Also, imagine being barely .500 with a 3.30 ERA, holy shit.
Former New York Yankees left-hander Fritz Peterson, who famously traded wives with a teammate, has died. He was 82.
Northern Illinois University, where Peterson starred before his major league career, announced his death Friday. No cause was revealed.
In an interview with the New York Post in April 2018, Peterson said he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in September 2017. He previously underwent treatment for prostate cancer.
On Friday, the Yankees remembered Peterson, the durable lefty who tossed 52 complete games in a four-year span from 1969 to 1972.
"The Yankees are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Fritz Peterson, who was a formidable pitcher and affable presence throughout his nine years in pinstripes," the team said. "Along with longtime teammate Mel Stottlemyre, Peterson was part of a devastating one-two combination at the top of the Yankees' rotation.
"A known prankster and well-liked among his teammates and coaches, Peterson had an outgoing personality and inquisitive nature that brought lightheartedness to the clubhouse on a regular basis and belied his prowess on the mound – most notably his impeccable control, which was among the best in the Majors.
"Peterson will be greatly missed by the Yankees, and we offer our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Susanne, and the entire Peterson family."
Peterson was a fixture in the Yankees' rotation from 1966 to 1973 as part of an 11-year career. Overall, he went 133-131 with a 3.30 ERA and 90 complete games in 355 career appearances and 330 starts for New York (1966-74), Cleveland (1974-76) and the Texas Rangers (1976).
While the 1970 All-Star and 20-game winner was traded twice during his career, it was a swap he chose to make that overshadowed his baseball career.
In 1973, Peterson and Yankees teammate Mike Kekich traded wives in a stunning announcement made at spring training.
Susanne Kekich later married Peterson in 1974 in a union that lasted until his death. Things didn't work out for Mike Kekich and Marilyn Peterson.
Mike Kekich once said there was an agreement to call the whole thing off if anyone was unhappy. But by that time, his former wife and Peterson "had gone off with each other."
Peterson was inducted into the Northern Illinois Athletics Hall of Fame in 1987. His jersey was retired by the school in 2018.

Yes, you are correct sir.
Yankees got a day/night double header sweep against Cleveland, so that's cool.
FUCK
John Sterling is retiring. Goddammit. Health concerns, that motherfucker is 85 so he can keep it gangsta but goddamn
He's been missing in recent Yankee games on the radio, but I never suspected he was hanging them up.
The "them" here is generally cleats, but I guess maybe lozenges is more correct.

I burst out laughing when I saw Lee Jeong Hoo’s MlB page. Claims he was born in Seoul, Korea when he was actually born in Nagoya, Japan.
I guess he needs to make sure everyone knows he is Korea.

I actually don't know if I can watch or listen to baseball anymore
dammit Sterling you had one job and that was to live forever

There were MLB scouts at the weekend game I went to. I was there also scouting haha.
Kim Hye Seong is due to be posted this year. Now that Lee is gone, he is pretty much the best hitter in the league.
https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=kim---016hye
He plays for the same team that Kim Ha Seong and Lee Jeong Hoo played for. Dude has improved his stats every season since he debuted aged 18. Makes good contact with the ball and can hit to the opposite side with ease. Also added some power to his swing. Five homers already, when his career high is 7. Also a gold glove winner at 2b and ss.
Currently leads KBO in WAR and was top last year, but that was mainly due to Lee being out for half the season. Was 9th the previous year.
I hope he has a good season and can earn a good contract in the US.
Another player who is one to watch out for in three or four years is on my team, the Kia Tigers.
Kim Do Young is a third basemen and only 20 but saw a big leap between his rookie season and his second season last year, despite missing a good few months through injury.
Already this season he has seen a huge improvement. He had a slow first week of the season, but is now lighting it up. I think he was hitting .200 in March and is hitting around ,400 this month. Most impressive thing is he is adding power to his swing. Already has seven homers which matches his career high last year. Hit two today in a win. Also, he is a SB threat. Although, he still needs to work on his defence to get it up to MLB standards at 3B.

Went down to Gwangju, my boy Kim Do Young hit a solo bomb and got another stolen base.
Dude’s WAR has jumped .3 in a as many days.
Kia had a new shirt release this weekend, I think it looked pretty slick, but couldn’t get a KDY one in store.
Kia actually lost today. Worst pitching performance of the season.
Still first place without our superstar hitter, best setup man, and half a dozen other players.

My boy Kim Do Young with another great performance.
15th in average, 2nd HRs, 4th in RBIs, 2nd in runs, 3rd in SBs.
Dude is currently projecting for a 50/50.
Only 20.

By unknown Go To Postpac embrace soto's greatnessIt's very cool that the Nats traded him away for no reason.
My boy Kim Do Young just became the first person in KBO to hit ten homers and steal ten bases in a month.
Currently on 10-11.
Dude got dead centre home run power. And he almost had a second one in the same inning.
Looking forward to watching him play this weekend in Seoul. Got a bleacher ticket tomorrow (I will miss the first few innings, so just wanted as cheap as possible) then the main stand for Saturday. So far had no luck for Sunday. All three games are a sellout.
My team Kia are also in 1st place in the league by 4 games. On pace for 100 wins.
In other KBO news. Yesterday the KBO home run record changed hands. Choi Jeong hit his 468th(Tied it against Kia last week, but the next day the American pitcher throw a ball at his chest, dude making aure he didn’t break it against him). Now it is just a question of when he gets to 500. Dude is on pace to do it this season, so is something to watch for.
The previous record holder did it in a lot fewer games and also hit 150 in Japan, so is still the overall Korean with most home runs. Lee Seung Yeop would have easily have hit 700 if he just stayed in Korea rather than head to Japan,
An interesting fact about Choi Jeong is that he is actual the record holder for most hit by pitches in baseball.

What is wrong with Judge?
Yankees should be embarrassed to lose two to the A’s.
I expected us to be bottom of the AL West the whole of the season.
Thank you Houston.

Yankees scored 15 in back to back games so of course they came out and got blanked by the fucking Orioles.
As soon as I said ‘what has happened to Judge’ he seems to have improved.
Gonna have to say the same thing of Acuna.
Also, I am happy De La Cruz is having a good season. Dude might be the most exciting player potential wise.

A’s put up 10 in the bottom of the 3rd. Two homers by Rooker. One an absolute monster.
Edit: first big league hit is a homer for Harris. Welcome to the show.
Edit edit: back to back for the lad.
