Dude deserves to get paid, but his injury record is very concerning if clubs are gonna give him a deal that absolutely smashes anything seen before.

I know it read as an incredible headline when he pitched a complete game and then hit two home runs in the second game of a doubleheader, but his elbow must have been under incredible stress.
Just not giving it the rest it needs with all the hitting he is doing. Body needs recovery time, even if hitting shouldn’t put the elbow under major strain.
Japanese aces are already stressed from high school to the pros they are pitching on way less rest than MLB pitchers.
