By JesalR Go To PostOf course it was a factor, reputational damage, even from man babies is one of the things they give most of a shit about.
I'm just trying to wrap my head around these meetings where they have to discuss adverse reactions they might see from their core customers when opening up their library of games to a larger market
If you put any stock in that, you have to do customer research to determine how likely it is your NPS score is going to drop because some bloke with a final fantasy avatar isn't happy that Horizon Zero Dawn is on Steam
By Bungie Go To Post"We also looked at it through the lens of what the PlayStation community thought about it [publishing on PC]. There was no massive adverse reaction to it. So we will continue to take mission steps in this direction."Gamers get their feelings hurt easily.
This was actually a factor in their decision making…
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostPS5's 2021 starting to look very weak all of a sudden.
All of a sudden?
We were half a year into a pandemic when it released and we are still in it. And it's looking more and more like this ride isn't going to end anytime soon. We are going to get only trash games this year.
By DerZuhälter Go To PostWe are going to get only trash games this year.same as every year then.

By DiPro Go To Postsame as every year then.More anime and souls discussions in here. Oof.
"There’s an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognise the economics of game development, which are not always straightforward. The cost of making games goes up with each cycle, as the calibre of the IP has improved. Also, our ease of making it available to non-console owners has grown. So it’s a fairly straightforward decision for us to make."
I suspect there's also too many reasons not to leave money on the table at this point in time:
- Impact of supply chain struggles on console production
- Subsequent impact of that on next gen game sales
- Low costs of porting games to PC, success of their previous ports, and the profit brought to those divisions
- Demand (PS5) way ahead of supply, so controlled damage on what you might consider your USP (your library of games limited to your platforms)

By LabouredPatriot Go To Posthttps://www.resetera.com/threads/no-ps4-game-should-get-a-pc-port-unless-it-also-gets-a-ps5-remaster.383375/These the same people that when an Xbox fan says how good Microsoft handles BC, they say why do I care about old games. Now that PC gets some old games now suddenly we care about old games
More games for more people lets gooooo. PC lads brought SMT back to life, forever grateful.
Watch Bloodborne be locked 30 tho lmao. Till mods fix it, again.

By Bungie Go To PostThat doesn't sound great :|right? People made a such a big deal about Marauder when in reality you could wreck him in 3 hits if you knew what you were doing
Hopefully, like with the other enemies people seem to hate, it's more about solving the problem than putting your head through your monitor in frustration
I think it's just really easy money and there's no reason for Sony not to release on PC. The PC port of Horizon was trash for months and still sold well. We're probably not that far off from their new games releasing on PC.
I feel like the PS5 isn't in direct competition with PCs anyway so might as well
people don't normally go for either a PS5 or a gaming PC, no?

kind of not surprised most of these studios seem to have very bad leadership who just hope everything works out by overworking everyone else

No one rational cares if I get to play TLOU2 on Epic Games Store in the year 2023.
By Yurtlicious Go To PostI feel like the PS5 isn't in direct competition with PCs anyway so might as wellThere doesn't seem to be much overlap, no. Microsoft has talked about how, in the days before GP anyway, their players weren't making a choice between playing the same game on Xbox or pc. Rather, the hardcore pc crowd just wouldn't play the game at all if it wasn't available.

Horizon was available for years for <$10 on PS4 and still sold reasonably well for an old port last year. It's free money.
By Pedja Go To PostHappy the PC lads have something to play now other than Spider Solitaire.
There's simply no way a PS exclusive is going to cut into my Solitaire time. But it's nice to have options.
By aka Espi Go To PostNo one rational cares .
well have you seen the sony posts on here?

Ideally
I blame Chris Avellone.
First CDPR and now this. Fuck Poland.
By LabouredPatriot Go To PostThis sucks. DL2 looked promising.Sigh, I was (still am) really looking forward to this. The first one is still of the better story coop experiences you can have.

Well I’ll try the 120 mode but 10 dollars is dumb
Very dumb, but I don't think Activision have released a single free upgrade so far

By Wahabipapangus Go To Postwell have you seen the sony posts on here?
Steverule was the one that cared a lot about this sort of thing for some reason. He was dead against Halo on Steam. I don’t think Bud and Sy and the other ones care quite as much
By Wahabipapangus Go To PostCan we really call bud a sony lad, when he doesn't even have a Ps5?Not his fault he lives in a tier 2 country. Sony just showing bare disrespect to the lowly Euros.
phil is buying kojima productions first and then nintendo next because the switch is slightly further away
By inky Go To PostIt's fine that more games coming to PC, but Days Gone? Is sy making these decisions? They want ps exclusives right?
Dreams, Knack and the order 1866 up next
Days Gone is technically impressive so I imagine some PC lads might enjoy messing around with it
it's bang average as far as gameplay goes though and annoyingly repetitive. I'd wait for a Steam sale

By inky Go To PostThe Order would be fine just to see the 3090 bros screenshots.
The problem with these games that are half post processing effects is you see what they were hiding when you turn them off
