By Pac-2 Go To PostThe Angelos family is apparently selling the Orioles for $1.725 billion, 10 times as much as they paid for the team in 1993.Not even 3 Ohtanis

Also being sold for 1.7 billion, this house in San Francisco.
Baltimore peeps are happy and the people in the DC area too.
Also, that cardboard box is good enough for my cat.

Ohtani batting .700 this spring, I don’t know how many AB he has though.
I hope he stays healthy. Genuinely buzzing to see him Opening Day.
Also, Lee Jung Hoo looking decent so far in spring.
I think he is gonna be a star.

So disappointed that he is the starter of the second game of the Seoul Series.
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostOhtani might be the most popular Japanese person in Korea.Ichiro was that at his peak. Pretty amazing actually

Would have liked to see that.
Was speaking to a Korean friend today and she had no idea who Kim Ha Seong is but when I said Shohei Ohtani she got all excited and corrected me that he is Ohtani Shohei. (Actually only noticed at the weekend that the announcers for NBA refer to Rui as Hachimura Rui)
Asked her how she knew and she said Koreans have known about him since he was young and that Korean women love him. Big, strong, and handsome.
Her sister was devastated when it was said on the news he was married.
So excited for the game tomorrow. Getting out of work an hour early to go. Was thinking of wearing my green Oakland A’s Eric Chavez shirt from 2002 and A’s hat with a sign saying ‘Keep the A’s in Oakland’, but fuck it, going with my 2001 Dodgers shirt. Still in pristine white condition.
I am so glad Ohtani got off to a good start.
The buzz around him was just insane and this was in a different country, Dodger fans definitely have to go see him this year.
Closest thing I have seen to Bonds, where all eyes are on him.
So many Japanese fans in the crowd and there were much more Ohtani jerseys and shirts than everyone else put together. Which was surprising considering Kim was back home.
Kim was the only player who approached the cheer level of Ohtani followed by Mookie and then Tatis, although I booed him every time.
I had wanted to go to both games, but would have been hard to ask for time off on back to back days. Really want to see Yamamoto.

This gambling scandal is so dumb lol, people want to see him take the fall but unless he bet on baseball it doesn't really matter.

By blackace Go To PostThey were saying the guy who bet on games was actually betting illegally. Not saying that Ohtani did it, but kinda matters…He lives in California, there's no real way to bet on sports legally there.

If old buddy is getting taken care of, it should be ok then.
If it was Jason Heyward, he would have been suspended until the heat died down..
Nobody wants him to fail, this is a self-made problem.
By blackace Go To PostThen.. don't bet?I mean sure it's illegal, I'm mostly just saying it's not the sort of thing MLB is going to care about too much even if he was the one gambling. He'll get fined and that's about it.

California voters had a chance to make betting legal but they voted no like dummies
The ads were saying “vote no to protect kids futures”, was the dumbest shit ever
Make it 21 or older and be done with it
But nah, it’s still illegal

We need more details about what the interrupter was betting on I suppose.
More I read about the story, the more I think Othani might be fucked. I feel like he will get suspended this year

Wait what?
What am I missing?
By Shanks D Zoro Go To PostWait what?I mean he was caught by the feds who raided a bookie's house and found direct wire transfers from Othani for one million dollars. It's super weird that the bank didn't contact him about the transfers if he didn't know about it... We will see. A lot of the story isn't adding up, including the original tale that he was trying to help his dude.

Didn’t know all that.
I hope this gets cleared up soon with no suspension.

"Up until a couple days ago I didn’t even know that this was happening," he said.
Ohtani says he is "very sad and shocked" about theft allegations against former interpreter

Why am I up at 5 am to watch Lee Jung Hoo’s debut.
I think he will easily win NL rookie of the year.
