By Kibner Go To PostI like the 3-second rule because it means there aren't as many boring 7ft stiffs out there.
Sure but removing the big from the paint clears rooms for drives to dunks and late collapses to kick out 3’s. Nobody at any state of the game does this but the pros.
By Fenderputty Go To PostThe only time a big should leave the paint in a 3-2 is if the ball goes to a corner or from one corner 3 to the other and the big has to fly out. The wings could play actual wing d and give up drives to a clogged lane.the amount of floor that an NBA level big can cover is pretty insane, but letting them anchor firmly from the middle of the floor means that any decent defensive center could essentially be 'everywhere' (they need to be) at once
i think you neutralize that with removing offensive 3 seconds though. with current rules, that still allows a defending big to hold ground in the paint but it requires conditions to be met and consequences to be considered

That’s in interesting idea.
isn't he wrong though? it did happen to black players.
one is coaching the Clippers.
not denying Nash's obvious priviledge though.

By Omega Go To PostAside from him only other person I can think of is Mark Jacksoni looked it up:
Fisher
IT
Doc
Mark Jackson
Kidd (mixed race)
and a bunch of older ones which i don't know.
lot of white player obviously like Kerr, Bird, McHale, Vinny Del Negro, etc..
By domino Go To Postyeah if you a point guard you can walk straight into a HC job*in new york

But, yeah, there is still a lack of diversity in hiring, overall, for every coaching and front office position.
yeah magic too but he coached 16 games in a special kind of situation so i didn't include him.

I think the coaching demographics are inverse from the player demographics, no?
The most bizarre thing about the Nets hiring of Nash is that he's replacing Kenny Atkinson, which begs the question why fire Kenny to begin with.
It reminds me of when OKC finally got rid of Scott Brooks only to replace him with Billy Donovan.

yes and that shouldn't be the case.
I think coaches like IT, Kerr, McHale are a bit different in terms of they had no coaching exp but they were front office guys before that..
The front office is also where brothers are in short supply... I think if all in all more blacks were hired in GM roles and so on people would not care about a Nash hiring..

By DiPro Go To Postyes and that shouldn't be the case.We know why is, though. Americans think whites are smarter and that black people are only good for athleticism or physical labor, except when white people can also do that in which case they're the best at it
It bleeds into everything
Anyone think the start of the season being pushed back will set precedent on when the season starts from now on? How do they get it back on track after Covid? Shortened season to reset it or what?
By pkaz01 Go To PostAnyone think the start of the season being pushed back will set precedent on when the season starts from now on? How do they get it back on track after Covid? Shortened season to reset it or what?lockout schedule, backtobacktobacks
By pkaz01 Go To PostAnyone think the start of the season being pushed back will set precedent on when the season starts from now on? How do they get it back on track after Covid? Shortened season to reset it or what?Yes, just a shortened season next year exactly like both lockout years.

shortened training camp, canceled or drastically reduced pre-season, bad teams will be good to go, teams that went deep in playoffs will lean on the bench for the early part of the year, call up scrubs to absorb minutes, etc
That's going to be a fun shitshow to watch, assuming the season starts in January or February that gives them what two three months til playoffs in April?
By pkaz01 Go To PostThat's going to be a fun shitshow to watch, assuming the season starts in January or February that gives them what two three months til playoffs in April? If it starts in December like 2012 they can get to 60 games by May

They get to boss around young, poor black kids and NBA execs think it will translate to bossing around rich black players because racism
By Moris Go To PostBron went off for 29 and we're losing. That doesn't seem good.posting in the offseason thread is a sign
we will hire the wrong coach. the front office will fire the janitor and we will sign another center.
