If you can’t tell the difference between Suits and Succession in under three minutes let alone three hours best to just move on and not dwell on it.
I liked Suits a lot but it's trash TV. Like, fuck, that's what I loved about it. Just hot girls and bad lawyers going into rooms and one upping each other with hilarious dialogue and telenovela style twists.
Succession isn't that for the most part. It's more, ruthless character driven prestige-like tv than formulaic serial. Suits is on the level of Castle or the Mentalist or just network TV that's sometimes so bad it's so good.

Y’all suck
Suits a Top 5 show for the female eye candy alone
Animated drama series Pantheon, which stars the voices of Daniel Dae Kim, Paul Dano and Taylor Schilling, is the latest series to be scrapped at AMC Networks. This bullshit gotta stop right now. Gonna need a huge disincentive penalty clause upon pickup unionwide
The series has been canceled after one season, despite a two-season order, and pulled from AMC’s streaming service as part of the company’s cost-cutting drive. The second season, which had been produced, will not air.
Pantheon joins shows such as Demascus, Invitation to a Bonfire and the second seasons of 61st Street and Moonhaven, which were all axed as part of a one-time tax write-down at the end of last year.
By NiceGuy Go To PostMake better shows imoSome of the worst shows ever made are seen daily with human eyes
Tax writeoffs are good for no one
Edit: Looks like people already have the right idea:
I'll continue watching out of respect for bud but dont tell me that whole "..dude" shit and the elementary school insults with Lawrence is good writing, that set the tone for me.
Kieran Culkin seems like he's acting on a different show
Maybe it'll get better, but the first few episodes were not top 10 material. At least not my personal top 10

By the end of S1 (if not sooner) Succession will be one of your favorite shows. Bookmark this post.
Suits, lol.
Suits, lol.
Yurt I'll agree that Succession doesnt wow you right away
Feels like the writers are still feeling out the characters right up to the last few eps of season 1. But when they lock in, hoo baby

Very much looking forward to watching Succession, I'm saving it for a particularly droughty TV period.
got bored of succession halfway through season 2. was decent enough. but it was no mad men and a few of the characters were starting to just annoy me, felt like too much of a time sink to keep going. especially that dumb bitch getting kendall was annoying. when he started with the meth it just felt so fucking dumb. greg, and logan though, true chads.
Mazin noted, “Doom is also a perfect example of something that you don’t actually need to adapt. There’s nothing there that you can’t generate on your own—”https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2023/01/02/can-the-last-of-us-break-the-curse-of-bad-video-game-adaptations
“Other than the name Doom, and marketing,” Druckmann cut in.
“That’s the thing,” Mazin said. “If what the property is giving you is a name and a built-in thing, you’re basically setting yourself up for disaster, because the fans will be, like, ‘Where’s my fucking thing?’ and everybody else will be, like, ‘What’s Doom?’ And then you’re in trouble.”
Alright, I'm in. Druckman and Mazin fucking get it.
Apparently Netflix renewals may hinge on whether a majority of viewers watch an entire season. 1899 according to 3rd parties had 32%
Heartstopper had a 73% completion rate and was renewed. The Lincoln Lawyer had a 56% completion rate and was renewed. Resident Evil spent a good amount of time at #1, but only had a 45% completion rate and was cancelled. First Kill had a 44% completion rate and was cancelled. Squid Game had a sky-high completion rate of 87% and was obviously renewed. Arcane had a 60% completion rate and was renewed. The Irregulars had a 41% completion rate and was cancelled. Love Death and Robots had a 67% completion rate and was renewed. Pieces of Her and Inventing Anna had 54% and 42% completion rates respectively, but both were limited series, so renewal didn’t matter.

By Daz Go To PostNetflix' decisions being completely driven by algorithms is still dumb.
"nobody watched this shit" is a weird way to define an algorithm. Sounds like Netflix is making decisions to cancel shows the same way shows have been cancelled for decades.
So like even if it doesn't get huge numbers, if most of the people that did watch it watched the whole thing, is that a factor?
Sandman took forever to get renewed, were they waiting to see if people were pacing themselves or something?

Don't really understand the outrage to be honest. If people don't watch, the show gets cancelled. That's how it has always been.
It's not a hard-and-fast rule, either.
There's obviously budgetary concerns, do they own the IP or is it made through another production company, are they struggling producing on the day-to-day, etc etc.

Yeah, quite silly to believe they're running it through a "% watched to completion" calculator and cancelling everything that comes under 50%
Also, this idea to blame it on "algorithms" seems misplaced? What do people think Nielsen has been doing all these decades? They run an in-house algorithm that determines the most popular things on TV, which includes KPIs like whether people are finishing a given broadcast or moving on to watch something else...
By Willkiller Go To PostYeah, quite silly to believe they're running it through a "% watched to completion" calculator and cancelling everything that comes under 50%Just might happen to be a good metric coincidentally, even if that's not the whole story
Always fun to see these well liked shows get cancelled after one season then go look at some random 90s sitcom that no one remembers. 5 seasons bare minimum

Alan Sepinwall is probably one of the most respected TV critics.
He calls one particular episode as the first contender for best TV episode of 2023.
It was never going to be terrible, the series was already very HBo. Heck, its even kind of episodic in its structure.
With Neil and Co at the helm, this show is a lateral move. Also seems they got a decent budget.
