Free Agency: Maybe it's October 18th, but could be delayed?
LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- In team meetings and conversations at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the National Basketball Players Association has been preparing its membership for the likelihood that the start of free agency in mid-October could be pushed back several weeks, sources told ESPN.

Because of the uncertainty about next season's projected league revenues, a delay to the Oct. 18 start of free agency would give the NBA and NBPA a chance to better formulate the parameters of the 2020-21 salary-cap and luxury-tax thresholds.

Start of next season: Probably not happening on December 1st.
NBA commissioner Adam Silver said the league is likely to delay its previously planned Dec. 1 start for the 2020-21 season in the hope of getting paying fans back into arenas.

Though the NBA bubble environment in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, has been a success, Silver said the league is not focusing on reinstating another quarantined campus for next season.

"I'd say Dec. 1, now that we're working through this season, is feeling a little bit early to me," Silver told ESPN's Rachel Nichols before the NBA draft lottery on Thursday night.
