides given now are pretty ridiculous when a player scores with their feet but it's ruled out because their shoulder is a fraction offside.

Gonna be some great diving headers
By Punished Go To PostWill screw up Liverpool's current offside tactics, and for that reason I'm against it.
By Righteous Furry Go To PostBring it in in 2026 imo
I clicked it and can't read anything?
Is it that rule where if any part of your body is onside, you're onside?

Just another step to have the 70 minute champions league matches played in New York, Beijing and Qatar in the near future.
By Punished Go To PostGood morning, Reds 😆Looking back, it's kind of crazy that there was any controversy given it would have been a clear penalty for Cech's foul if it hadn't been given as a goal.
😁☕

I assume that there's way too many cunt hair offside calls, which imo feels pretty shit .

Well yeah it does but that's really a side effect, the change is so fundamental that it seems less to me a "let's fix offside Var calls" and more "let's fix offside" which...is that a real problem right now? I mean it needs changes but not on this kind of scale.
To me seeing a goal be allowed despite a player using a foot that is a meter past the last defender is going to be even more jarring than seeing a goal ruled out because of the position of an arm pit, I mean it's shit but it still feels like an offside? I dunno man this doesn't seem like a good thing. Wenger pls retire.
I agree with Will. Would rather have goals ruled out by cunt hairs than allowed for being a foot past the line with a foot ON the line (do u get it?
Surely the trialling is to see what affect it does have on the game. Changes probably will happen.
You might be right though with how it's currently tested. But let's see. No curr for me, football too conservative. #normaliserulechanges

Can't read anything when clicking the link but can't they just use players feet for offside calls rather than any viable part of the body. The ones where an attacker is leaning forward but the feet of both players are level should stand imo.
By FootbalIFan Go To PostI'll see you guys in the CL semis in Melbourne 2027 if I'm still aroundYou becoming an aussie?
By Batong Go To PostYou becoming an aussie?Streuth!
Doesn't stop the offside-by-a-hair call at all. You'll still have someone in the var box deciding whether the attackers heel is in line with the defenders armpit or not. This solves absolutely nothing
As far as I can see it's just a rehash of the stuff that FIFA announced they would be testing back in March 2021 (and also a rehash of another Reddit post from 8 months ago which is why I assume iot was deleted). I would be surprised if they adopted it any time soon if at all, especially with how much efforty and money they're putting into automated VAR offsides, which would have to be completed recalibrated and retested if they changed the rule.
