By pkaz01 Go To PostI don’t know enough about either team to judge this trade but fuck bledsoeOn the first half, that's the same opinion most people who actually follow either team have, tbh.
For the second half, agreed whole-heartedly.

I... think I would be ok with this? Maybe?
Pelicans got better just by removing Bledsoe... Adding Val is good because he can space the floor and let Zion work inside. Adams just clogged the lanes so this is an upgrade for them no matter which way you look at it.
It seems like Adams went from good to washed really quick? Or was it just a bad fit with the pelicans? I’m guessing it’s the way too much money for what he brings factor but he was solid.
lonzo ain't even good and was legit part of the problem in nola tho

Bledsoe crippled them in so many ways tho.
Zo isnt worth the money he is probably going to get, but he is a great facilitator in the open court and below average in half-court. You have to get at least something close to that if you let him walk. Proper PG play is so important.
By DY_nasty Go To PostClippers really wanna be Raps so bad eh.
spooky hours
DeMar is great though, he’ll do well wherever he goes.
By blackace Go To PostBledsoe crippled them in so many ways tho.Which is why Lonzo needs to go so he doesn't ruin Zion's career

By DY_nasty Go To Postlonzo ain't even good and was legit part of the problem in nola thoI know Adams moves like he's 35 but the dude is 28. He is a prototypical center circa 2004 but in todays game just looks slow and unplayable.

Not having a competent PG didn't help his cause but he can't shoot and doesn't move his feet well enough to defend the PnR anymore. He will probably be someone who is given 10-15 minutes a game from here on out unless the coach decides that veteran = playing time.
By blackace Go To PostBledsoe crippled them in so many ways tho.I'm getting more and more okay with letting guys walk for nothing. Teams work way too hard to get something back when often times it just complicates problems further.

If Lonzo was high value, he would've been had quality offers already but even the teams that see a fit for him didn't want to lock him in early. A PG that won't drive even as the third or fourth scoring is niche no matter how good they are. And he's not a great facilitator. He piggie backs and supplements existing offense.
It's been years and Lonzo hasn't even left Greivis Vasquez tier yet man
Zo is a great value Buddy Hield at this point and it's fucking wild.
I'm still not sure what happened to his defense, either.
I'm still not sure what happened to his defense, either.
Lonzo is bad at:
Driving
Drawing fouls
Floater game
Driving and kicking out
Pick and rolls
Dribble handoffs
Doesn't create his own shot
Midrange shooting
And because of that he's not a good facilitator.
Is he a good enough standstill open shooter and defender to make up for it?

By Doomsayer Go To PostI know Adams moves like he's 35 but the dude is 28. He is a prototypical center circa 2004 but in todays game just looks slow and unplayable. If you're gonna pair an aging Adams with any young franchise big it'd be JJJ imo. It would've taken an all NBA defender to consistently cover asses along NOLAs perimeter too. Zion only plays defense on nationally televised games, Ingram treats defense like a foreign language, and lockdown gawd Lonzo gets cooked plenty because he doesn't even grasp what his own strengths are on that end.

I don't think Adams is great or anything but the Pelicans were a mess for a lot of reasons and lot of those guys never found a comfort zone. Like what's the point of setting a screen for a PG that everyone knows won't drive? Team was worse than the sum of it's parts

By Sho_Nuff82 Go To PostEveryone knows Zo will end up on the Knicks, the stars have aligned too well.Pretty sure we have no interest in him as he addresses none of our weaknesses.
The only player that did something in the playoffs was Rose and Lonzo is the exact opposite. Why would we need someone else who just stands around and can’t create? We have enough of those
By jjasper Go To Posti mean I think they can work well together but I wouldn’t count on thatYeah, a big man has to shoot the ball at near 40% on high volume to make the defender think about whether to close out or stay home on Zion. Not many of those guys in the league.
His Suns stint wasn't so hot right? Maybe he's one of those dudes not cut out to be a head coach in the nba
By joefu Go To PostHis Suns stint wasn't so hot right? Maybe he's one of those dudes not cut out to be a head coach in the nbathe alternative is Jason Kidd.
preferably i'd have neither.
It seems Kidd is a player's coach (just based off how so many players like him [why????]) while Kokoskov couldn't mesh with players while on the Suns. If Kokoskov is the brain behind the coaching staff, should be fine lol
Igor was a good assistant with Snyder in Utah, not good as head coach but it was a shitty situation with the Suns that year the Suns needed a culture builder more than an x’s and o’s coach.

So what you're saying is you want to max Reggie Jackson?

man is asking for the world for Ben.
FVV is actually nice, but if you're just going to swing for the fences why not ask for Shai, Dame, or Beal?

I can't tell if it's good or bad if he actually made this offer…
Imagine Ben sucking it up that much in the playoffs and thinking you’re in any position to dictate his worth

if you're gonna tank, tank like you mean it. no point in losing for free
That trade isn't even legal under salary cap rules. Lol Philly would have to send back Tobias just to make it work salary wise.
Going to basketball for the first time in a month tonight, Covid kept shutting the hall down. Need to top my 7-3-2 from last time. Inspire me, Ben
