By Laboured Go To PostLet me translate this legalese you boys.lmao
"We've not got a fucking leg to stand on and we'll be settling this on a pretty costly and confidential basis in due course".
By Laboured Go To PostI've crossed out the bits that aren't relevant.
As to the other bit I'd say that at absolute bare minimum it does not read as though they have fulfilled the contract at all.
No doubt within the next 12 months there will be a little-noticed article stating the matter has been resolved through an out of court settlement and both parties have declined to comment.
How is it not relevant that the reason why the movie “underperformed” at the box office is because of covid? They can use so many examples to prove their case.
Also don’t see how a major contractual bonus being tied to theater revenue has any bearing on how much she’s owed from streaming revenue, considering that would’ve been in her contract also. Which is why Disney says she gets to make significant additional $ from it. What is being disputed is whether or not theater revenue and premier access should be 1-1. But why should it if the contract states otherwise? Saying it’s not fair because the contracts were signed pre covid sounds a bit far fetched, but anything can happen. If you’re right you’re right.
Because they chose to simultaneously make it available on streaming for $29 and not share those revenues with her.
I don’t have access to the contract but the article says the argument presented forward by the lawyer is that streaming release prevented box office milestones from being achieved, not that she didn’t get a cut from streaming. Disney says she did get additional pay from streaming, but maybe they are lying.
Yes. That's pretty much the gist of it. She wouldn't be suing if she got a cut of streaming because it ate into BO.
If the contract states a window of exclusivity for theater releases, then Disney breached the contract. I missed that part, the article in the tweet didn’t mention it, and I didn’t bother checking the link for a previous article where it does say it.

If it’s that simple then I take back what I said. How can Disney say they didn’t breach the contract, if it specifies theater window exclusivity?

In a lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, attorneys for Johansson allege that the star’s contract was breached when the studio opted not to debut the film exclusively in theaters, a move they claim depressed ticket sales for the Avengers spinoff. Much of Johansson’s compensation was tied to the box office performance of “Black Widow” — if it hit certain benchmarks, bonuses would kick in.

Can't wait for Disney lawyers to argue that what they did was in consumer's best interest, too.
"Look, we gave them a means to watch a movie for $29 and a $5/mo subscription. It's in their best interest!"

The real Paolo Gucci looked absolutely nothing like Leto there. Totally bizarre decision and example of hack Ridley Scott hacking it up.
They're trying for this one
But even in pics and the trailer Leto is coming off more like a used car salesman.

By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostSaw F9, I have no idea how you top the ridiculousness in the next one, maybe fight a predator?I honestly don't know
They'd have to go into time travel/multi-universe type plot to outdo this
By You got 14 bricks right there? Go To PostSaw F9, I have no idea how you top the ridiculousness in the next one, maybe fight a predator?Crossover with Jurassic Park/World. They've been joking about it.
It was so much easier to just get the character right, but for one reason or another they came up with that.
for what they did, they should've just used red widow
and it was just so poorly done after that first fight too. oooh look I got claws I'm black panther now uwu
half the fun of a mimic/swap character is them using someone else's abilities in unorthodox ways and seamless transition. here's my bow now pew pew. Disney pls

F9 has two ways to be topped:
1. Fastformers
2. Kill off all the sidekicks in the next film so the saga can actually end with some stakes for once.
That ability doesn't translate to film imo. Needs a freeze frame with a "nani" to have any impact. They tried though.

By Freewheelin Go To PostThe accents lmao
Both his films this year feel like parody with guys completely ill equipped to capture the nationalities on screen.
Suicide Squad was good fun. Well-cast (Elba, Dastmalchian and Cena are great) with some fun action scenes, a nice cynical brutal streak and some interesting stuff on American imperialism and foreign policy. It’s a little sloppily structured and juvenile in places, as is the James Gunn way, but it’s a good time at the cinema. Will be a lot of 15 year olds new favourite movie.
How was it? One of my most anticipated films in ages.
By Koko Go To PostAbout to watch The Green Knight, think last time I went to see a movie was OUATIH or Star Wars.
