Let not even get onto Nickelodeon. Kenan & Kel was my jam and "Welcome to Good Burger, home of the Good Burger! Can I take your order?"

By Lunatic Go To PostBruh most channels were free with an antenna and those channels were apart of strata fees. But then I again I guess it was probably hard if you lived in a city to get reception. But yea don't try to pull the poor card cause I know in the states y'all have laws that require local stations to broadcast.
But broadcast networks like WB / UPN => CW did not exist when I was a kid. For real, we had like 6 channels over the air.
For me in the Greensboro, NC area, it was 2 / 8 / 12 / whatever the hell PBS was (maybe 4) / 45 / 48
2 was CBS (WFMY)
8 was ABC before being bought by Fox (WGHP)
12 was NBC (WXII)
45 was independent, I think they went ABC after that bullshit with 8
48 independent
and of course PBS
That's all I had for much of my younger years. We had cable occasionally, but it was regularly cut off.
By reilo Go To PostGive Pac a break all he had was I Love Lucy and Dick Van Dyke to watch
Andy Griffith Show, but I appreciate the show of solidarity.
For the longest I remember basic cable stopping at like 50 or so, then they added 50 to about 75 with stuff like Cartoon Network, Animal Planet, Food Network and all that.
My dad also had these bootleg cable filter attachments to get Disney Channel, Cinemax, HBO and WWF PPVs for free that you had to plug in between the cable wire and jack to activate.

Never liked MASH. I think it was the theme song that turned me off, really. You're a comedy show, but you have a theme that makes me want to off myself? Fuck off.
Of course, I didn't really understand it in exactly that way at the time, but fucking hell, what a horrendous theme overall.

Please tell me y'all remember when sun spots during periods of the year would fuck up cable TV reception?
By domino Go To PostFor the longest I remember basic cable stopping at like 50 or so, then they added 50 to about 75 with stuff like Cartoon Network, Animal Planet, Food Network and all that.Man basic cable here stopped at 30. Those were the days when Satellite TV piracy was king. But we had the negative of when it rained or was really cloudy the reception was fucked.

I'll be honest, I fucking loved watching Diagnosis Murder with my Nan
Murder She Wrote was shite tho

Diagnosis: Murder was great. Don’t know how Dick van Dyke had so much spare time while being chief of medicine at a hospital.
By Pac-12 Go To PostDidn't even have cable for much of my youthNot even the 50 dollar hook up cable?
Parents weren't rolling in it like the rest of y'all, I guess
By blackace Go To PostNot even the 50 dollar hook up cable?Right? Shit was baked into our strata fees. Strata fees are monthly contributions by the owners of units in a complex where they contribute towards the maintenance and upkeep of the complex. It's enshrined in law here that it has to be a non-profit entity. Usually ranges between 400-800 KYD a month depending on the occupancy of the development. Basic cable is normally a part of those fees. Now this only applies to owners. I imagine you guys have a similar system. So on top of your mortgage you need life insurance, home insurance, and have to pay strata fees. Owning property is super cost prohibitive if you don't get into the right career.

Saturday night Dr Quinn, Touched by an Angel and Walker Texas Ranger all in a row had my family in a strangle hold 😂
By Daz Go To PostNot sure that math adds up.
If a female is single it's you AND 20 other guys. This isn't the Bachelorette.
and if she's taken its either you're all irrelevant or its you, 20 other guys, and her bf.

Yeah hopefully the person did. I understand the selfish attitude, but that shit could just as well have resulted in them getting killed

Lots of relationships start during the slow death of other ones because people are kind of shit at breaking up.
I used to watch nash bridges with dad after he closed shop for the night.

I would stay up late and watch Unsolved Mysteries even though it was creepy shit. The intro still gives me goosebumps.

Just had the most boring super long conversation with someone who believes in star signs. Told her mine and she went on a 45 min monologue how i totally fit the description and she always knew that i was that one.
Didn't have the heart to tell her i said the wrong one.
